The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to "be changed". We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our lives' problems. GREETERS Greeters are often the first people first-time attendees will see and speak to so it is desired that greeters have at least one-year recovery experience and knowledge about the program. PIZZA TEAM The Pizza team promotes service for all, and in turn gives accountability & support. Leaders are needed to lead one Friday night a month, or to coordinate the various teams during the month. PRAYER MINISTRY The Prayer Team's purpose is two-fold; first of all to pray for the Celebrate Recovery program each Friday night just prior to the beginning of the service. A SHAPE Discovery session is a 1 hour meeting with a ministry representative targeted at finding a fulfilling place for you to serve and express your SHAPE. WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE? SHAPE Discovery Sessions are held primarily at the church office. Saturday sessions are held on campus. WHEN WILL I MEET WITH SOMEONE? SHAPE Discovery Sessions are offered at various times of the day and week. Sessions are not available on Friday PM and Sunday. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT MINISTRY At Saddleback we believe that ministry is using whatever God has given us to serve him and the needs of others. We minister in 3 directions: to the Lord, to believers and to non-believers. The goal of our ministry is to help others grow. It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare Gods people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith. Ephesians 4:11-13. We seek to achieve this goal by fulfilling the 5 purposes of the church to communicate God's work, care for God's family, celebrate God's presence, educate God's people and demonstrate God's love. WHO DO I MEET WITH? Your SHAPE Discovery Session is facilitated by a trained Ministry Representative who will depend on the Holy Spirit to guide your time as the three of you start to explore service opportunities here at Saddleback. We only allow women to meet with women and men to meet with men. The Ministry Representatives are volunteers. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? During your SHAPE Discovery Session your Ministry Representative will... Meet you in the lobby of the church office Show you around the office if you would like Offer you something to drink Talk about your day Open your session in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to guide the two of you. Be confidential. Review your SHAPE Profile starting with your experiences and ending with your spiritual gifts. Talk about other responsibilities you have in life to see if the time is right for you to serve. We have found over the years people fall into one of four areas: 1. Ready to serve 2. Need time to healspiritually or emotionally 3. Already serving 4. Want to start a new ministry If you are ready to start serving at Saddleback your Ministry Representative will offer you 2-3 service opportunities that fit your SHAPE. Ask you to contact the selected ministries and start serving as soon as possible. Answer any questions you may have Close your time in prayer. HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED? The average SHAPE Discovery Session last 1 hour. Please do your best to be on time so you and your Ministry Representative can have enough time to explore service at Saddleback.
