Assignment FAQs For All the Batches Q How many subjects are covered in online assignment? A. For all active batches (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) the assignments specific to semesters have been uploaded and released. Students need to login in to student center to attempt these Q How many attempts are allowed for one subject? A. Students of 2004/2005/2006/2007 batch are allowed to submit three attempts for each subject, however owing to changes in the academic policy, 2008 batch students have to submit only two attempts for each subject i.e. (Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II). Q What is the new methodology for 2008 batch for online assignment? A. Students for 2008 batch would have two assignment parts for one particular subject i.e. (Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II), in which Assignment Part-I would have two attempts & Assignment Part-II would also have two attempts, every attempt has 24 questions with N number of session breaks in it. All questions are compulsory. Q What would be the time period for one single assignment attempt? A. For 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 batch each assignment has to be completed in 1 hour For 2008 batch each assignment has to be completed within 40 mins. Q How many number of questions are to be attempted & what would-be the passing marks to clear an assignment? A. Students for 2004/2005 batch need to attempt 47 questions and have to score minimum 50 marks for passing. Students for 2006/2007 batch needs to attempt 48 questions & 50 marks should be scored to clear an assignment. Students for 2008 batch needs to attempt 24 questions & 25 marks should be scored to clear an assignment. For some subjects we have been provided two books for the same course or subject, is it compulsory to prepare from both the books to attempt for an assignment? A. Yes, student has to prepare from both the books for the course/subject, Eg: 2008 batch has Management accounting as one of the subject in their curriculum for which there are 2 books provided i.e. Management Accounting Part-I & Management Accounting Part-II, so the student has to attempt for Assignment Part-I preparing from both the books & similarly attempt for Assignment Part-II. Q What happens if I use all THREE or TWO attempts and I have still failed the assignment? A. Student will get an extra attempt to clear the assignment on SCDLs discretion. For consideration, student needs to download the SRF form from the website (www.scdl.net), fill in the Section A (compulsory), Section C (Point 5) & Section E ( DD has to be attached) & the DD amount should be Rs 100 per subject and it should be drawn in favor of The Director SCDL, Pune. Student has to mention the name, registration no# or paste the barcode on the reverse side of the DD and has to submit along with the Service Request Form to SCDL. Q What happens if there is a power failure or internet connection is lost half way through the assignment? A. For 2006 onwards your attempt will be considered as Incomplete attempt. Questions you have answered till that point is recorded in the system. Next time you log on to give the remaining assignments you can see the statistics of the questions you have answered in last session. By Clicking the continue button you can start the assignment from that point onwards if you have anymore sessions left. Q What happens if I cannot complete all my assignments within the given time period (Assignment time period 2 hour/1 hour/ 40mins)? A. Your assignment is considered as complete attempt even if you have not answered all the questions. Q Are all questions objective type? A. Yes, all questions are objective type. Q Will the questions be only from the study material? A. Mostly the questions would be asked from SLM, e-learning content & some practically implemented questions. Q Are there any negative markings for evaluating the assignments? A. No, there are no negative markings. Q What are the types of Questions? Q

A. There are 5 types of questions in the assignment: Bracket figures show marks for each questions. True of False [2 Marks] You have to select one correct answer. Match the following [5 marks for 06/07 batch] & [4 marks for 2008 batch] You have to type/select the correct answer in right hand list Select Multiple Choices [2 Marks] You have to click relevant options you feel correct from the given list. Select Single Options [2 Marks] You have to click only one option from the given list. Fill in the blanks [2 Marks] Click on the dropdown box to see the list of words for the blank space. Select correct option. Q What would be the final marks considered for an assignment for which students have attempted more than once A. The highest marks scored in an attempt out of the number of attempts attempted would be considered for any particular assignment. Q For 2008 batch is it mandatory to clear both the assignments (Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II)? A. Yes, the student has to score minimum 25 marks in each assignment exclusively (Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II). Q When Can I see my assignment results? A. You can see your assignment result immediately after you finish the assignment. You are requested to take the Print of the score card for future reference. To your performance sheet in Student Centre the score will get updated within 24 hours. Q For 2008 batches what would be the syllabus content for Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II? A. One has to study the entire chapters of a particular subject/ book to attempt for any assignment i.e. either Assignment Part I & Assignment Part II. Q After clicking on online assignment tab through the student centre, no new window opens & the following message is displayed. Please confirm what might be the problem?

A Here the problem is that the pop-up blockers are turned on, which should be turned off. A pop-up (sometimes called a pop-up killer) is a program that prevents new windows from displaying in a users web browser. Q A What is the process to turn-off the pop-up blocker? One can open the Internet Explorer on the tool menu, point to pop-up blocker and then click pop-up blocker setting, here you can turn on or turn off the pop-up blocker. More simple way is installing goggle toolbar which has button named Pop-up blocker which needs to be turned-off to view the assignment page

Q After selecting a particular subject the screen appearing is blank. What might be the problem? A. The one of the reason for the screen appearing blank might be because of the below mentioned reason: The language selected to view the assignment is not English. This happens because the other language is not installed on the particular machine. To download the said assignment the language has to be selected as English (en, from the dropdown list) & again click on the subject to proceed further. One can use 8.0 or more version for flash player What should be the minimum internet speed required? 256Mbps or above speed is required.
