30 minute documentary on KVIE PBSs Viewfinder. From California to

Kaiping aired on Central Californias public television 3 times in November. Viewers in the nations 20th ranked market joined me as I traveled to China in search of my familys roots. Narrated as a firsthand account, I met family for the first time and toured my grandparents old village before I returned to California to conclude my familys story. Multimedia Intern. China Daily Sep. - Nov. 2009. Won 1st place in Chinas National Day multimedia competition with One Day in Beijing video. Wrote, edited and shot video for over 10 stories. Won 2009 Fox News Channel College Challenge with 3 minute video package on the Akaka Bill, which addresses Native Hawaiian rights. Conducted over a dozen interviews, some involving travel to South Dakota (for Native American opinion) and Maui. As part of a team of two, I reported, edited, shot video, interviewed, researched and wrote for the package. The winning student team received $10,000 while the university got a matching $10,000 grant. Competent with SONY PD 170 and SONY HVR-V1U HDV cameras (and other equipment like mics and lens), Final Cut Pro 7 and audio mixing board. Editorial Intern. Equipment. Confident with SONY PD170, SONY HVR-V1U, Panasonic AGHVX200 through to DSLRs and consumer camcorders. Handy with cardioid, lavalier, wireless and dynamic mics. Can setup three point lighting as well as lighting for chroma key backgrounds. Software. Proficient in Adobe CS5.5 (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) as well as Apples Final Cut Studio 7 (Final Cut Pro, Motion, Color, etc.). Skilled at producing motion graphics, stabilizing footage, motion tracking, color correcting and audio sweetening.
