Sold! The 5m 24ct gold and dinosaur bone iPad 2

SOURCE: NEWSLITE.TV

Earlier this year we told you about an Apple iPad 2 which had gone on sale for 5m after being pimped out with gold and dinosaur bones. Well Stuart Hughes, the jeweller who created it, says someones only gone and bought one! Featuring a 24ct gold back and 53 individually set sparkling gems making up the iconic Apple logo the device has been dubbed the iPad 2 Gold History. The front is made from Ammolite, 75 million-year-old rock which has been finished with T-REX Dinosaurs thigh bone. And while we doubted the device even existed, its now been reported that one has been sold to an undisclosed customer. So thats that then.

Sex toys and ash-filled urns among recycled items
SOURCE: NEWSLITE.TV

A London council has revealed a list of the strangest items residents have tried to recycle -- including sex toy and an urn containing ashes. Bosses at Enfield Council decided to produce a list of the top 10 strangest items placed in recycling bins in a bid to highlight the recycling properly. In addition to used nappies and tissues being placed in recycling bins, residents there also tried to recycle blow up dolls, vibrators and an urn containing ashes. Cllr Chris Bond, said: It beggars belief what some people have placed in their recycling. Other items on the list include dead pets, dumb bells and oil paintings Hopefully this wasnt all from the same family. Chris Bond continued: Its no laughing matter because if recycling is contaminated it has to be sent to landfill and it costs us a fortune to dispose of it. If one incorrect item is placed in the recycling container and our staff dont spot it, the whole ten tonne load of recycling could have to be sent to landfill, and that costs the Council 1,000 each time it happens. The strangest items placed in recycling bins in Enfield include: 1) Blow up dolls 2) Sex toys (vibrators) 3) An urn containing ashes 4) Used sanitary towels 5) Fish tank 6) 7) 8) 9) 10) A box of live maggots Plastic Christmas Tree in the organic waste bin Oil paintings Dumb bells Dead pets

Ryanair plans to screen in-flight pornography

Duo stole meatball sandwich from boy at gunpoint

Police in Pennsylvania say two men have been arrested after stealing a teenagers meatball sandwich at gunpoint. The dopey duo apparently robbed a 13-year-old-boy by threatening him with a gun and telling him to empty his pockets. But they then proceeded to take just his tasty meatball sandwich before fleeing in a nearby car. Officers say they soon arrested the sandwich-nabbing men because the teen called 911 from his mobile which the duo failed to take. Police say they recovered a gun and the sandwich its not clear what happened to the sandwich after it was taken into police custody.

The mile high club might not be just for couples much longer -- after Ryanair bosses announced plans to screen in-flight porn. Michael OLeary reportedly said the airline is looking at introducing a pornographic site which travellers could access on iPads or smartphones. Describing it as being like hotel room pay-TV services, he said the service could also offer gambling games. Its thought the service could take over a year to get off the ground -- if customers dont mind the idea of the people next to them watching porn. And knowing Ryanair, it would probably also start selling outlandishly priced boxes of tissues with the service.

Fears of Lion on the line prompt train delays

SOURCE: NEWSLITE.TV

News

Workers are only on top form one day per week

SOURCE: NEWSLITE.TV

Train passengers in Yorkshire couldnt believe their ears when they were told they couldnt exit a train -- because of reports of a lion on the loose. West Yorkshire Police had received a call from a woman driving in the village of Shepley, stating that she thought shed seen a lion. This prompted them to launch a 12 officer search for the beast and notify rail operators that it may not be safe for passengers to disembark at the nearby station. National Rail Enquiries said on Twitter: Passengers are currently unable to alight from trains at Shepley due to reports by police of a lion in the area. However officers were unable to find the elusive lion, and because no-one had reporting their lion going missing, the two-hour operation was called off. While police think the caller genuinely believed theyd seen a lion or lion cub, we think its more likely theres another soft toy on the loose.

The average Brit only feels at the top of their game for one day of the working week - and usually on a Tuesday, it has emerged. Researchers who studied the lifestyles of 2,000 adults found work stress, sleepless nights and money issues leave many of us unable to give 100 per cent every day. Tuesday morning at around 11.30am was identified as the point when most people feel at their most efficient, having struggled through Monday and come to terms with the weeks workload. Fridays and Mondays are our least efficient days, while Saturdays between 10.30am and 12.30pm emerged as the point when we are at our most relaxed, according to the research. So what do you think, were you at the top of your game this morning we know we werent. A spokesperson for Seven Seas Health Oils, which commissioned the poll, said: Feeling stretched and overwhelmed often impacts on our health, especially if its for long periods of time. The study also found four out of ten feel exhausted at the end of the day with 35 per cent admitting they struggle to find a good balance between their personal and work life. Six out of ten blamed work pressure for not performing during the week while 36 per cent said money problems often distracted them from their work. One in 20 said they never feel as if they have managed to keep on top of everything. Friday afternoons are the point at which we are most likely to leave emails unanswered and ignore people with one in five admitting they find themselves cutting corners as the weekend approaches. Thirty seven per cent confessed to nipping off early most Fridays if they could while 21 per cent took a long lunch. Brits are most likely to stay late on a Wednesday and get in early on a Monday morning - the point at which they are also most organised.

