The two special events in BER months

Again, Christmas and Halloween party is one important part of our lives. These two events have a wide significance in this world. Here in our country (Philippines), we celebrate these as normal occasion when BER months come. These are specified in the month of November for Halloween and the month of December for Christmas. First, Ill summarize what is Halloween all about. In around the eight century, the Christian church made November 1st as all saints day to honor all of the saints that didnt have a special day of their own. Over the years these festivals combined to become all Hallowmas (the mass of all hallows saints people) the night before was known as hollows eve, which later becomes Halloween. This commonly includes activities such as trick or testing, attending costume parties, carving jack-o-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbling, visiting haunted attractions, playing branks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. In short, it is a time of celebration and superstition. It has long been thought of as a day when the dead can return to the earth, and ancient Celts would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off these roaming ghosts. Halloween wasnt always a happy and joyous time in our country. Some used to call devils or hell night because of all the mischief that was caused. In 19th century, Halloween began to lose its religious connotation, becoming more secular community based on childrens holiday. Although the superstitions and beliefs surrounding Halloween may have evolved over the years, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people can still look forward to those activities. So today, Halloween has become a family event when children dress up in costumes and go trick or treating door to door for candy and etc. Now, well go for the second which is Christmas. Like the first one above, Ill also provide a brief explanation for this event. We know that Christmas is a special day to all people around the world. This event is generally observed every December 25th of the year to commemorate the birth of our beloved Jesus Christ (The figure of Christianity), a spiritual leader whose teachings forms the basis of religion. Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennia, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. Popular costumes include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive (wish of children). In addition, several figures, known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas and Santa Claus, among other names, are associated with bringing gifts to children during the Christmas season. At last, because of gift-giving and many other aspects of the Christmas festival involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, the holiday has become a significant event and a key sales period for retailers and businesses. The economic impact

of Christmas is a factor that has grown steadily over the past few centuries in many regions of the world.
