Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter 9th December 2011

What fantastic performances weve had this week. Well done to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 and to Years 3 and 4 for this weeks excellent performances, Well done to everybody for a brilliant Christmas Fair last night. What a great community effort. Thank you very much to all our supporters and helpers. We look forward to the Year 5 and 6 performance next week as well as the Christmas parties and our Carols by candlelight event next Friday just before school breaks up at 2 pm. Please remember that there is no After School Club on Friday. Jayne Kennedy

CHILDRENS CORNER

Due to the cold weather both Jogging Club and Gardening Club have been cancelled until further notice. We have 2 new clubs starting after Christmas, Miss Maher will be starting Games Club for KS1 (Yr 1 and 2) and for KS 2, (Yr 3,4,5 and 6), Mrs Leah will be restarting Craft Club. Details of days and will follow on next weeks newsletter. **************** Just a reminder to parents, Homework Books are to be returned every Wednesday for KS1 and Tuesday for KS2. **************** We were very proud to receive our Healthy Schools Gold Award last year, however, some children are still bringing chocolate and sweets into school at break-time. Please could you ensure that your child only brings healthy snacks into school for playtimes

Year 5 are very excited about starting their Shakespeare's Macbeth project at the Royal Exchange as part of the Chorlton Network work School is involved with. ****** Yeqr 5 attended a creative writing workshop at Chorlton High School to support their transition to high School. ******** Year 3/4 have been very busy this week making chocolates to sell at the Christmas Fair and Y3/4 KE had lots of fun on their visit to the Thorntons shop in Manchester Arndale.

All money raised at the Christmas Fair is going towards the buying of outdoor playing equipment. Ms Kennedy and Miss Elliott have said that school will double the money raised so we will update you on the totals next week.
