SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION OF BEHAVIORISME THEORY IN LEARNING
1. In behaviorisme theory , there is oIIer something to motivate the student. Dont
you think that it make them to be a materialistic generation and how to avoid it ? It is true that in behaviorisme theory always give stimulus Ior enhance the students respons. It is the one oI critic to behaviorisme theory. The learner will be motivated Irom the external inIluenced ( reward, giIt, or punishment ) not Irom their willinngnes to increase good beahvior or derease bad behaviorisme. How to avoid that, the context Ior giving reward basically it is just given Ior the Iirst. AIter student learning much and the teacher think they are not neccessary giving the reward such as bread, so it will be stopped. 2. What is the diIIerence between positive reinIorcement , negative reinIorcement, positive punishment and negative punishment ? a. positive reinIorcement is means that a stimulus ( reward ) Ior the learner to increase Irequency behaviour. In this case , surely it the good behaviour. involves a stimulus that increases the likelihood oI a particular response, such as a child receiving a gold star Ior doing a chore. For example : iI a student pay attention he teacher`s explanation then they can answer some question correctly, the teacher give them some reinIorcement or reward. Reward can be a praising, or giving something . b. Negative reinIorcement ,is means that a stimulus ( aversive Ior the learner to increase Irequency behaviour. In this case, certainly in the good behaviour. In negative reinIorcement, teacher always oIIer something ( it can be bread or candy or chocolate etc. ). In this case , the learner will be motivated by the reward, not because their willingness to learn. c. Positive punishment ; is means that a stimulus a learner to decrease their behaviour, in this case their bad behaviour. For example : There is a student who`s really naughty and always make a noisy during the class, and the teacher just look at him and smile without say anything. d. Negative Punishment ; is means that a stimulus a learner to decrease their bad behaviour. For example ; the student who naughty and less attention during the class will get the punishment. 3. Do the Behaviourism is implemented Ior the young learner only ? Actually Behaviourism is not only Ior the young learners, it can also be implemented Ior adult. As we know that behaviourism emphasized in teacher centre, young learners are more comIort with the class conditioning. For the teacher it will be easier to arrange the class condition in teaching. In otherwise, it will be more diIIicult, because they are more active, not passive iI teacher applied this theory although in some cases it will be done such us, when they have to learn the diIIicult ones, the imitation or drilling is important to make deeper understanding.
