Welcome to Anchor your Soul your Christian bulletin on board the Norwegian EPIC. Our purpose is to encourage you to live your Christian faith. In this first edition the articles focus mainly on the seasonal holidays and its impact on our society. Over all we celebrate our God, Jesus Christ, as He is the one who love us first and gave us life for His Glory. Amen. God bless you! The Editor

n 1492, an Italian Genovese seaman, made which was the most important voyage in the human history. He departed from the port of Palos in Portugal and navigated in direction to the west through the Atlantic Ocean. The belief that the world was plain was predominant in his time. He didnt know what was going to happen but he believed that God was with him and guided him. So faith, took place in the mind and heart of this man, who was told to be a believer in Jesus Christ. As he was reading his Bible he discovered in Isaiah 40:22 that God is sitting in the circle of the earth. This statement made

THE APOSTLE PAUL IN SPAIN?

Watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.. 2 Ti. 4:5-8 It is reasonable to say that the apostle Paul did visit Spain for the following reasons: (1) It was a possibility time wise. Some time between 63 and 67 A.D. (2)The church in Spain was large and well-organized at an early date. (3)The plans of Paul included to visit Spain. Rom.15:28 (4)Early documents indicate that such a visit was made. (5)Local Spanish traditions speak of a visit made by Paul.

n October the 30th an important event took place. That day in 1517 according to tradition, Martin Luther, a German catholic priest, posted on a church door in Wittenberg, Germany, his NinetyFive Theses, a manifesto that turned a protest about an indulgence scandal into the Protestant Reformation. Through his words and actions, Luther precipitated a movement that reformulated certain basic tenets of Christian belief and resulted in the division of West-

ern Christendom between Roman Catholicism and the new Protestant traditions, mainly Lutheranism, Calvinism, the Anglican Communion, and the Anabaptists. He is one of the most influential figures in the history of Christianity. Protestantism became one of three major forces in Christianity. After a series of European religious wars in the 16th and 17th century, and especially in the 19th century, it spread throughout the world. Wherever Protestantism gained a foothold,

it influenced the social, economic, political, and cultural life of the area. The principal postulate of Luther was that salvation is not by good deeds but through faith in Jesus Christ. He cited the Holy Scripture in Ro. 1:17 The just shall live by faith. This simple statement marks the difference between Christianity and all the other religions. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph. 2:8

JESUS, ONE WAY

esus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

WHAT TO DO 1. Admit you are a sinner. 2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent) 3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead. 4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior and Lord.

WHAT TO PRAY Dear God, I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believed that Jesus Christ shed died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior and Lord. Amen. If you trusted Jesus as your Savior, you have just begun a wonderful new life with him.

NODOBY CAN SAVE YOU. TRUST JESUS TODAY! That if thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved Rom. 10:9

A PRAYER FOR REFORMATION DAY

ord God of Hosts. Who is the Refuge of every sinner and the Strength of all who put their trust in You. I praise you for having allowed me to share in the blessings of the Reformation. Without any merit of worthiness on my part, You have sent Your Holy Spirit into my heart and brought me to faith in Your dear Son, Jesus Christ.

You have made known to me the worthlessness of my own good deeds and the perfect merit of Christ. You have directed my faith away from the commandments of men and cause me to rest my hope only and solely on the exceedingly great and precious promises of Your Gospel. You have revealed the beauty of Your grace, which rescued me from a just condemnation and assured me of certain salvation in Christ.

Grant me Your grace that I may receive Your forgiveness with thanksgiving and reflects your mercy in thanks-living. Use me as your witness in bringing the message of pardon in Christ to people everywhere. Grant purity of doctrine and practice to Your church that everyone may be rescued from all human errors and be led to all truth by your Spirit. In Jesus Christ. Amen.

THE DEVILS NIGHT

atan was created in heaven, his name was Lucifer. He was a beautiful creature who guarded Gods throne. Then he rebelled against God so he was kicked out of heaven. Isa 14:12. About a third of the angels rebelled too and were kicked out with him. Rev 12:4. They become demons, and Lucifer became Satan. Satan is alive and well and he is busy destroying mankind. He and his demons know their time is short. Rev 12:12. They are afraid of Jesus Christ because He created a lake of fire...for them! Mat 25:41. But Satan wants everybody in hell with him. Unfortunately, hell get most of them.

