FORWARD I used to start every morning by spending almost two hours devouring the local newspaper. After I'd read about all the murders, rapes, embezzlements, drug overdoses and all other manner of mayhem, I'd head to the office --- and always wondered why I felt so bad when I got there. For over ten years now I've started every day by reading an inspirational or motivational thought of the day, and it's amazing what's happened in my life...or is it? Vic Johnson

Kids At Heart Photography is pleased to bring you this collection of Inspirational Quotes & Stories. As Vic Johnson said above, its amazing the effect that positive inspirational and motivational thoughts can have on us. Every great athlete goes through Peaks and Valleys in their daily lives. Thats why they have a coach to keep them motivated and inspired. To keep up in a down world, whos coaching you? We hope that everyday you take a few minutes to read a few of these quotes and stories and that these Masters will be your Coach. -Dale Richardson

1. Desire: A young man approached Socrates and asked, "How do I become as wise as you?" Socrates walked the young man to the beach and when they reached the ocean, Socrates pushed the young man under water and held his head under the water. The young man fighting desperately pulled himself up, gurgling and grasping for air. Socrates pushed him underwater again. The young man, once again began to fight to air. The young man surfaced, his lungs bursting, on the verge of passing out, gulping for air. Socrates said, "Young man, when you want knowledge as much as you just want air, you will get it!" -----------------------2. "Your mind is the greatest home entertainment center ever created. It requires contemplative silence to really discover who you truly are. You have immense talents, resources and abilities that are untapped." -Mark Victor Hansen --------------------3. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain --------------------4. "The reason most people spend their time on low priority "busy work" is that it's easier to do and does not require additional knowledge, skills or coordination with someone else. Set your priorities on a "must-do-now," "should-do-today," and "need-to-do-when-possible" basis. Set them every day, no later than the early morning of the day you are beginning - preferably, the last action of the previous day." -Denis Waitley --------------------5. "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead were there is no path and leave a trail." -Ralph Waldo Emerson ----------------------6. "There are two big forces at work, external and internal. We have very little control over external forces... (such as tornados, earthquakes, floods, disasters, illness and pain.) What really matters is the internal force. How do I respond to those disasters? Over that I have complete control." -Leo Buscaglia -----------------------

7. Winner's Blueprint for Achievement BELIEVE while others are doubting. PLAN while others are playing. STUDY while others are sleeping. DECIDE while others are delaying. PREPARE while others are daydreaming. BEGIN while others are procrastinating. WORK while others are wishing. SAVE while others are wasting. LISTEN while others are talking. SMILE while others are frowning. COMMEND while others are criticizing. PERSIST while others are quitting." William Arthur Ward ----------------------8. Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get. -Ray Kroc ----------------------9. We are not animals. We are not a product of what has happened to us in our past. We have the power of choice. -Stephen Covey ----------------------10. "We intend to take action when the idea strikes us. We intend to do something when the emotion is high. But if we don't translate that intention into action fairly soon, the urgency starts to diminish. A month from now the passion is cold. A year from now it can't be found. So take action. Set up a discipline when the emotions are high and the idea is strong, clear, and powerful. If somebody talks about good health and you're motivated by it, you need to get a book on nutrition. Get the book before the idea passes, before the emotion gets cold. Begin the process. Fall on the floor and do some push-ups. You've got to take action; otherwise the wisdom is wasted." -Jim Rohn ----------------------11. "The average person has four ideas a year which, if any one is acted on, would make them a millionaire." -Brian Tracy -----------------------

12. "When our forefathers stepped off the Mayflower, they didn't say, "Where's my healthcare". They said, "Thank God for the opportunity". They lived a life of responsibility, not a life of entitlement! -Eric Worre ----------------------13. "Successful People do (3) things that unsuccessful people do not do. One, successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Two, successful people play where the opportunity is at. Three, successful people live outside of their comfort zone." -Jeff Olsen ----------------------14. "Success is not an accident. Success is not luck. Success is not something that comes to you. You must go after success. The path of success is well marked. The path is well traveled. The good news is that you can walk the path to success if you follow the steps of those who have traveled the path before you." -Nido Qubein ----------------------15. "Mistakes are painful when they happen, but years later a collection of mistakes is what is called experience." -Denis Waitley ----------------------16. "Everyone has unique talents that make us stand out from the crowd. Some people possess the ability to sing - but no one does it in the exact same way. Others are brilliant painters - but each has his or her own flair with the brush that allows them to create individual masterpieces. There are plenty of motivational speakers out there, but each has their own philosophy on how to help others achieve their goals. Whatever your talent is, you should craft it, nourish it and build on it. It is the "niche talent" that will take you to the top of your field." -Mark Victor Hansen ----------------------17. "The person who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure thing boat never gets far from shore." -Dale Carnegie ----------------------18. "Most time is wasted, not in hours, but in minutes. A bucket with a small hole in the bottom gets just as empty as a bucket that is deliberately kicked over." -Paul J. Meyer -----------------------

