From an esoteric point of view your birth chart is a portrait of your soul's intention for this lifetime, the lessons to be learned, qualities to develop, problems to be resolved, service to be rendered. From that perspective, the choices one makes in one's daily life have reverberations that may last beyond even this lifetime. This report is written to help you clarify your lessons and goals, illuminate your struggles, and encourage you to move in the direction of your true purposes. The best to you on your journey... *********************************

Chapter 1: The Moon The placement of the Moon in your birth chart is very significant from a karmic perspective, as it indicates the accumulated karmic tendencies, both positive and negative, that you carry from your past incarnated experiences on earth. While the Sun reveals your intended purposes and lessons for this present life cycle, the MOON represents what you have already done and developed, hence, what is instinctive and natural to you, and what you tend to do over and over again. Your childhood is also reflected in the Moon's placement, as it is through those childhood circumstances that any unresolved pastlife issues are re-stimulated. Your subconscious predisposition is indicated by the Moon's position. It is the psychic imprint of the past. The nodes of the Moon describe behavior patterns from the past, as well as delineating a direction out of outworn or overdone behaviors and habits. Moon in Aries:

You instinctively react to challenges or stress with action, decisiveness, and a first-strike approach. Subconsciously you feel that you must either conquer or be conquered, and thus tend to view personal differences as a threat to be fought or defended against. This underlying feeling that life is a dogfight can make you rather quick-tempered, defensive, and combative, responses that frequently hinder you in establishing closeness and security in personal relationships. Since you feel that the other person is essentially a rival or opponent, it is difficult for you to let down your guard. You may have lived many lifetimes in the military or in rather primitive circumstances in which you basically had to depend on yourself to hack out an existence, perhaps as a pioneer or explorer. These experiences enabled you to develop a deep sense of inner self-reliance and independence as well as a residual, underlying sense of "I'm all I've got", a feeling of singularity and aloneness which continues to influence your behavior and your choices. In your present life it may be that you were forced to fend for yourself emotionally at a young age. You may well have been an only child or the first born, with the attendant feelings of being the chief or leader of the pack. If you were a middle child, it is likely that you resented this position since it does not correspond with your innate feeling about yourself, namely that you should be the first or dominant one. You subconsciously expect to be first and can be rather demanding and impatient when it comes to having your desires and needs attended to. At the same time, you dislike having to depend upon others for anything or having others depend upon you, especially emotionally. You were taught not to be a "leaner" and you dislike this trait in others, so much so that you may reject even natural, healthy expressions of neediness from other people. The urge to be a free agent and to act independently is deeply ingrained in you. For this reason, cooperative endeavors or partnerships of any kind often feel strained and uncomfortable to you, unless both parties are permitted a great deal of personal space or unless you are essentially the boss. Your competitive instincts are too strong to allow another to take the lead or, if the truth be told, even to share that position. The existence of win-win situations and outcomes that benefit everyone involved may be an entirely new concept for you! Another facet of your deep down conquer or be conquered feeling about life is that you are prone to retreat or give up rather quickly if you cannot immediately make the impact you wish. Unless your initial efforts are successful, you are quick to feel defeated and to drop your plans altogether. Compromise, patience, and sorting out differences in a mutually helpful way is something you have yet to learn at a deep level. When at your best, you express a confident, take charge attitude which enables you to lead and blaze new trails. You do well in independent enterprises and anywhere you have a clear cut opponent or challenge to pit yourself against, but once again, in intimate one-to-one relations this self assertion can work against you. You tend to be more selfish than you realize, especially when you are pursuing your latest passion or enthusiasm. You do not want to slow down, and other people's needs and wishes may get run over. Non-verbally and unconsciously you may send them the message that you do not want them to depend on you or get in your way. You often respond with a forceful, rather insensitive denial of feelings and emotional needs, your own as well as other people's. When young you are apt to feel invincible and to scorn weakness.

