Goodyears UltraGrip 8 continues to set the standard for winter tires Four independent tests agree on tires solid

ability to stick to the road November, 2011 Brussels, Belgium Four independent tests run by leading car magazine Auto Motor und Sport, ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), Germany's largest automobile club and its Austrian counterpart AMTC (sterreichische Automobil-, Motorradund Touring Club) have revealed that Goodyears UltraGrip 8 is a force to be reckoned with in wet, icy and snowy conditions. The tests support similar conclusions drawn by independent tests earlier this year in Germanys AutoZeitung and GT magazines and Finlands1. UltraGrip 8, recently launched by Goodyear, is the latest model in the companys advanced winter tire offering. The new UltraGrip 8 is the first directional tire using patented 3D-BIS (Block Interlocking System) Technology throughout the entire tread pattern. It offers more grip, shorter braking distances and improved handling. In some situations, one meter shorter braking distance can make a big difference. Auto Motor und Sport2 tested Goodyears 205/55R16 91H, UltraGrip 8 tire in a test comparing it to 13 competitors using a Volkswagen Passat. As test winner it received the publications top rating in the category and was quoted as having no real weaknesses, being very good in all snow and wet criteria. ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), Germany's largest automobile club, also tested the UltraGrip 8 using a Skoda Octovia on 195/65 R 15 91T sized tires and on a Ford Fiesta using 175/65 R 14 82T sized tires3. Both tests gave Goodyears winter tires high marks with the 195/65 R 15 91T sized tires receiving a Good4 recommendation, with tests revealing good dry handling, aquaplaning and snow traction and the 175/65 R 14 82T sized tires given a satisfactory rating for its solid curved aquaplaning, efficient fuel consumption abilities and solid mileage. Austrian Automobile club AMTC also tested the companys UltraGrip 8 tires, giving the 195/65R15 91T sized UltraGrip 8 a Very recommendable status and the 175/65R14 82T sized tire a Recommendable rating5.