19. "Now, it stands to reason that a person who is thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal is going to reach it, because that's what he's thinking about. And we become what we think about. Conversely, the man who has no goal, who doesn't know where he's going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion and anxiety and fear and worry, becomes what he thinks about. His life becomes one of frustration and fear and anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing, he becomes nothing. So decide now. What is it you want? Plant your goal in your mind. It's the most important decision you'll ever make in your entire life. All you've got to do is plant that seed in your mind, care for it, and work steadily toward your goal, and it will become a reality." ' -Earl Nightingale ----------------------20. "The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to use the stairs... one step at a time." -Joe Girard ----------------------21. "Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone." -Robert Allen ----------------------22. The Essence Of Survival: Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or else it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or else it will starve to death. It does not matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you had better be running! ----------------------23. "The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Winston Churchill ----------------------24. "One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular." -Tony Robbins -----------------------

25. "Fundamentals are those basic principles on which all accomplishment is built. Fundamentals are the beginning, the basis, the reality from which everything else flows. Success is no more than the natural consequence of consistently applying the "fundamentals of success" to life. First-There are no new fundaments. Second-There are usually about a half-dozen things that make 80% of the difference. Key Though: "A Half-Dozen" Things. The difference between triumphant success or bitter failure lies in the degree of our commitment to seek out, study and apply those "Half-Dozen things. A good question to ask before undertaking any new project or setting a new objective is: What are the Half-Dozen Things that will make the most difference to the outcome?" -Jim Rohn ----------------------26. "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." -Thomas Edison ----------------------27. "The fool wonders, the wise man asks." -Benjamin Disraeli ----------------------28. "Fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired that you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped." -James Corbett ----------------------29. "You miss a 100 percent of the shots you dont take." -Wayne Gretzky ----------------------30. "Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before." -Jacob A. Riis -----------------------

31. "Start by realizing you have the power at any moment to change anything and everything in your life SIMPLY BY DECIDING TO. This concept is so simple it escapes most of us. If you truly decide to, you could do almost anything. You can make a decision now that could immediately change your quality of life, a decision about a habit you will change, about a skill you will master, about how you'll treat people, or a call you will now make to someone you haven't spoken to in years or someone who could take your career to the next level. Or you could make a decision to experience and cultivate the joyous and positive emotions that you deserve to experience daily. Make a decision now." -Tony Robbins ----------------------32. "You can't build your reputation on what you're going to do." -Henry Ford ----------------------33. "The discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen." -Lee Iacocca ----------------------34. "Stop reliving past failures. Your past does not dictate your future. You can choose. Living in the past is a habit. Also know that you don't really decide your future. You choose your daily habits and disciplines. And, those daily habits and disciplines decide your future." -Tom Hopkins ----------------------35. "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." -Zig Ziglar ----------------------36. "I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Over 25 times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot . . . and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." -Michael Jordan ----------------------37. "Where many people go wrong in trying to reach their goals is in constantly looking for the big hit, the home run, the magic answer that suddenly transforms their dreams into reality. The problem is that the big hit never comes without a great deal of little hits first. Success in most things comes not from some gigantic stroke of fate, but from simple, incremental progress." -Andrew Wood -----------------------

38. "Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have." -Louis E. Boone ----------------------39. "What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say." -Ralph Waldo Emerson ----------------------40. "When we say, nearly five percent of men and women achieve success, then we have to define success. The following is the best definition we've found: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. If a person is working toward a predetermined goal and knows where to go, then that person is successful. If a person does not know which direction they want to go in life, then that person is a failure. Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Therefore, who succeeds? The only person who succeeds is the person who is progressively realizing a worthy ideal. The person who says, 'I'm going to become this'. and then begins to work toward becoming it." -Earl Nightingale ----------------------41. "Ive had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened." -Mark Twain ----------------------42. "All of our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney ----------------------43. "The person with a fixed goal, a clear picture of his desire, or an ideal always before him, causes it, through repetition, to be buried deeply in his subconscious mind and is thus enabled, thanks to its generative and sustaining power, to realize his goal in a minimum of time and with a minimum of physical effort. Just pursue the thought unceasingly. Step by step you will achieve realization, for all your faculties and powers become directed to that end." -Claude M. Bristol ----------------------44. "Begin each day with this question: What am I going to do today that will make the best use of my time and energy, and lead me a step closer to reaching my goals?" -Denis Waitley -----------------------

