1. Demonstrate how to set up a performance-level PA system and understand personal development in relation to installation of sound reinforcement equipment. 1.1 Explain the sound reinforcement requirements for a specified live music performance This assignment covers part of unit 335 Sound reinforcement.
Assignment
Youve been asked to provide the sound system for a music event in the main room at Play something Academy. In groups of 2, you will need to set up a PA system, including microphones and DIs, for a 4-piece band (guitar/vocals, guitar, bass and drums). To do this efficiently and safely you will also provide a stage plan for the event, including an equipment list and basic health and safety considerations. Once you have successfully completed the task you will, in your group, take part in video interview to evaluate the success of the task and recognise any strengths, weaknesses and areas to improve. Your tutor is the promoter for the gig, and will be able to provide you with further information on the bands and any technical issues.

Task 1 Explain what equipment you will need as well as the personnel required to rig and operate the PA efficiently and safely. You should also highlight any operational considerations and how you would overcome any potential issues. You should consider: Acoustics Stage Plan Positioning of all sound equipment in relation to stage Power Supply What microphones or equipment for specific instruments Health and Safety implications In addition you should provide a schedule and realistic timescale from the get-in to the get-out.
