1 Alarm Information
1.2 Alarm ID
This topic describes the alarm ID. Alarm ID is an integer ranging from 1 to 32000. An alarm ID identifies only one alarm. The alarms of the same type but with different report sources or report time have the same alarm IDs and handling procedures.

Severity Major
Description Alarm of this severity affects the quality of service (QoS) and you must take immediate actions. If the QoS of the equipment or resource decreases, you must restore the equipment or resource to recover its capability. You must take immediate actions during the working time. Alarm of this severity does not affect the QoS. To avoid the fault with higher severity, however, you need to take actions in proper time or observe the fault. Alarm of this severity indicates that errors may exist to affect the service. Based on different errors, you must take different actions to handle the errors.
Minor Warning

2.1 ALM-17016 OML Between Board and Main Processing Module Disconnected
Description
The ALM-17016 is reported when the operation and maintenance links (OML) between other boards and the main processing module are interrupted. Through the OML, the main processing module performs loading, configuration, maintenance, and state management on other configured boards of the BTS. When the main processing module detects that the OML between a board and the main processing module is interrupted, it reports the alarm. Through the alarm, you can find in time the interruption of the OML between the board and the main processing module. The main processing module of the BBU3606 is the CMPT, and that of other types of BTS is the BCKM.

The Service Maintenance System cannot operate and maintain the board. In the equipment panel of the Service Maintenance System, the board status is in gray (offline).
System Actions
If the board where the alarm is generated is in position, the board is automatically reset and restarted.
Possible Causes
The causes of the ALM-17016 are listed as follows:

The BTS configuration data is incorrect. The actual slot number of the board is inconsistent with the configured board slot number. The board is not installed or inserted tightly. The board is not powered on. The board hardware or backplane is faulty.
The CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM provides transmission for the RF module. As a result, except the previous causes, the following may also be the causes:

The CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is not started. The cable between the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM and the RF module is faulty. The CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is faulty.

Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the BTS configuration is correct.

If the BTS configuration data is wrong, modify the configuration data. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 2. If the configuration data is correct, go to 2.
Step 2 Check whether the planned slot is configured with a board. If a board should be configured, configure the board. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 3. If the board is configured, go to 3. Step 3 Check whether the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is available. If the RF module is faulty, in the equipment panel of the Service Maintenance System, check whether the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is available.

If it is unavailable, go to 4. If it is available, go to 5.
Step 4 Check whether the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is started. View the board status from the equipment panel and check whether the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/ HECM is started.

If the CCPM/CECM/HCPM/HECM is not started, start it. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 5. If the board is started, go to 5.
Step 5 Bring the spare parts to the site and replace the faulty parts. Bring the spare parts to the site and replace the faulty parts. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 6. The spare parts are as follows:

Step 6 Check whether the board is in position and whether the slot position is correct.

If the board is not in position, insert the board to ensure that it is in the position. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 7. If the board is in position and the slot position is correct, go to 7.
Step 7 Check whether the cable is faulty. If the STDM is faulty, remove and then insert the cable to check whether the cable is faulty.

If the cable is faulty, replace the cable. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 8. If the cable is operational, perform 8.
Step 8 Replace the faulty board. To replace the board that reports the alarm, refer to the BTS Site Maintenance Guide. ----End

The contact between the receiving port and the fiber is poor or the fiber is damaged. The STDM/CMTR/OMTR connected with the optical fiber is not powered on or the optical module of the STDM/CMTR/OMTR is faulty. Procedure
Step 1 Keep the spare parts ready. The spare parts are as follows:

STDM Optical module If the fiber is not connected to the receiving port, connect the fiber and go to 3. If the fiber is connected, go to 3.
Step 2 Check whether the fiber is connected to the receiving optical port.

Step 3 Remove and insert the fiber on the receiving optical port of the optical module. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 4. Step 4 Replace the optical fibers. To replace the optical fiber, refer to the BTS Site Maintenance Guide. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 5. Step 5 Check whether the ODU is powered on.

If it is powered off, switch on the power switch. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is cleared, the procedure ends. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 6. If it is powered on, go to 6.
Step 6 Replace the ODU. Step 7 Check whether the STDM/CMTR/OMTR is powered on.

Step 1 Check the type of the SFP port and keep the spare parts ready. The spare parts are as follows:

If the SFP port is not installed, install it. Ensure that the installation is correct, and then go to 3. If it is installed, go to 3.
Step 3 Check whether the SFP port is installed correctly and observe the Tx indicator of the port.

If the indicator is ON, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 4. If the indicator is OFF, go to 4.
Step 4 Remove and then insert the SFP port and observe the Tx indicator of the port.

If the indicator is ON, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm is not cleared, go to 5. If the indicator is OFF, go to 5.

2.4 ALM-17048 Version Mismatched Between FPGA Software and CPU Software
Description
The ALM-17048 is reported when the version of the field programmable gate array (FPGA) software of a board is not compatible with the version of the CPU software. Only when the version of the board FPGA software matches the version of the CPU software, the board can work normally. When the board is started, the CPU software automatically checks the version of the FPGA software. When the CPU software detects that the FPGA software version does not match the version of the CPU software, the ALM-17048 is reported. Through the alarm, you can find in time the fault in the versions of the board FPGA software and the CPU software.

Step 1 Check and replace the board software of the BAM. Check and replace the board software of the BAM based on the FPGA software and CPU software versions described in the Version Configuration Information. Step 2 Upgrade the FPGA software and the CPU software of the checked board. Run the DLD CBTSSW command to upgrade the FPGA software and the CPU software of the checked board. ----End

When the satellites traced by the BCKM/CMPT satellite receiver are insufficient, the BCKM/CMPT fails to obtain the satellite position because of the bad geometric position such as small satellite elevation even if the traced satellites are sufficient. As a result, the BTS system clock performance is affected and the alarm is generated. When the system clock does not have the hold capability, the alarm is reported if the satellites traced by the BCKM/CMPT satellite receiver are insufficient or the position cannot be obtained. When the system clock has the hold capability, the alarm is reported if the satellites traced by the BCKM/CMPT satellite receiver are insufficient or the position cannot be obtained in the hold time.
Through the alarm, you can find the fault of the insufficient satellites locked by the BCKM/ CMPT satellite receiver.
NOTE
The traced satellites are fewer than four in the case of the GLONASS not-in-position hold. The traced satellites are fewer than five in the case of the GPS/GLONASS not-in-position hold. The traced satellites are fewer than one or two in the case of the satellite receiver in-position hold.
