___A donation of $25 enables BFLF to run a background check on a mentor to ensure the mentee's safety. ___A donation of $100 sponsors one mentee for one year in the Big Friend Little Friend, Inc program. ___A donation of $500 enables BFLF to provide an entire mentor/mentee one-on-one relationship match.

Mentoring Benefits
Young people who have a mentor are: More likely to complete high school More able to focus on school work More successful in family and peer relationships Less likely to use drugs and alcohol

To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you just may be the world.
How to enroll in Big Friend -Little Friend, Inc
Must be school age, between the ages of 7 and 14. Youth shows a need for the friendship and example of a caring adult with good moral values. Parent/guardian complete the enrollment form. Parent/guardian meets with the director to go over application and learn about the benefits of the program.

When just being yourself can change the future
Mentors improve learning, lives and communities Mentors are meant to give extra support to youth so they can reach their full potential in life. Mentors can be added support to a youth and their families. Mentors can help with life skills, build character, engage in indoor/outdoor activities and provide support for those that need a role model in their life. Mentors must agree to meet with their mentee for a minumum of 4 hrs a month for at least one year. All mentors enrolled in Big Friend-Little Friend, Inc. program are screened, given background checks and receive ongoing training and support.

OUR FORMULA FOR SUCCESS:

By matching adult volunteers with a young youth in the community we are able to develop a one-on-one relationship between the Big Friend-Little Friend, Inc volunteer and Little Friend, enriching the lives of the young person and their family.

Big Friend Little Friend is meant to offer a special strength to the family and supplement the family structure. Our Little Friends come from traditional, step, or single parent families. Some families reach out to the program during stressful family periods, such as divorce or the death of a parent or sibling. There is no income limit. There are no fees to participate in the program.

We do this by: Building Character through our CHARACTER COUNTS! program Strengthening communication Life skill and team building Strengthening the entire family using community resources Hope and inspiration Relationships with caring adult mentors. Your help
