CP: In life, they lacked all moderation in regulating their expenses; they destroyed the light of God within themselves by thinking of nothing but money. Thus in death, their souls are encumbered by dead weights (mundanity) and one excess serves to punish the other. Their souls, moreover, have become so dimmed and awry in their fruitless rages that there is no hope of recognizing any among them. They stopped the flow of fortune, in return, they are forever rolled in circles with rocks and boulders attached to them. So in hell their very bodies are constantly being taken from them, and they are left to steal back a human form from some other sinner. When you are poor (snake), you steal to be rich (human). When you are rich (human), poor people steal from you and make you poor.
