Major Achievements as President & COO of Philippine Airlines:


♦ Instituted a regular communication medium between management and the work force
to achieve industrial peace that allowed all PAL functional areas to operate in peace
and harmony making possible the achievements of goals, objectives, traffic and
revenue targets

♦ Led PAL recovery from temporary closure in September 1998 after years of
consecutive losses (1990-1998); Achieved positive cumulative operating and net
incomes during 5.5 years stint in the presidency (1999-2004) despite the impact of 911
and SARS

♦ Expanded with viable results the operations of Philippine Airlines during his
incumbency as President & COO when other airlines were downsizing or closing; new
destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Jakarta, Shanghai, Busan, Kuala Lumpur,
Okinawa, Honolulu, Guam, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Tagbilaran, Laoag were added to
the PAL network during the period requiring a growth of fleet from the original 24
required by the rehabilitation plan to 30 aircraft in 2004

♦ Installed new computer systems in the area of frequently flier program, online
ticketing and reservations, online and real-time air-to-ground communications,
cockpit and cabin crew scheduling, oracle financials; Earlier, as functional head of
passenger reservations and the later as cargo head led the installation of the first
online reservations systems in passenger and the first comprehensive cargo system in
1978 and 1982