He is master deceiver, and Halloween is just one of his tricks. Kids love Halloween because its both funny and scary. But they have no idea whats behind this celebration. To Satanists and Witches, Halloween is no joke. Its their most solemn ceremony of the year. As we get to closer to the Second coming of Jesus Satanism and the Occult will increase. So will human sacrifice! Halloween started in the British Isles with the Druids. October 31st was a night of terror called Samhain that night the Druids went house to house taking victims for

human sacrifice. In exchange for the victim, they left a Jack-O-Lantern which was supposed to protect the house from death demons that night. Satan loves Halloween because it glamorizes the powers of the darkness, drawing little kids into his camp. And its paying off! Witchcraft is exploding among teens today. God hates Halloween and its evil origin. Satans sacrifices are a mockery of Gods perfect sacrifice for our sins when Jesus Christ was crucified. Satan hates that message and blocks it every chance he gets. He has blinded peoples minds to this truth.

Ghosts, devils and witches. Halloween is not a joke.

ALL HALLOWS DAY: ME? A SAINT?

he apostle Paul in his salutation to the Christian Romans writes: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 1:7 This term called to be saints or, saints by way of call. asserts that we are what we are called. We are constituted saints, for we had

already received the Gospel grace, and were formed into a Christian Church. Not born so, nor become so through our own power, but were so by calling grace, as a fruit of everlasting love; we are first beloved of the Lord, and then called to be his saints. All Christians were called saints by the New Testament writers. Any one consecrated to a holy

life is a saint. Saints are all that are reborn in Christ. It doesn't mean that we are perfect now but into a process of sanctification through which one day we will be made perfect. 1 Jo. 3:2 Our current position of saints was imputed once and forever, it is not something we can earn or lose, however we are encouraged to live as saints bringing honor to our holy position.

All Christians were called saints by the New Testament writers. Any one consecrated to a holy life is a saint.

THIS MEANS WAR

esus commissioned the disciples to go to all towns and villages to heal the sick, expulse demons and preach the gospel of the kingdom of heaven. Mat. 10:1 In other words, he meant war against the dominion of Satan. The belief of the existence of spirits and their influence over the life of the humans beings is still a very strong religious notion in all the world. Always missionaries were informing of cases of satanic activity wherever they were presenting the

gospel, also they witnessed angelical protection, miraculous healings, and expulsion of demons as answers to their prayers. The biggest churches in the world always consider a very essential part of Christian missions the confronting of powers in which they cast out Satan. We need to remember that this divine resource is available to all children of God through the Holy Spirit. Holiness and Closeness to God is a must, fast and prayers are essential to practice exorcism.

Jesus Christ has defeated Satan when he died at the cross and rose again from the grave so God want us to rescue people from the captivity of Satan to live a new life for His glory. unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Act 26:17

To focus in the preservation or importance of family relationship.

We have this hope as an anchor for our souls, firm and secure Hebrews 6:19 ISV

7. To pray for the leaders of the nations and the peace in the world.

PRAXIS. Answer the questions with honesty, meditate and make a resolution.
1. Do I believed that the Word of God is truth? Do I trust the promises of God in spite of the adversity? Do I read, study, memorize, meditate and share the Word of God everyday? 2. Do I know what is my mission in earth? Am I interested in knowing what is my calling? Am I faithful to my calling? Am I giving all of me to fulfill what God has commended me? 3. Am I able to present defense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? I am studying the Bible to be prepared to refuse the error of the false doctrines and guide others to the truth? Am I ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Am I afraid to tell my friends about my faith? 4. Am I sure if I died tonight I will go to the presence of God? Am I conscious that there is no condemnation for me as I am in Jesus Christ, even in spite of my failures? 5. Do I understand clearly that there is only one way to go heaven, by faith in Jesus Christ not by good works? Do I already put my trust in Jesus Christ? Have I been reborn? 6. Have I decided not to take part of the party of Halloween, knowing what is behind of this celebration? 7. Am I conscious that I am a saint? Am I behaving as a saint so people can see something different in my words, attitudes, decisions and actions? 8. Am I praying everyday so God can use me to help people to get out the darkness to the light, from captivity to freedom in Jesus Christ? 9. Have I understood that I have to make an effort to attend the Fellowship regularly so I can grow up spiritually and serve God with my gifts and talents?

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Jas 1:22
