What is that we believe about sports and arts?

What do we see as its implication for us in our education and in our spiritual formation? What are its consequences in our lives? Sports and arts bring people into the bond of unity. Related activities unify people from different walks of life, besides an agent of social transformation; a training ground of social involvement. Creativity is integral to sports and arts activities. It is in that creativity finds expression of inner realities. Each of us is an expression of Gods inner realities. Perhaps, God does not sing nor play but he does so, through us. There were Michelangelo, Manny Pacquiao, Shamcey Supsup, Elton John, among others. I believe that God is using us to reveal himself in his way of giving respect to his own work. After all, it is he who gives us with every talents and skills. With these thoughts, I am led to a question, should we not also give ourselves to him or live with his words through arts and sports? Sometimes people tend to think that they are not talented. Humans are created with potentials! These should be realized in ourselves. All we have to do is to give every opportunity to learn. Perhaps, we could not have develop our potentials in arts and sports if we allowed ourselves to get disgusted and disappointed by the criticisms we received from our trainers and coaches. Many tend to believe that sports and arts are words exclusively identified with person who have talents in creating sensible actions. I believe it starts with one realizing the value of creativity and learning to appreciate others. Offenses do not degrade our opponents but hide the goodness with them. With appreciative eyes, we recognize hidden values and traces of the creator in them. This led to the realization that we as athletes and as artists to be creative not aiming simply for victory but to aim re-creating others towards the image of Creator as we all meant to be. Talents we may think are personal attributes because we can mean our own glorification, fame and popularity. This notion is purified as we develop and slowly make our talents parts of our lives and eventually become our identity. Potentials when developed, becomes manifestation that God created as unique. Through these, we can express and share our thoughts and experiences in sports and arts bringing out the social dimension of giftedness. Ladies and gentlemen, the theme: BLAZING AND LIVING GODS WORDS THROUGH ARTS AND SPORTS. Sports and arts are an avenue for giving glory to God because our inclination to sports, a gift from God, is being honed. Moreover, winning or losing doesnt really matter, because greater glory can be gained by simply being honest, peaceful, humble and friendly where it be as a team or as individual. Thank you!