You are also quick to anger. The plus side of this is that once you blow up, it is all over and forgotten. However, you tend to have an anger habit, that is, to be easily provoked, unable to control your temper and apt to lash out quickly no matter how inappropriate or uncalled for that reaction may be. Also, your anger can be a cover for other, "weaker" feelings like hurt, sadness, helplessness, or inadequacy. The qualities you most need are patience and receptivity. Learning to listen and take in what others are offering, to receive, to ask for help and support, and to acknowledge all of your own (and other's) feelings will go a long way to create harmonious and satisfying, close relationships. Moon Square Uranus: In your incarnational past there was a great deal of upheaval and sudden change, possibly precipitated by political or social shifts. You were forced to choose between your home and all that was familiar, versus freedom or your ideals. You became very adaptable, living moment to moment, and there was very little of a solid, enduring home-base. You lived a somewhat unorthodox and unpredictable life which, while insecure and uncertain in many respects, did afford you a lot of freedom and wild adventures. (The pattern of frequent change, movement and upsets in the home may or may not have been repeated early in your current life). The carry over from that time into the present is a peculiar, emotional excitability and a highly, restless emotional state which at times can lead to extreme nervous strain and exhaustion. Along with this is a craving for stimulation and a taste for the new, bizarre, even perverse. You may feel that you were not meant for a "straight", conventional, tranquil existence, even if you long at times for the comforts such a lifestyle seems to provide. A desire for total emotional freedom and release from past conditioning and inhibitions may compel you to make a nearlytotal break from your family or heritage, to the point of adopting a new name, religion, or lifestyle than the one you were raised with. All of this may serve you well - to a point. Beware, however, of becoming an extremist and trying to rid yourself of everything in your past, "throwing the baby out with the bath water" so to speak, as this will cut you off from important aspects of yourself. This urge for emotional freedom and excitement can also interfere with your establishment of deep, ongoing relationships. You fear being trapped in monotony and boredom if you commit yourself to a permanent relationship. Any long-term relationship you form must have a lot of personal space and room to change and to be spontaneous. When out of balance you can become very ungrounded and are prone to emotional swings. Positively, you can be very inspired, musically or artistically or in other ways. When balanced you have a great sense of rhythm, and your spontaneous intuitive insights and impulses are apt to be right on the mark. Moon Square Neptune: Your sense of wonder and your openness to the unseen, subtle, spiritual dimensions of life are two of your gifts. You are extremely sensitive to the energies and currents of feeling around you

and, because you are so impressionable and receptive, you are influenced (even duped) rather easily. Throughout your life you maintain a certain childlike belief in magic and in wishing, and you tend to escape into the inner world of your imagination (or anesthetize yourself with movies, or soap operas, or food) when the outside world seems either too dull or harsh for you. It is important for you to learn to deflect negative or turbulent emotional influences in your environment, as you tend to get "sucked in" to others' feeling-world. The "wonder-child" aspect of yourself can be invaluable, connecting you with the world of spirit and your true home. Along with this is a strong current of emotional idealism and devotion to the Mother. This gives you a great capacity for nurturing, empathy, mercy, and compassion, yet there is a downside to this: a tendency to become a martyr. Beware of sacrificing yourself to take care of other people or to try to rescue or "save" them. Excessive dependency, passivity, and wishing to be taken care of are all themes around which some of your greatest challenges revolve. Either you yourself tend to succumb to such impulses (feeling yourself to be weak, needy, a victim) or you may attract other people into your life who play that role. For men, this can also lead to yearning for the perfect woman who will love and accept them unconditionally and meet all of their needs - but who inevitably disappoints, as flesh-and-blood women cannot fulfill that illusion for long. Women, on the other hand, may try to be the perfect woman, all-accepting, all-giving. Either of these can be traps for you. You also need to be extremely cautious with intoxicants, mood-altering substances or practices as these can create much confusion and distort your perceptions to the point where you lose touch with your genuine mystical and intuitive abilities. North Node in Virgo: In your incarnational past you tended to be idealistic and imaginative, and longed to escape the difficulties of ordinary physical life. Your growth direction now is to learn to be more clear and focused, and to ground your charitable impulses in some sort of practical service. North Node in 3rd house: You may find your past tendency particularly focused in the area of your philosophical beliefs, religious affiliations, or your overall world view. Let your "growth direction" or new attitude influence your day to day interactions with people, and your every day thoughts and decisions. Chapter 2: The Sun The Sun in your birth chart represents the primary creative thrust for this lifetime, those qualities you are to develop (or further develop) and express, and your current life focus. This may be in harmony with your instincts and your emotional habits, or along completely different lines. The Sun represents your conscious identity in this lifetime. Sun in Taurus:

