1. Identification of the product

1.1 Commercial product name: Fiberroll/Fibertec

2. Technical Data

Fiberroll/Fibertec is a one component isophtalic polyester resin in wrap form for above/underground use.
Fiberroll/Fibertec is used to protect and reinforce components or objects from environmental effects. Examples of
such components include, steel pipe, concrete floors, insulation materials, steel objects, etc..

By applying Fiberroll/Fibertec, the object is protected from contact with vapor, gases, liquids and therefore helps
prevent deterioration. Low pressure pipe system can be reinforced with Fiberroll up to 150 psi

Fiberroll/Fibertec is a one-component isophtalic polyester resin reinforced with a fiberglass cloth (20% weight) and
cures under influence of sunlight.

Product advantages
• Relatively low styrene emission
• After curing: flame retardant, non toxic (meets EU specs for food industry)
• Temperature range: 212 F short term even 272 F
• Easy to shape around difficult forms
• Pipe reinforcement and pipe integrity improvement
• Resists soil stress easily and protects coating
• Long term performance based upon industrial grade polyester resins
• Resistant against chemicals (chemical resistance available upon demand)

Fiberroll/Fibertec can be applied with success for:

• pipe integrity improvement at waste/cooling water lines (max. 150 psi)
• protection of corrosion preventative coating (tapes, FBE) at
road bores, directional drills, soil air transitions, above
ground piping
• protection of pipe insulation at chemical plants
• sealing of concrete floors and tanks to prevent water leakage and/or chemical spill in environment
• re-laminating old fiberglass coating, pipes and boats
• etc.

Fiberroll/FiberTec is a self-extinguishing material that does not promote the fire.

German standard DIN 4102 Class B1

British standard BS 476 Pt. 6 Class 1
ASTM E84-98 < 15

In case of fire FiberTec® will give next to vapor:

- Carbon monoxide: 60 mg/g CO
- Carbon dioxide : 450 mg/g CO²

In contrast to normal polyester FiberTec will not give halogen gasses in case of fire.
3. Application Procedure

Surface preparation grade of St 2 Swedish Standard is required. This requirement refers to surfaces of hot-rolled steel.
Prior to treatment the steel surface has been cleaned of dirt and moisture, is dry, that the heavier layers of rust have
been removed by chipping and ‘bad’ sections have been repaired according to the user’s standards.

Treatment consists of thorough scraping and wire brushing (machine brushing / grinding). The treatment shall remove
loose mill scale, rust and foreign matter. Finally, the surface is cleaned with clean dry compressed air or a clean brush.

Areas of scale and laminations should be removed by (water)blast cleaning as these areas can not be prepared
adequately by hand or power tool cleaning.

UV Bond primer should be used to create good adhesion to the surface. Let material cure under sunlight or UV light
until UV Bond is tacky or cured.

Fiberroll should be applied with little tension, rather in a relaxed way, making sure the material is wrapped tight on the
substrate. At corners, bends or difficult shapes, Fiberroll can be cut with scissors and molded around the object.
Proper application of Fiberroll requires a 1-inch overlap, regardless of the width. Inner and outer release liner should
be removed at overlap before curing.

Fiberroll can be painted or covered at above ground applications to ensure longer life span. To get proper anchor
pattern for paint, remove outer release liner completely before curing process.

When proper installed, Fiberroll helps protect coating/insulation materials against chemical attack, humidity,
mechanical impact and helps recover integrity of steel/pvc pipes. Fiberroll has been tested for pressure ratings up to
150 psi (10 bar).
