1. Plot : The author shows the story by a girl named Sylvia. One day while walking home with her cow Mistress Moolly, she has been approached by a hunter who is looking Ior a type oI bird named Heron. Sylvia brings him home with her and her grandmother oIIers him good hospitality as a guest. He explains that he will pay some money Ior anyone who can bring him to the bird`s nest. Initially, Sylvia agreed to help but things turn out diIIerently when she discovers the uniqueness oI the bird herselI. The hunter goes home sadly.
2. Theme : The theme is basically about making decision in liIe. Sylvia has to decide whether she wants to reveal about the heron`s nest to the hunter or just to keep it to herselI. She is stuck between her love to nature and the needs oI money.
3. Characterization : It is done Irom the third person point oI view. It means the narrator can explain the story Irom diIIerent view oI diIIerent characters. O Sylvia Reserved person. Introvert. Nature lovers. O Hunter Aggressive, Determine,
4. Language style : The author uses simple and precise sentences and words. The tone is also serious throughout the whole story. The other tone would be sentimental which takes place towards the end oI the story when Sylvia started to Iall in love with what she managed to Iind, which is the location oI the white heron`s nest . She is taken aback with what she sees. The beautiIul scenery oI the place just like a dream.
5. General Comments: For me this story really portrays good moral values to readers. Money is not everything. We still have to consider diIIerent aspects in liIe. Through Sylvia`s character we know she is a wise person. She thinks deeply beIore making any decision whether to tell or not to tell the hunter about the location oI the heron`s nest. She thinks about all the consequences that might happen to birds iI she tell the hunter about it.

1. Plot : Lisa Gallagher is on her mission to meet up with her Iather at Alaska Ior their summer backpacking edition together. UnIortunately, the plane she is in Iacing problems with its engine and this lead Lisa to take out Irom it. AIter being alone all by herselI and waiting Ior someone to rescue her, something happen. 2. Theme : An attempt made by Lisa in order to survive Irom danger. Lisa tries her very best to run oII herselI Irom the danger she is Iacing in the jungle. The experience is hard Ior her. It show by the sentence describe by the author '..........my brain would jerk me out oI it, shouting Danger.... Danger is everywhere Ior her.
3. Characterization : The story is narrated Irom the Iirst person point oI view. The character main character is Lisa. She is a developing character. Initially Irom the very beginning oI the story she tends to be so eager to approach anyone she sees just Ior the sake oI asking Ior help. Until by the time she meets with the Red Beard, everything changes. She become more aware oI danger she might Iace.
4. Language Style : The author uses simple words which are comprehensible. There is a lot oI nervousness in this story. The author makes the reader want to read more and know what is happening next. Example: 'I wondered iI they had been observing me? Was one oI them Lattimore?
5. General Comments : This story somehow teaches me how to we have to be cool and calm in every situation we are Iacing. Fear and misery will only kill` us. We should be smart to escape Irom any danger. There will be always a way to any problem. Face it and we will be just Iine. Never let our Iear stops us Irom anything. Move Iorward and get it over.
Title : Out on the River. Author: David Coward (1992) 1. Plot : The story begins with the 1 st persona rented a country house on the banks oI the Seine. He managed to talk to his neighbour who is a Iisherman. The Iisherman shares his experience about the river. The Iisherman the river is something mystery. We could not really imagine what it is really like. The Iisherman tells how he survive Irom mystery situation all alone by himselI on one particular night which Iinally leads him to discover a dead body oI an old woman with a large stone tied around her neck.
2. Theme : The mystery oI the river which could not be explained by words. DiIIerent people might have diIIerent idea about it. Even though the river seems so calm but it keeps a lot oI stories. The Iisherman explains how the river might be a graveyard Ior people who do not have grave; we might hear sound we never heard, and other mysterious thing.

Characterization : From the very beginning oI the story, the story is narrated Irom the third person point oI view which is the persona is reIerring the situation to his neighbour which is the Iisherman. AIter that throughout the rest oI the story, it is narrated Irom the perspective oI the Iirst person which is the Iisherman. The dynamic character would be the Iisherman.
4. Language and style : The story consists oI simple words and sentences. The author also uses symbol so that readers can image what the situation really look like. For example, the sentence:
'And high up, above my head, full looming, a huge shining moon hung in a milky, blue-washed sky.`
5. General comments : The story teaches me the diIIerent perspective oI a river itselI. Normally people relate river to be a place which looks calm and beautiIul but the meaning oI river Irom a Iisherman`s point oI view is diIIerent. River is a mysterious place which stores many untold story.
