THE 7 BLESSINGS OF TONGUES

WARFARE

No.6

Perhaps one of the most revolutionary benefits of prayer in the Spirit is how it can be used in spiritual warfare. It's impossible to be a Christian for any length of time without becoming aware that we are engaged in warfare.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Here we see the real source of our problems. Things are not what they seem to be to the spiritual eye so we need to look at the real source of the problems; these are the demon hosts of darkness manipulating what we think is the natural order of things. We need to discover our weapons.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

If we are engaged in spiritual warfare we must utilize spiritual weapons. Thats why we are told to take the "Whole armour of God." When we are praying in Tongues we dont have to think about what we are saying and this frees us up to be praying at all times without specifically using our minds. The trouble is we have always felt we need to be in control of our prayers or doing something we understand and speaking in tongues seems to be the opposite of this. One of the main reasons why the Devil opposes tongues is because of its effective use against him in warfare. We are told in Ephesians 6 to put on all the armour of God to defend ourselves and then use the sword as a weapon against the enemy Satan. Due to difficulties in translation from Greek to English there has been a lot of confusion with this verse below. We are told to take up the sword as a weapon and have always said that its the sword of the word but it isnt. Its the sword of the Spirit.
Ephesians 6:17-18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

The sword here is the Spirit not the word and the word here is Rhema or the spoken word of God. There is a Greek word missed out in the modern translations at the start of verse 18 and that is the word dia which is by means of. This changes everything. The literal translation should be; Take the sword of the Spirit which is the spoken word of God by means of praying in Tongues (in the Spirit). There is another very interesting point that backs up the use of tongues as a sword in warfare. On the first Pentecost which occurred 50 days after the first Passover when Moses came down from the Mount. The Sons of Levi slew 3000 with the sword. On the Day of Pentecost when God poured out His Spirit and the sword of the Spirit was first given, 3000 were saved. We have been given a weapon that comes out of our mouths and it can bring life and cut off Satans power. Just because you dont understand it doesnt mean that tongues is not Gods word. We may not understand Chinese yet Chinese Christians speak Gods word all the time and far more than we do in English. Each word we speak in tongues is a Rhema word fresh from heaven and has great power.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. http://hot-tongues.blogspot.com/
