Write a brief statement indicating reasons for your interest in the teaching profession. Things to consider include: Why did you enter the teaching profession? What are your goals and aspirations? What special skills/major contributions will you bring to the teaching profession? What do you believe you will gain from student teaching?

I want to get into teaching because I feel like I was cheated in my education when I was in high school, and I do not want another student to go through what I did. My teachers' seemed like they really did not care about how we did in school or life, and by becoming a teacher I know I can give my students a postive learning experience. I believe I will bring a view to the classroom that every student can succeed and I am in the perfect position to help them. I think student teaching will be a great experience because it is a lot of hands on, and it gets me the experience I need to handle a classroom on my own. VII. PERSONAL REFLECTION
Most people can attribute their accomplishments to a mentor who influenced their beliefs and values as well as their career choices. Write about significant events in your life and include information about those who have influenced you, such as friends, family, teachers, etc. (No more than one page.)

I got into the teaching profession because I believed that my teachers were in a sense being lazy and not really putting forth the effort for me to excel. This has really been my drive to succeed in school, and become a teacher. I really knew that I wanted to become a teacher after my mother talked me into it. I am a very outgoing and talktive person and have always been interested in the social sciences area, and she helped me realize that teaching would be a good fit for me. Teaching seemed like the perfect job for me to talk about what I have learned and what I am passionate about. The more I have gotten into teaching here at UNI, the more I have come to

realize the problems America education systems is facing today and it really bothers me. Becoming a teacher will put me in the perfect position to make a change in the things that I do not like in the educaiton system, or help to make an impact on it.
