Current Facts about Agriculture in Nepal


Communication Gap:
There is no proper channel for quick communication With government institutions and market place.

Nepal is known as Agriculture Country but in current situation we are importing agriculture products from other countries.

Literacy: Since, the farmers are not educated they dont have idea about marketing, policy, offers or any information. NGO/INGO Projects: NGO/INGO projects unable to include the ream farmers to achieve their goal. Government Policy: Due to lack of proper data about farming trends, It is hard to make the good policy for farmers. Market Place and Transportation: Since, there is no proper transportation facility., it is hard for farmers to sell their products easily. Maket Trends: It is very hard to know the market trends and demands. So, farmers are following traditional methods in farming.

How M-Agriculture System will be useful M-

Reduce the communication gap

Decision Support System: System will collect all the digitized and verified data. After feeding the data to DSS it will give us the graphical result and help us to make policy.

Reduces the communication gap between farmers, government institutions, market place etc.. Flow of agriculture information easily. Collect the data from farmers, government and market demand at one place and easily accessible to all.

Data Accessible and Analysis: System will content all the data and categorized the data on the basis of farmers, location, fields uses, crop etc.. And will help to take decision.

Challenges and Role of I/NGO

I/NGO will play vital role to implement the project. I/NGO will coordinate with government and other donor agencies for funding for the project. Since, the farmers does not have idea to use technology. So, I/NGO play vital role to give training to them. Farmers does not accept the changes quickly. So, I/NGO need to create good environment to use the system. Monitoring and co-ordinating to take the feedback from farmers and report to the implementing agencies. Helping farmers to switch from traditional method to use modern technlogies in agriculture system.

Conclusion
Mobile as an affordable and accessible means of communication, rural communities are realizing the potential of M-Agriculture to create economic opportunities and strengthen social networks. M-Agriculture System effectively reduces the "distance" between individuals and institutions, making the sharing of information and knowledge easier and more effective. The mobile telephone is no longer just an audio communication tool but capable of providing additional integrated functions.

M-Agriculture system is very useful to uplift the agriculture production and commercialization.