Your soul development in this lifetime involves fully immersing yourself in matter, the physical world, and your senses. The ramifications of this are many. First of all, you very much enjoy the fruits of the earth in a simple, uncomplicated way. You have a deep rapport with nature and its rhythms, and if you cannot live in the country, you need at least to have a view of some natural beauty or to be surrounded with living or growing things. You have a strong affinity for plants. Regular contact with the land, forests, mountains, or your garden restores you, and without it you lose your center and your peace. When you are at your best, you function like a healthy animal, following what your instincts and your senses tell you. Your well known stubbornness and resistance to change is in part a reflection of your strong need to follow your own instincts and proceed at your own natural pace. As a wise one once phrased it "A soul must never be pushed or driven, but allowed to unfold naturally, like a flower blossoming bit by bit in the sunshine". This sense of a natural unfolding process underlies your tendency to be both steadily patient and very obstinate when faced with the need to make sudden moves or adapt to changes. Furthermore, your contribution in life has to do with building (solid foundations, assets, structures) and continuing, sustaining, and preserving what has already been attained (thus, your disinclination to embrace innovation or change). Your willfulness, which is quite strong, has the qualities of the earth itself - heavy, immovable, dense, enduring, and constant - and in terms of character or soul development this may work for or against you. You are not easily impacted or influenced by others, and you tend to ignore subtle hints and clues that you are not on the right track. Thus, you will persist in an endeavor until you are shown in some very gross, unmistakable way that you cannot or should not. In this way, you can make some egregious errors, carving deep grooves or patterns which are very hard to change. Positively, of course, this same tenacity enables you to accomplish your desires through sheer persistence and stamina. You can be a stabilizing, grounding force for the people around you, which is part of your soul-purpose. Your earthiness also indicates that you are attuned to that which is tangible, material, solid, substantial, real and present. You tend to distrust or discount what is intangible or abstract. Unless you see physical evidence, concrete facts, or "proof", you are unlikely to believe something is possible, and you give little credence to some speculative idea which has no concrete application or actual usefulness. A desire to own land or to have solid financial assets and to insure that your basic material needs are well taken care of, is another aspect of this basic earthiness. The mundane world - money, work, taking care of and enjoying the physical body is your arena. You are very body oriented, and you respond very much to physical appearances, to physical beauty and to the sensual aspect of things (how it looks, feels, smells, tastes). The benefit of this is simply that you fully enjoy your sensuality and your creaturehood. You have a great capacity for contentment, for enjoying things as they are, and for partaking in the pleasures which are all around you and readily available. However, you may spend inordinate amounts of time and energy on your body, dealing with your appetites and desires for material comfort, security, and pleasure. Enjoying but not being completely dominated by your appetites and desires is the key

here. You also need to beware of being taken in by superficial, outer appearances, and thus missing the deeper aspects of a person or situation. Sun Square Saturn: Like the brilliant diamond which is formed through intense and concentrated pressure, you are intended to develop inner depth, strength, and maturity through periods of intense aloneness, and what one might deem hardship. Early on you may well be required to face difficult circumstances or take sole responsibility for yourself, possibly due to the loss or lack of a strong relationship with your father. You may feel that you will never measure up to your father's expectations of you, that he disapproves or is disappointed in you, that you are not quite enough. In response to this you may become super responsible and conscientious, working extremely hard to achieve or be something that will make your father proud, even forcing yourself into some mold, or inhibiting certain essential aspects of yourself in order to be taken seriously. You may be prone to intense self-doubt and inclined toward excessive guilt, all of which tends to shroud your life in subtle, pervasive ways, and a constant sense of struggle and effort and of having to do it all alone may result. It is true that, in many ways, you will have to stand alone in this life, and cut off from the usual avenues of support, you will be developing true self-reliance, self-definition, and self-responsibility. You may have to break away from your father, his values, or way of being in order to truly be yourself. And, you will be repeatedly tested, which makes you quite aware, probably too much so, of your own limitations and inadequacies. Through this process, however, you will develop a certain toughness and strength you did not have before. Beware of becoming too hardened and serious, however, or of becoming the demanding perfectionist, the severe taskmaster towards other people. Keeping your heart open through the trials of your life rather than succumbing to cynicism or self-condemnation, will certainly enable you to move forward on your path more easily. Sun conjunct Mercury in Taurus: Physical coordination, manual dexterity and a great deal of innate intelligence, even brilliance, are your gifts. You also have a way of communicating that is clear and lively and full of energy, so that others want to hear what you have to say. However, you may be so ego-involved with your ideas and opinions that you do not really take in, listen to, or perceive any other point of view. You may allow your rational mind to dominate your life-expression and find it difficult to relate to the world in any other way. Sun conjunct Mars in Taurus: Learning to direct and use the energies of anger, aggression, competitiveness, passionate desire, and personal will in a creative way is crucial for you in this lifetime. Your courage and your ability to motivate yourself and take initiative may be one of your greatest assets. You have the will to win and an abundance of vital force. However, over using force and becoming belligerent, domineering, or needlessly hostile when your will is blocked can

