Hammad Niazi is a poet of that new generation of Urdu literature who started his creative journey in the first

decade of 21st century and established his identity in the views of critics on the basis of new and refreshed imagery in his poetry. His Ghazal is not only the continuation of relatively more modern form of the genre but he, with his extraordinary creative talent, has made many new and pleasant addition to the contemporary Ghazal which looks different in the whole tradition of Urdu poetry. His poems also have the same vehemence of sensitivity and rareness. Due to his figurative expression, based on more modern sensitivity, he has not only succeeded in establishing his uniqueness but has also created and reconstructed some new tastes which is the beginning of configuration of his individual poetical imagination as well as the collective tradition of poem. Its more important to note that Hammad Niazi has protected his poetry from blind pursuit of tradition and successfully tried to include his name in the list of the poets who go through the process of discovery of spirit of verse on the basis of their talent. Through the confidence as an artist for his uniqueness, Niazi has become a reference among the literary horizons being explored by new poets. His elegance as a poet was fermented in the rural culture of Punjab and the same rustic element has brought about the freshness which can be regarded the characteristics of only a few poets. Due to multitude of typical features which Hammad Niazis poetry has attained at the very start, his critical consciousness cannot be ignored. Along with his creative talent he has been endorsed with deep critical consciousness with which he has polished his poetry.

It is important point is that in his pursuit of critical consciousness, he has not left the real foundation of poetry. He knows that creation is not only exactly the process of reflection. This quality not only binds him with his own generation but proves to be the distinction of new generation from the previous one. Right now, those images are prominent in his poetry which are also found in the poetry of distinguished poets of any poetical tradition. But it a short span of time, signs of a fresh creative effort accompanied by right choice of direction become the fate of very few poets. It is hoped that Hammad Niazi will be the one important and valuable name among the rare poets of his generation. His poetry, while opening the doors of possibilities, not only heralds in the sphere of poetry a fertile creative mind, but also seems to be a harbinger of new chapter in Urdu poetry. In his the young generation of poets, Hammad Niazi looks prominent due to unique features of poetry and deep critical intellect.
