Thank you for downloading Velvet Sky Theme. Please follow our simple step-by-step guide for installing and customizing the theme.

VELVET SKY THEME [PRESTASHOP 1.4.2.5]

Velvet Sky is a free e-commerce theme created by DapurPixel. We released it for two platforms: Prestashop and Wordpress. Velvet Sky has a glamour design that stands out for online store. This theme is released under Creative Commons.

UPLOAD FILES

Please follow these installation instructions: 1. Unzip the velvetsky-theme.zip file. 2. Copy the content of /themes folder to the new /themes folder. 3. Copy the content of /modules folder to the new /modules folder.

APPEARANCE

You can configure the store appearance by login to your Prestashop admin panel, click on Preferences, and then click Appearance. On Appearance section, you can upload different type of logos for your store. Open velvetsky-theme/props/logo-files and upload these images to the correct upload forms. 1. You can adjust logo size and position on themes/velvetsky/global.css on line 211 and 216. 2. Upload other logo image to Mail logo and Invoice Logo. These images will appear on e-mail and invoice headers. 3. Upload your favicon.ico to Favicon. This image will appear in the address bar of your web browser. 4. Upload your transparent (GIF) logo to Store icon. This image will appear on the store locator (inside Google Maps). 5. Click Save.

On Themes section, choose the velvetsky theme. Dont forget to click the Save button. On Themes section, choose the velvetsky theme. Dont forget to click the Save button.

MODULE

The VelvetSky theme uses custom modules. You can see the modules in Back Office > Modules. Some of these modules need to be configured to make it works. [IMPORTANT] Smarty Compile in Prestashop 1.4


Follow these simple steps to enable Force Compile and disable cache in admin panel when you are still in theme development process. Go to Back Office > Preferences > Performance On Smarty section, enable Force Compile and disable Cache Or, you can delete cache manually in /tools/smarty/compile directory.

MODULES ON HEADER

To configure module positions: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open Search and Filter tab and then uninstall Quick Search block. We do not need this module since we will have it from Julien Breux Menu module. Open Front Office Features tab and find Julien Breux Menu. Install this module.

Advance Top Menu

First, install Menu v2.7.1 module and then click Configure.

First, install Menu v2.7.1 module and then click Configure. Add New Menu To add a menu, in Add Menu box do as the following: 1. Type. Choose one of the desired menu item type. 2. Parent Item. This one will show the menu list which has been created or had exist before. Choose the parent item for the item to be listed as child menu. 3. CSS ID. This option will come in handy if you want to have distinctive menu in the menu list. 4. Title. Fill the desired title for created menu. It will show as the menu in the menu list. 5. Must be logged. Check if you want to restrict unregistered member to access the menu. 6. Icon. Upload the icon for the menu. Its up to your preference for image size and type, but up to 48x48 pixels size and .png or .gif format recommended.

Top of Pages Module Positions


Go to Back Office > Modules > Positions and rearrange module in Top of Pages as shown in image below.

ATTENTION

Please uninstall the Quick Search Block module and make sure Menu v2.7 (JBX Menu) module positioned at the bottom.

MODULES ON HOMEPAGE
To configure module positions on homepage: Go to Back Office > Modules.

Install these following modules:


- JQuery Nivo Slider - Combo Slider on the Homepage - Block Advertising Home - Block Newsletter

Uninstall these modules:

- Home text editor - Featured Products on the homepage

JQuery NIVO SLIDER


To add images in homepage slider, open the Front Office Features tab and click Configure on JQuery Nivo Slider. You can add up to four images on the slideshow. Default size for slideshow image is 940 x 404 pixels.

All uploaded images will be stored in /modules/slideric folder and automatically renamed as en0.jpg, en1.jpg, en2.jpg and en3.jpg respectively. Two letters (en) in front of each numbers is the language ISO code. If you install other languages, then you need to copy the images and enlinks.xml and rename it with the appropriate ISO code.

Combo Slider on Homepage

To set number of products to be displayed: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open the Front Office Features tab, find Combo Slider on Homepage, and click Configure.

Block Advertising Home

To add advertising image and link: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open the Advertising & Marketing tab and click Configure on Block Advertising Home.

Newsletter Block

To configure Newsletter Block: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open the Front Office Features tab and click Configure on Newsletter Block.

Homepage Content Module Positions


Go to Back Office > Modules > Positions and rearrange module in Homepage Content as shown in image below.

MODULES ON TOP OF PAGES


Block Banner

To add advertising image on top of pages and link: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open the Advertising & Marketing tab, find Block Banner module and click Configure.

MODULES ON FOOTER
CMS Block

Open the modules/blockcms/blockcms.tpl file to change the static content and links. To modified the dynamic content: Go to Back Office > Modules. Open the Front Office Features tab and click Configure on CMS Block.

In admin panel, click Modules, and then click Positions and then transplant all the modules required for this theme by clicking the Transplant a module link.

MODULES ON SIDEBAR

Position of modules in right column


Remove all of modules in Right column blocks and transplant it in Left column blocks if you need it.