make you dangerous at times. Athletics are a good avenue for you to express some of this. Pacifying your angry impulses by taking a cool bath or shower, drinking cool liquids, and avoiding hotly spiced foods can be helpful at times. You may find you dislike heat and summertime. Wearing or carrying certain stones such as carnelian, garnet, or fire opals can stimulate you to positively channel these energies. Chapter 3: Rising Sign The point that was on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth is called the ASCENDANT, or rising sign. While the Sun describes your conscious direction and current life focus, and the Moon your subconscious predisposition and past, the Ascendant indicates a way of being that transcends and embraces past, present, and future. It describes the way you engage and merge with the outer world and how you bring through into life the energies depicted by the Sun, the Moon, and the rest of your birth chart. Everything is filtered through the Ascendant from an esoteric point of view. It indicates your soul's function and thus a key part of your destiny. Cancer Rising: Whether you are male or female, you carry the qualities of and in some way embody the archetype of the mother. You will find that you attract people who need care, understanding and encouragement. Devotion and maintaining emotional soul-connections to life is the heart of your approach to living. You are very sympathetic in both the sense that you feel for others and also in the sense of "sympathetic resonance". Your own feelings and moods will often reflect the dominant feeling tone in your environment. You absorb the atmosphere around you and thrive in surroundings that are home-like, personal, supportive, and cooperative. When out of balance you are hypersensitive to hurts and slights, are prone to extreme moodiness, worry, and self-pity, and/or feel like an insatiable needy child yourself. Selfnurturing and self-responsibility are thus extremely important for you to develop in order to bring out your best. Your ruling planet is the Moon. You probably felt a strong identification with the description of your Moon's placement as you read the first section. This is because in your case the Moon not only reflects something about your past and inherited tendencies, but also colors your entire way of relating to the world now. It describes an important aspect of your soul's function. Cancer Rising and Moon in Aries: Your Aries Moon suggests that you are self-reliant and/or that you are really not all that comfortable taking care of others. You may be somewhat split between your devotion to family, home, or dependents versus your allegiance to your own life. There may be a slight reluctance in your defense of home, family, or "your own". At best, you blend sensitivity and loving devotion with action and strength. You could be a strong advocate for children, women, the family or the feminine. Chapter 4: Saturn, Your Achilles Heel

Karmically considered, the placement of Saturn in your birth chart indicates where your energetic blockages, weaknesses and fears lie, and the areas of your life where the most concentrated effort and discipline will be required to master and overcome them. Yet it also points to the aspects of life which can become your greatest strength if you are willing to face your fears and difficulties honestly, and work with them patiently. Saturn in Aquarius Your particular struggle has two faces. First, you can feel alienated from the mainstream of society, unable to comfortably be a part of things or to participate socially, disaffected and oppressed by society's rules or the prevailing order of things in the world. A harsh social critic, you may feel like the lone-wolf, both longing for and refusing acceptance, inclusion and approval from "the group". Your innate distrust of groups or crowds may prevent you from joining in activities you would actually enjoy. Depending on other factors in your chart, you are apt to feel either painfully isolated, or simply aloof. You have an acute social conscience and are prone to feel personally guilty for the collective's mistakes, or to try to instill guilt in others for the same. One negative tendency you also have is to blame all of your own problems on the ills of society, the corruption in the government, "Big Brother", etc. You tend to focus on the gloomiest aspect of the world scene, and to fear the worst. The other side of the coin is a tendency to stifle your uniqueness in order to fit in. Being acceptable and conforming may become overly important to you, so much so that you intensely dislike anyone who deviates from convention or is "weird" in any way. If you find that this is the case, know that you are actually fighting an aspect of your own inner self. You could also become a "joiner", overly identified with social causes to the neglect or determent of your other personal interests or relations. Saturn in 8th house: You have a tendency to protectively withhold yourself and to not give your all. Thus you experience much frustration either sexually, financially, or both. The possibility of a merger (whether on a deep psychic, emotional level, or even in a material way) brings up some of your greatest fears. Sexual politics and issues of personal power and control (all involving an inability to surrender) are apt to be at work behind the scenes. Taking on a karmic debt through your partner or being burdened financially or otherwise by him or her is also possibility. Confronting your fears of giving everything, opening yourself completely and letting go come through these situations. A fear of not being in control may well be the root of many of your protective, defensive, and ultimately self-defeating behavior which you play out in your intimate relationships. Also, a deep concern with death and mortality is evident. Learning to let go, to surrender with grace and ease, to die, based on a basic trust in life may be your greatest challenge. Saturn Square Mercury:

