In Solidarity with the Occupy Movement JOIN US for a Week of Action: November 9 18th 2011
Its Time to Make Banks, Corporations, and the Rich PAY NOT THE 99%! We need jobs, affordable quality healthcare, great schools, and new rules that benefit US - the 99%!
Action on Chase Bank WED 11/9, 12pm, corner of San Fernando and Market in front of the Cathedral. Support ACCE member Gloria Takla, a victim of predatory lending who will demand Chase give her an affordable loan modification. Tax the Rich Townhall! THURS. 11/10, 6:30-8:00pm, Franklin McKinley School District, 645 Wool Creek Dr. Tired of Budget Cuts? We are too! Make Corporations and the Rich Pay their Fair Share to Fix the California State Budget. Honor Scott Olsen FRI., 11/11/11, 10:15am: San Jose State, Martin Luther King Library 150 E. San Fernando Street. Come honor Scott Olsen, an Iraq War Veteran who suffered a skull fracture from a police tear gas canister during the Occupy Oakland demonstrations. Shift the Billions spent on wars to priorities for the 99%! Support Occupy San Jose SUN, 11/13, 12pm: San Jose City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara Street. If you are interested in participating in Occupy San Jose, join them for their General Assembly at noon. There will be a march to the courthouse where corporate personhood was first decided at 2pm. Action on Wells Fargo TUES., 11/15, 12pm: Corner of Story and King Roads. Support ACCE member Rhina Alfaro as she demands that Wells Fargo give her an affordable loan modification. Press Conference at the Western Trailer Park WED., 11/16, 10:45-11:15am: 2784 Monterey Highway. Tired of renters/ owners being taken advantage of by wealthy landowners? Support Sacred Heart community leaders in pressing for livable conditions at what Vice Mayor Nguyen calls San Jose's "worst trailer park, owned by a multi-millionaire. Inside Job Film Screening WED., 11/16, 6-8pm: SJSU campus Rm TBD. Join Next Gen Bay Area at a screening of "Inside Job," a 2010 documentary about how the systemic corruption of bad policies and deliberate bad practices by banks and other financial institutions created the financial crisis. Tax the Rich SJCC Town Hall THURS., 11/17, 10:45am-12:15pm: San Jose City College, Rm TBD. Join San Jose City College students and teachers in a town hall on taxing the rich and making sure that everyone pays their fair share!

FRI., 11/18, 9-11am: Hyatt Regency, 5101 Great American Parkway in Santa Clara. Join unjustly fired hotel workers protest this abusive hotel corporation.
