Drawing Water from Deeper Wells

Artesian wells

John 7:37-38 KJVR In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on
me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

If any man thirst:

Jesus will provide a drink (touch of the spirit) to anyone that desires it. He will hold nothing
back.

Revelation 22:17 MSG "Come!" say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo,
"Come!" Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink, Drink freely of the
Water of Life!

2 Peter 3:9 KJVR The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.

John 12:32 KJVR And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Although all men are drawn, not every man believes or accepts,

Matthew 5:11-12 KJVR Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (12) Rejoice, and be
exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets
which were before you.

Not every man will accept the call. But, if someone says to Jesus, let me drink, he will
provide drink.

We have seen many people come in, drink of the water and then leave. They don’t stay.
Some who stay, go no farther than the drinking. The rivers of living water never flow
from them, for they remain to drink what is provided to them.

There are those who desire more than a drink. The little sips provided by the Holy Spirit
to those how ask are not enough. They respond differently to the sips that the Holy
Spirit provides.

Psalms 42:1 KJVR To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart
panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

It is these who the Lord is talking to in the second verse.

Matthew 22:36-37 KJVR Master, which is the great commandment in the law? (37)
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy
soul, and with all thy mind.

When we come to the Lord, we are changed.

Ezekiel 11:18-19 KJVR And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the
detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. (19) And I will
give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony
heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh:

Romans 8:10-11 KJVR And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the
Spirit is life because of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken
your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Hebrews 5:12-14 KJVR For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that
one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become
such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. (13) For every one that useth milk is
unskillfull in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. (14) But strong meat
belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses
exercised to discern both good and evil.

We use the example of meat because that is what is used in the bible – but it is really
referring to more complex thoughts and issues.

People who should be teachers are actually being taught rather than teaching.

Hebrews 5:12-14 MSG By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find
you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting
from square one--baby's milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago! (13)
Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God's ways; (14) solid food is for the mature,
who have some practice in telling right from wrong.

Hebrews 6:1-3 MSG So come on, let's leave the preschool fingerpainting exercises on
Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ. The basic foundational
truths are in place: turning your back on "salvation by self-help" and turning in trust
toward God; (2) baptismal instructions; laying on of hands; resurrection of the dead;
eternal judgment. (3) God helping us, we'll stay true to all that. But there's so much
more. Let's get on with it!

Its time that we seek deeper, more in-depth and solid word from God. In order to do
that, we have to do after more than the sips. We have to believe, honestly believe and
desire more – seek his face until new revelation comes.
We also cannot wait for someone to teach us these things. When we are taught, we are
relying on other peoples revelation, other peoples deeper desire for the word. We have
to be willing to dive in deep and find our own sources.

Psalms 63:1-8 KJVR A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God,
thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for
thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (2) To see thy power and thy glory, so
as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. (3) Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise thee. (4) Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in
thy name. (5) My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth
shall praise thee with joyful lips: (6) When I remember thee upon my bed, and
meditate on thee in the night watches. (7) Because thou hast been my help, therefore in
the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. (8) My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right
hand upholdeth me.

My soul follows hard after you; your right hand upholds me.

This situation did not come about because David heard about God from someone else.
He wanted more and went after it. David was not without wells, but he had grown to a
place where the old wells no longer satisfied, he needed fresh water.