Your mind is serious, deep, and critical. Basically pragmatic and conservative in your thinking, you require concrete, empiric evidence to justify a belief. You can be very one-sided in your thinking, full of doubt, disbelief and skepticism which effectively filters out any information that might enlarge your view of reality. Mental habits that can severely limit you are pessimism, harsh or exacting perfectionism, and a kind of superior judgmental attitude toward those who are less intellectually discriminating than yourself. On the other hand, you may worry that others are more intelligent than you are. On a social level, you may find it difficult to make amiable, superficial chit-chat, and may unintentionally keep potential friends, allies, and opportunities at bay. At its worst, severe shyness or a kind of social phobia may develop. Problems with speech or hearing, and an inner reluctance to communicate or listen are also possible. Consciously using humor, comedy or "laugh therapy" on a regular basis would be very beneficial to you, lightening your mental burdens considerably. Listening to light, playful flute music, bells or chimes can also be helpful. The development of a basically positive, optimistic philosophy of life would enable you to lessen the effects of a mental patterning that is frequently intolerant, overly cautious, or fearful. The wearing of sapphire can help activate the more positive qualities here: mental concentration, depth, focus and clarity. Chapter 5: The Hard Aspects The following is a description of your MAJOR LIFE CHALLENGES, both in terms of energies you are to learn to develop and express in a positive way, and those which are the result of struggles and unresolved karmic issues which you have brought into this life. Mercury is Retrograde: A prior lifetime in which you were discouraged to think, learn, or express your ideas is indicated. This may have carried over in this lifetime as a mild learning problem in childhood, or inner (somewhat unconscious) doubts about your ability to learn or to communicate. Thus, you have a habit of rechecking, reconsidering, reviewing, and rethinking everything before you put it out. You may even have a desire to learn about subjects that seem archaic, to learn about those things which were denied to you in the past. Mercury Conjunct Mars: One of your challenges in this lifetime is to learn to use your sharp intellect and quick tongue in ways that are constructive and beneficial to you and those around you. At your worst you can be verbally abusive, overpowering others with your intellectual arguments or criticism, and create enormous animosity and ill will in the process. Try not to bark orders or command or be so quick to turn all of you encounters into an opportunity to prove yourself right. You may thus gain a reputation for being pushy and quarrelsome which certainly will not work in your favor. The hard-shell approach generally back fires. Certainly there are some arenas where a clear, sharp intellect and the ability to state your opinions forcefully are an asset, courtroom law, for instance, or in certain academic climates and