Squirrel stashed hundreds of acorns in car engine

SOURCE: NEWSLITE.

When a driver in Hampshire couldnt start their car, they assumed there was a mechanical problem and called a rescue service. But the fault was actually due to a squirrel preparing for winter by stashing hundreds of nuts in the air intake pipe and box. AA man Andy Smith said: When I looked over the car there was no obvious fault. I tried all the usual things but was left puzzled when nothing worked. However, spotting an air pipe collapsing while the engine was being revved Andy took the air intake off and the cause of the problem became immediately apparent. The pipe and air box were literally rammed with acorns they just poured out, he said. The air intake is about the width of a drinks can, so the squirrel obviously thought it made the perfect secret stash. He used a handheld vacuum cleaner to clear out the last of the debris and, once reassembled, the car was as good as new. Before leaving, Andy briefed the member on how to check for any future squirrel sabotage. Andy says: Its certainly one of the nuttiest breakdowns Ive ever been out to we couldnt stop laughing but I just hope the wee thing has plenty of other stashes buried away for the winter. 4 BuGils Bi-Weekly - Issue #45 - November 16, 2011

De Hooi
Im supposed to be writing a newsletter, right? If I wrote the news of De Hooi every week it would probably get boring pretty fast. So and so had a birthday By the way, Happy Birthday Putra! Putras been coming to De Hooi since soon after De Hooi opened and is part of our extended family. Other news might be Harry kicked some more underage drinkers out of De Hooi. I dont know what the appeal is with all these kids that want to drink at De Hooi. When I first started working at De Hooi we werent so busy and I didnt feel the need to check IDs. Everything was mellow and most of the time everybody was content with the music that was playing. The customers that I did have were so regular I didnt mind them playing whatever they liked. Then De Hooi became more and more popular and we opened the second floor and it was impossible for me to keep track of all the new people. Time just kept flying and I noticed my customers getting younger and younger. Younger to the point to where teachers were telling me that my customers were their students. Me being from a country where you can get in a lot of trouble for underage drinking and because of feedback from my regular customers De Hooi will now be randomly checking identification. Indonesian bottles of beer say you must be 21 and not pregnant to drink. Considering beer companies want to sell their product to as many people as possible Im going to assume that is the legal drinking age here in Indonesia. But I would like to invite people of all ages to come in before 5 to enjoy our tasty food. I would also like to point out that De Hooi is not a night club. We are a pub. We do song requests but we dont do genre requests. De Hooi does have some R&B songs on its playlist that will play randomly but we mostly play pop, classic rock, alternative, 80s, 90s and a little bit of everything else. If you can think of a cool song please dont be shy to request it as long as its not R&B. I feel a little like I have been ranting but I just wanted to set the record straight. I would also like to invite all the BIS and JIS teachers back and any other school teachers back that didnt feel comfortable drinking alongside their students and to ensure my regular customers that De Hooi is now a place for legal age drinkers. De Hooi still has all its great daily promos and live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thanks for making De Hooi Southern Jakartas favorite beer joint.

Cheers,

Harry

ALERTS TO THREATS IN 2011 EUROPE

BY JOHN CLEESE
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Libya and have therefore raised their security level from Miffed to Peeved. Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to Irritated or even A Bit Cross. The English have not been A Bit Cross since the blitz in 1940 whentea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from Tiresometo A Bloody Nuisance. The last time the British issued a Bloody Nuisance warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from Pissed Off to Lets get the Bastards. They dont have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from Run to Hide. The only two higher levels in France are Collaborate and Surrender. The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France s white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the countrys military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from Shout Loudly and Excitedly to Elaborate Military Posturing. Two more levels remain: Ineffective Combat Operations and Change Sides. The Germans have increased their alert state from Disdainful Arrogance to Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs. They also have two higher levels: Invade a Neighbour and Lose. Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussells. The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from No worries to Shell be alright, Mate. Two more escalation levels remain: Crikey! I think well need to cancel the barbie this weekend! and The barbie is cancelled. So far no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.
