Little Red Riding Hoods Bag

Material:
500 gr Home Torgnon Stampato (30 m/50 gr) in variegated red (Main Colour) 200 gr Schulana Grande (66 m/100 gr) in black 100 gr LanaGrossa Caldo (35 m/50 gr) in orange 100 gr LanaGrossa Caldo (35 m/50 gr) in lilac 50 gr LanaGrossa Caldo (35 m/50 gr) in crimson Circular Needles 10 mm (40 cm and 60 cm length)

Bottom: CO 3 st (long-tail cast-on) in main colour, leaving a 25 cm tail of yarn. Knit in rows:
1. R.: 2. R.: 3. R.: 4. R.: 5. R.: 6. R.: 7. R.: 8. R.: 9. R: 10. R.: 11. R.: *purl 1, purl 1 more through the loop of the cast-on stitch*, repeat from * to * (= 6 st) *knit 1, knit 1 more through the back loop of the previous row*, repeat from *to* 5x (=12 st) *purl 2, purl 1 more through the loop of the previous row* (= 18 st) *knit 3, knit 1 more through the back loop of the previous row* (= 24 st) *purl 4, purl 1 more through the loop of the previous row* (= 30 st) *knit 5, knit 1 more through the back loop of the previous row* (= 36 st) purl *knit 6, knit 1 more through the back loop ot the previous row* (= 42 st) purl *knit 7, knit 1 more through the back loop ot the previous row* (= 48 st) purl

Repeat row 10 and 11 and add 6 stitches in the even-numbered rows until you reach a total amount of 114 stitches. As soon as there are enough stitches on your circular needle (depending on the length of your cn), join to the round (you wont risk twisting), place a marker and continue knitting in rounds. Knit every round (no more purling rows). Knit in main colour, except rounds 25/26, 29/30 and 33/34 in colour lilac. When achieving a total amount of 114 st, knit two more rounds in main colour. Change to black yarn and purl 4 rounds. You can turn your knitting on the reverse side and knit these 4 rounds in black, but dont forget to turn it back to the right side again!

Body:
Changing to main colour again, knit according tot he knitting chart (see below). After the 52 chart rounds, change to the black yarn and knit 1 rd, then purl 4 rds (black).

Handles:
Continue in black (or turn the bag to the reverse side and knit) cast-off 21 sts. With separate yarn (black or contrast colour) cast-on 25 sts for the handle and insert them, slipping the first st and then purling 23 sts. Purl the last of the handle sts together with the 22nd st of the handle-inserting round. Purl 35 sts,cast-off 21 sts . Insert the second handle as you did the first one (casting on 25 sts etc., but purl the first st together with the 36th st between the handles). Purl 35 sts, then purl the last st of the round together with the first st of the first handle (= 118 sts). Purl 3 more rds in black yarn (or contrast colour, if you like),cast-off loosely. Sew the bottom seam. Weave in ends.

Felting:
Felt your bag in the washing machine with two old towels, using the normal 60C washing program (dont choose a delicate fiber option). Spin circle max. 500 rotations per minute! You can knit this bag with any bulky, feltable fiber. The indicated yarns will result in a bag sized 34 cm (high) and 102 cm (circumference; internal diameter 32 cms.)
