A New Acropolis Initiative

Dear Sir/Madam Give, Grow, Glow- A Community Service Project On the occasion of Diwali; New Acropolis India (North) is happy to announce its first community service project; Give-Grow-Glow. Based around the central theme of Generosity; this project will involve facilitating an exchange of gifts between children from two different institutes; The Central Society for the Education of the Deaf and Anand Kendra, a shelter for homeless children. CSED works with children between the age group of 5-12 years. This institute, located in Mumbai Central is doing a great job in helping children with hearing impediments become capable of admission into regular schools. The other institute, Anand Kendra is a shelter for homeless children located at Worli. The children aged between 8-15 years; study in the nearby municipal school during the day and often work at night. These children although innately talented, their backgrounds often put limitations to their thinking and aspirations. Through this project, in our own little way, it will be our endeavour to help these two groups of children to realize that in spite of their own limitations they can still bring happiness into another persons life. Our idea is to allow these children to share and express their feelings through art and paintings. We will help the children make gifts, which will then be exchanged with the children from the other group and vice versa. Give, Grow, Glow-Project Details Scheduled to take place over two separate sessions on the 20th of October and the 3rd of November. Each session will be conducted by our members, who will assist the children in creating drawings and paintings on cloth bags. These bags will then be filled with toys and gifts and exchanged with the children of the other group. The sessions promise to be loud, colourful and packed with a lot of fun learning and interactions.

An Introduction to New Acropolis New Acropolis is an international organization of a philosophical, cultural and social nature. It was founded in 1957 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) by historian and philosopher Jorge ngel Livraga Rizzi (1930-1991). It has branches in over 50 countries on all five continents. Established on the foundations of Practical Philosophy and Universal Fraternity, members of New Acropolis are driven by their fundamental respect for human dignity beyond racial, sexual, cultural, religious or socio-economic differences. We respect, but transcend diversity and find unity in a set of common ethical principles. At New Acropolis, philosophy does not remain intellectual food for thought. Instead our scholastic progress reflects in our cultural and volunteer endeavours. We maintain a heightened state of awareness of the world around us, devoting ourselves to the improvement of the Human Condition by aligning ourselves with the Laws of Nature. Worldwide New Acropolis is involved with social and philanthropic activities such as food collection campaigns, art workshops, cleaning of monuments and parks, as well as disaster rescue operations.
