Term Registration from Session 2010-11 onwards (for continuing students):

a) Full payment of outstanding fee will be taken as term registration from Session 2010-11 onwards subject to fulfilment of other conditions as prescribed e.g. registration for elective courses etc.. There will be no other Registration or Reporting Process as followed in the past except for Honours & International programmes (i.e. programmes with twinning or international exposure) of 2010 batch. b) For continuing students, requests for extension in the payment of fee only in case of genuine reasons will be approved by the official authorised by the Executive Dean. Students requesting for extension in the payment of fee should apply in person and in writing (in original) on the specified proforma (as per Annexure I) and should submit the specified proforma (after getting it processed up till the level of HOS) to the Accounts Department before the expiry of due date for the payment of fee of the next term. c) For freshmen, requests for extension in the payment of fee will be approved by HOD, Department of Admissions for autumn term of their first year only. Note w .r. t. point (b) and (c) above: i. Without prior approval of the competent authority, no extension in the payment of fee may be assumed by the student. The student is therefore advised to initiate the process of seeking approval for extension in payment of fee at least two weeks before the expiry of the due date of payment of fee for the next term as prescribed by the University. ii. Extension in the payment of fee is a special gesture given by the University and the extension date should be adhered strictly. iii. Generally, extension once given will not be extended further. Only under adverse/exceptional circumstances the aforesaid process is to be followed again for seeking approval. iv. Any student, who has been allowed extension in the payment of fee, should make payment only through a Demand Draft and not through online mode. Only under adverse circumstances the student can make the fee payment through online mode. Student making online payment will be considered responsible for submitting the relevant documentary proof(s) himself to the Accounts Department, on or before the expiry of the extension granted, for necessary updation in his accounts in the University records. d) For calculating attendance percentage for all registered students, attendance will be calculated from date of commencement of classes in a term for the respective programme. e) For term registration, outstanding fee shall mean amount outstanding against tuition fee, hostel fee, transport fee, fines and any other fees/charges (as applicable). f) Following are the cases that might arise regarding term registration:

i. Case I: A continuing student who has paid full fee for the immediate next term The continuing student, who has paid the full fee for the immediate next term, will be considered as registered for that term and will be shown as an Active student for that term. A student may report for classes at any time that he wishes but it is advised that the student should report from the beginning of a term as no relaxation in attendance will be given. Such student will be required to meet the minimum attendance requirement as per university rules to become eligible for appearing in the End Term Examinations (ETEs). Any component of CA (e.g. assignment, test, presentation, etc.) missed due to non- attendance or late joining of classes will not be rescheduled and the student will lose the marks of the components missed. ii. Case II: A continuing student who has paid partial / no fee for the immediate next term but has been allowed an extension by the competent authority The continuing student, who has either paid partial fee or no fee for the immediate next term but has taken approval from the competent authority as defined in Pt. 3(b) will be considered as registered for that term and will be shown as an Active student for that term. A student may report for classes at any time that he wishes but it is advised that the student should report from the beginning of a term as no relaxation in attendance will be given. Such student will be required to meet the minimum attendance requirement as per university rules to become eligible for appearing in the End Term Examinations (ETEs). Any component of CA (e.g. assignment, test, presentation, etc.) missed due to non-attendance or late joining of classes will not be rescheduled and the student will lose the marks of the components missed. Such student is required to pay the outstanding fee on or before the last date of extension. If student fails to deposit the outstanding fee by the last date of extension: His attendance will be blocked from the immediate next day (after the expiry of last date of extension) and he will not be permitted to sit in the classes. Use of all university facilities will stand withdrawn from such student from that day onwards. The attendance will be re-activated/re-enabled only after payment of the outstanding fee (**including fine for late payment of fee) by the student in the Accounts Department. Only after reenabling of attendance the student will be allowed to attend the classes. In case the attendance is not re-activated/reenabled, the student should consult the Accounts Department for attendance activation. **Fine for late payment: Fine slabs shall be applicable from the expiry of the last date of payment of fee as originally prescribed by the University, assuming that the student has not taken any approval

for extension. No benefit of attendance lost will be given to such student during the period when his attendance was blocked due to non-payment of fee. iii. Case III: A continuing student who has not paid fee for the immediate next term and has not taken extension - A case of absence without information or prior approval. A continuing student, who has not paid the fee for the immediate next term and has not taken prior approval from the competent authority, as defined in Pt. 3(b), will be treated as a case of absence without information or prior approval. Such a student will not be considered as a registered student for that term and will not be permitted to attend classes. He will also not be permitted to use any university facility. Such student will be registered only after he deposits the full outstanding fee (along with penalties and other charges, as applicable) and his attendance will be enabled only after payment. Further, if such a student does not pay the outstanding fee and / or does not take extension for payment of fee from the competent authority as defined in Pt. 3(b) within 4 weeks from the start of a term, his registration number will be blocked and his status changed from an Active to Deactivated without any formal communication to him and/or to his parents. In case such a student wishes to continue the pursuance of the degree within the span period, he shall be required to apply in writing to the Division of Academic Affairs. On approval and depositing of the full term fee for all the terms that he has missed / not been registered for, plus Rs. 5000/- Continuing Enrolment Fee along with re-admission charges of Rs. 5000/, the students name will be reactivated on the rolls and his status changed from Deactivated to Active. Such students will also be required to submit a Gap Certificate and an Affidavit. A pursuance request that does not fall in the span period for that programme will not be considered for approval.
