Welcome to D'Accord Keyboard Chord Dictionary

D'Accord Keyboard Chord Dictionary is an educational software from D'Accord Music Software. It focuses on the improvement of musical learning, and has been developed specially for users that wants to learn about chords.

How it works The Keyboard Browsing chords Importing chords from lyrics Printing Playing Settings D'Accord Chord Spelling Registering The Keyboard The middle of the window shows the virtual keyboard (first two octaves). The blue circles indicate the keys to place the fingers as well as extra information about the chord (fingers, notes or intervals) . The example below refers to an "Am", with 'fingers' as extra information.

The graphical representation of chord positions following rule: - Numbers indicate fingers to be placed at each position. The numbering in blue circles follows the notation below: 1 2 3 4 5 Thumb finger Index finger Middle finger Ring finger Little finger

Displaying notes and intervals By clicking on "View Mode:", the user chooses what to display in the circles. The 'Finger' option leads blue circles to display the fingers to use in the chord's position and so on with 'Notes' option (blue circles displaying the notes rather then the fingers) and 'Intervals' option (blue circles displaying intervals of each note from the fundamental).

Browsing Chords and their Positions The purpose of D'Accord Keyboard Chord Dictionary is to provide a library of chord positions. To browse the chord database, choose the chord you want and then search its alternative positions/inversions. To choose the chord you want, you may: 1. Type its name on the text field in section "Chord Name", and press the ENTER key; or

Obs: The chord root must be typed using upper case (C = do, D = re, E = mi, F = fa, G = sol, A = la, B= si) and its extension in lower case (Am : A

minor). Click here for further information about the syntax adopted in D'Accord Keyboard Chord Dictionary. 2. Pickup a chord in the list To view alternative positions/inversions for the selected chord, use the side arrows (right arrow - next position, left arrow - previous position).

You can also play the selected chord position by clicking on "Play" button or by passing the mouse over the keys (figure below) .

Import Text Click on "Import Text" if you want to extract the chord names from a text. D'Accord Keyboard Chord Dictionary will try to find out which words are chord names. D'Accord Dictionary will suggest a position for each chord name extracted.

Type the text you want on the principal memo and click 'Import Chord'. For the example above, these chord names will be added to the print list and can be posteriory printed:

Printing In order to print a set of chords: 1. Select the chord positions you want 2. Add them to the print list 3. Click on "print", when the list is complete You can also print the lyrics with the chords positions on the "Import Text" form by clicking on the "Printing" button. Click on remove to remove erroneously added chord positions.

Play

In order to play the selected chord position, click on the "Play" button or pass the mouse over the keys on the keyboard.

Settings In "Settings", you can set up the MIDI drivers and the MIDI instrument that will play the notes. Drivers - Instruments Settings - Drivers 1. Select the "Drivers" tab. 2. Pick the MIDI driver you prefer. 3. Click on OK.
