A

hour after a man and
woman were killed in a
collision on Highway #5
north of Neepawa, last
Friday, November 18th,
Minnedosa Fire Depart-
ment was called to a
single-vehicle accident
on the by-pass west of
Minnedosa.
A southbound Dodge
truck lost control after
hitting an icy patch on
the Little Saskatchewan
River Bridge at the curve
east of the intersection of
PR #355. This caused the
vehicle to slam into the
east cable guardrail just
south of the bridge. After
hitting the guard rail, the
truck became entangled
in the cables with two of
the cables ending up on
the inside of the rear pas-
senger tire.
After removing the
tire, local firefighters,
with the assistance of
Pat Ritchie and his tow
truck from Minnedosa
Auto Wreckers were able
to release the truck from
the guardrail cables. Al-
though the truck received
minor damage in the in-
cident, fortunately, both
occupants of the truck
were uninjured.

vember 1st. Tis year there are eight mens rinks
that play on Monday and Wednesday and ten ladies
rinks that play on Tursday nights. Tere are also eight
mixed rinks on Friday nights as well as after school Mon-
day curling for the high school and junior high curling
begins next Tuesday and Tursday. In total, about 175
curlers are enjoying the Minnedosa Complex. Were of
to a very good start, agreed Jean Garbolinsky.
Tis year Minnedosa is hosting the Junior Girls
Provincial Championship in the frst week of January.
Tats very exciting. It involves a lot of volunteers in the
club and brings them closer together and allows us to
generate a bit of income. Hopefully Minnedosas Junior
Girls team of Jennifer Curle, Gillian Lewis, Paxton John-
son, and Hailey Surovy will be able to represent this zone,
which would draw a large crowd to Minnedosa. Te girls
are going to Regionals to qualify from December 2nd-
4th. Two weeks ago they played their frst bonspiel in
St. Annes and this past weekend were invited to a new,
high profle junior bonspiel hosted by Sunlife Financial
in Brandon.