pursuits. Confrontation, self-assertion, and expressing anger does have its place, but when you are out of balance with this energy you can experience severe headaches, accident proneness (especially those involving travel, sharp instruments or breaking glass), nervous tension, and, as implied above, discordant relations with people. It would be helpful for you to learn and regularly practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques to calm your nervous system. Wearing or carrying certain gemstones may facilitate this also, such as rose quartz, jade, emerald, peridot, or chrysoprase. More than anything, however, awareness is the key. Rather than blaming the outside world for things that irritate you, look instead at your own penchant to be argumentative and irritated. If you can harmonize this aspect of your nature, you will evolve a brilliance and clarity of mind, along with the energy and decisiveness to act on your creative ideas. Venus SemiSquare Pluto: The realm of human love and human relating is not one you can enter into lightly or casually. For you it is always an all-or-nothing, whole-hearted, and ultimately transformative experience. Great joy and tremendous pain, betrayals, intense desire, and longings are part of your soul's path and pattern in this lifetime. A deepening of your heart and your capacity to love, as well as a purification of your values, is what this is all about. It may be the loss of one particular person in a particularly poignant and excruciating way, or a series of encounters which bring you ever deeper into your own attachments. Even abusive relationships may be the arenas in which this occurs. Ultimately, you are meant to discover the power of love to heal, to renew and resurrect your own and others' lives. The darker side or temptation on this path is to use love (or attractiveness, and others' love for you) to control, manipulate, or force your will upon them. A love of power -instead of the power of love - would then be your downfall. Uranus is Retrograde: All of the above is complicated by the fact that in prior times, you experienced great personal instability as a result of impersonal, collective impulses toward change (during a time of revolution, political upheaval, war, etc.). You may well have been an agent of these movements, with a lingering inclination toward radical solutions, extremism, flauntingly disregarding social mores. Or you may have become a reactionary, fearing and resisting all reforms or departures from the "main stream". It is thus difficult for you to be balanced and fair towards any eccentricities (in others or even in yourself). A misuse of science or technology, perhaps participating in experiments which were harmful to you or others, is also indicated. Thus, you may have a deep distrust of or an attraction/repulsion toward science and technological advancement. Uranus Opposition Neptune: You and many others born the year you were are inherently open to experiencing unusual states of consciousness and higher inspiration. However, your grasp of reality may be rather

shaky at times. In your incarnational past you practiced extreme methods that forced open your higher spiritual centers before you were prepared to constructively channel those energies and/or you were involved in extreme idealistic systems of thought that were not particularly wellgrounded. It is important for you to moderate this extremism and to stabilize yourself. Any mind-altering practice or substance should be utilized with caution. Develop regularity and rhythm in your life, and use your inspirational energies to infuse your ordinary life with imagination. Too much focus on utopia or spirituality can lead to disorientation. You easily get too "far-out". Chapter 6: Soft Aspects The following is a description of your GIFTS and STRENGTHS which can help you work with your major life challenges. These are abilities and qualities of heart, mind, and soul which are quite natural to you. You probably take them for granted. Because these represent the lines of least resistance for you, you may rely too much upon them at times; hence, there are some cautions suggested. Still, these are the areas where good flows into your life and/or where you have considerable inner resources. Venus Sextile Neptune: You are highly sensitive and receptive to beauty. You love art, beautiful music, harmony, and love in all its forms. You have delicate feelings and intuitively understand others through compassion. Thus, you naturally want to help, to give, to alleviate suffering where you can, and not just for people, but for all creatures. Your love naturally is inclusive, all embracing and unconditional. This pattern in you bespeaks of considerable spiritual evolvement and refinement. You are one who can walk and talk with the angels. Perhaps the only drawback here is that you are easily bruised, and it is difficult for you to endure harshness, prolonged conflict, and other "earthly" conditions. Jupiter Sextile Pluto: You have a gift for leadership (political, social, or spiritual) depending upon your basic orientation toward life, and this is something you will not have to struggle or fight to attain. It will be a natural position for you, one that others will be urging you to assume. Even if you choose not to be in the limelight, you will wield a significant influence upon others' lives. Your sense of honor, moral uprightness, and concern for the broader implications of your life and actions are part of your soul's merits. You can also help organize and coordinate many people's efforts, contributions, and aspirations in order to achieve something great that none of you could have done as a single individual. When you do this, "miracles" and magic seems to happen! Saturn Trine Pluto: Your latent but well developed capacity to endure hardship, deprivation, solitude, and long periods of difficult, painstaking work is one of your strengths, stemming from lifetimes of renunciation and adhering to severe disciplines. In this lifetime you can draw on the core inner resources you developed then. Work that involves elements of finding what is hidden, silence, seclusion, single pointed concentration, or research will utilize this gift. Living simply, even

austerely, may appeal to you as you have learned to do so under extreme conditions. You are a survivor, no matter what. You may also have a natural tendency to isolate yourself or to become one-sidedly fixated upon your goals and purposes, something you learned to do in the past.