45. "You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay?" -Jim Rohn ----------------------46. "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, ANYTHING YOU WANT... BUT ONLY IF YOU ONLY ASK! Think about it - all that is standing in the way of you receiving everything you want out of life is YOU asking for it. A simple request from your heart to the Universe will bring to you what you desire. And the best part is that the Universe wants more for you than you could ever imagine for yourself." -Mark Victor Hansen ----------------------47. "Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right." -Henry Ford ----------------------48. "What is the most important thing that you should do right now? It's easy to figure out the answer-the most important thing is usually the item you least want to do. So jump on it. Get it out of the way. Then go on to the next thing you don't want to do and get rid of that item by completing it. You'll be amazed at how it frees your spirit not to have them hanging over you." -Tom Hopkins ----------------------49. "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." -Ralph Waldo Emerson ----------------------50. "Read an hour every day in your chosen field. This works out to about one book per week, 50 books per year, and will guarantee your success." -Brian Tracy ----------------------51. "Persistence becomes a way of life, but that is not where it begins. To develop the mental strength persistence - you must first want something. You have to WANT something so much that it becomes a heated desire ... a passion in your belly. At this point, persistence will be virtually automatic." -Bob Proctor -----------------------

52. "If you've ever hiked a fourteen thousand-foot peak in the Rocky Mountains, one thought has surely come to mind "How did the settlers of this country do it?" How did they get from the East Coast to the West Coast? Carrying one day's supply of food and water is hard enough. Can you imagine hauling all of your worldly goods with you...mile after mile, day after day, month after month? These people had big dreams. They had ambition. They didn't focus on the hardship of getting up the mountain. You've got to be a dreamer. You've got to envision the future. You've got to see California while you're climbing fourteen thousand-foot peaks. You've got to see the finish line while you're running the race. You've got to hear the cheers when you're in the middle of a monster project. And you've got to be willing to put yourself through the paces of doing the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable and until you realize your dreams." -Jim Rohn ----------------------53. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein ----------------------54. Talent will not; Genius will not; Education will not; Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." -Calvin Coolidge ----------------------56. "So long as there is breath in me, that long I will persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles of success; if I persist long enough I will win." -Og Mandino ----------------------57. "A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done." Vince Lombardi -----------------------

58. "It is because of your belief system that you are where you are in life right now. You have created your success or failure with the beliefs that you have established within yourself. Most people would be astounded to know how many of their beliefs are based on lack, limitation, and shortage - and that these thoughts reproduce themselves directly into their life experiences. You owe it to yourself to think only of unlimited prosperity, because abundance is reality. There is no lack, no shortage. There are no limits except for those we impose on ourselves. Prosperity doesn't start with someone or something outside of you. Your success or failure begins and ends with you." -Mark Victor Hansen ----------------------59. "Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something." -Plato ----------------------60. "You'll have time to rest when you're dead." -Robert De Niro ----------------------61. "My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success." -Helen Hayes ----------------------62. "The U.S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. You have to catch up with it yourself." -Benjamin Franklin ----------------------63. "Success is not measured by what you accomplish but by the opposition you have encountered, and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds." -Orison Swett Marden ----------------------64. "Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day; while failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day. It is the accumulative weight of our disciplines or our neglects that leads us to either fortune or failure." -Jim Rohn -----------------------

65. "Every great achievement of mankind has been preceded by a long period of hard, concentrated work until the job was done. Single handling requires that once you begin, you keep working at the task, without diversion or distraction, until the job is 100% complete. You keep urging yourself onward by repeating the words "Back to work!" over and over whenever you are tempted to stop or do something else." -Brian Tracy ----------------------66. "In the long run, men hit only what they aim at. Therefore, they had better aim at something high." -Henry David Thoreau ----------------------67. Winston Churchill's famous advice to the pupils at Harrow school in 1941, when the U.S. had yet to enter the war and Britain stood largely alone against Hitler: "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never -- in nothing, great or small, large or petty -- never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense." -Winston Churchill ----------------------68. "Most people are seduced by the lure of the comfort zone. This can be likened to going out of a warm house on a cold, windy morning. The average person, when he feels the storm swirling outside his comfort zone, rushes back inside where it's nice and warm. But successful people have the courage to step away from the familiar and comfortable and to face the unknown with no guarantees of success." -Brian Tracy ----------------------69. "Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits." -Thomas Edison ----------------------70. "Prime time is that period between 6 and 10 p.m. during which most of the general public watches television. Your real success in life will take a quantum leap when you stop watching other people making money in their professions performing in prime time, and start living your own dreams and goals in prime time." -Denis Waitley ----------------------71. "There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till." -Ralph Waldo Emerson -----------------------

72. "In business or in football, it takes a lot of unspectacular preparation to produce spectacular results." -Roger Staubach ----------------------73. "Every life form seems to strive to its maximum except human beings. How tall will a tree grow? As tall as it possibly can. Human beings, on the other hand, have been given the dignity of choice. You can choose to be all or you can choose to be less. Why not stretch up to the full measure of the challenge and see what all you can do?" -Jim Rohn ----------------------74. "Shoot for the moon - even if you miss - you will land among the stars!" -Les Brown ----------------------75. "When you're in focus, your life takes on a new clarity. Just as a camera lens focuses light to form a photographic image, so your mind focuses your thoughts, feeling and actions to form a clear picture of who you are and where you're going." -Nido Qubein ----------------------76. "Fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. "Do a little more each day than you think you can." -Lowell Thomas ----------------------78. "I found that the men and women who got to the top were those who did the jobs they had in hand, with everything they had of energy and enthusiasm and hard work." -Harry S. Truman ----------------------79. "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." -Mark Twain -----------------------

80. "It frequently happens that we fail to begin a big job because of the mass of obstacles, real and imaginary, we see in our way. Don't concern yourself with tomorrow's problems. Leave them for tomorrow. Concern yourself with those things you know you should be doing today...Take them one at a time." -Earl Nightingale ----------------------81. "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will." The Green Bay Packers never lost a football game. There was a traveler in ancient Greece who met an old man on the road and the traveler asked the old man how he could get to Mount Olympus. The old man, who turned out to be Socrates, replied by saying, If you really want to get to Mount Olympus, just make sure that every step you take is headed in that direction. ----------------------84. "There are those of us who are always about to live. We are waiting until things change, until there is more time, until we are less tired, until we get a promotion, until we settle down -- until, until, until. It always seems as if there is some major event that must occur in our lives before we begin living." -George Sheehan ----------------------85. "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." -Abraham Maslow ----------------------86. A mother brought her child to Gandhi and asked him to tell the boy not to eat sugar because it was bad for him. Gandhi said, I can not tell him today but bring him back to me in a month. The mother returned in a month with the boy. Gandhi gave the boy the speech on not eating sugar. The confused mother asked Gandhi, Why did I have to wait a month for you to tell my son not to eat sugar? Gandhi looked at the mother and said, A month ago I was still eating sugar! -----------------------

Fear less, hope more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. -Swedish Proverb ----------------------89. "Eighty percent of success is showing up." -Woody Allen ----------------------90. "My mentor taught me that success is a numbers game and very early he started asking me my numbers. He asked, "How many books have you read in the last ninety days?" I said, "Zero"; he said, "Not a good number." He said, "How many classes have you attended in the last six months to improve your skills?" And I said, "Zero." He said, "Not a good number." Then he said, "In the last six years that you've been working, how much money have you saved and invested?" I said, "Zero" and he said, "Not a good number." The School Picture Company
Kids at Heart Photography is a family owned and employee operated company. As such, we have a direct interest in your satisfaction. Kids At Heart Photography was founded in 1991 by three graduates of Rider University. Having worked through college as part-time photographers for a well known School Picture Company, they realized the need for a school picture company that offered Reasonable Pricing without sacrificing quality. The outcome was Kids At Heart School Photography. Kids At Heart Photography has 'Specialized' in School Photography for 15 years and currently satisfies the photography needs of over "2,500 Schools" in "34 States" Nationwide. By "Specializing" in Pre-School & Daycare Photography, we have an advantage over most other companies. We have "Perfected" the art of working with children. Pre-School & Daycare Photographers have to be, not only excellent at photography, but equally if not more skilled, in the "Art of Working with Children". We know that with infants and toddlers there is a short window of time to hold their attention to capture their "Best Smile" and the "Best Picture". With the success of our Pre-School & Daycare Photography, we were constantly requested by parents to photograph their children's Elementary Schools and also their children's Dance Schools and Sports Leagues. As we started photographing these schools, our requests grew to such a large extent that we had to add a whole new K-12 School Picture Division that can satisfy the needs of K-12 schools.

Celebrating "15" Years "Specializing In School Photography!"
