Process flow description (for forge flange)
1. Selecting Material
a. Billet or round bar has been selected in making weld neck Ilange using Iorge
Ilange process.

. Cutting process
a. The material has been cutting according to the speciIic dimension using bandsaw
or gas cutting machine or shear machine.

. Forging process
a. We using impression die Iorging process operation and the impression die Iorging
pounds or presses metal between two dies (called tooling) that contain a precut
proIile oI the desired part. Parts Irom a Iew ounces to 60,000 lbs. can be made
using this process.
b. In the simplest example oI impression die Iorging, two dies are brought together
and the work piece undergoes plastic deIormation until its enlarged sides touch
the side walls oI the die. Then, a small amount oI material begins to Ilow outside
the die impression Iorming Ilash that is gradually thinned. The Ilash cools rapidly
and presents increased resistance to deIormation and helps build up pressure
inside the bulk oI the work piece that aids material Ilow into unIilled impressions.




4. Heat treatment process
a. Heat treatment process due to relieve residual stresses caused by welding, bending
or Iorming.
b. The code requires heat treatment Ior :
i. Carbon steels thicker than / in.
ii. Most low alloy steels thicker than in.



. Inspection process
a. The aim oI inspection is to obtain inIormation about structural deIects. Inspecting
items include the Iour Iollowing items in general.
b. Dirt, Scale, Scratches, Weld Splatter, on Gasket Seating SurIaces, general Ilange
surIace Iinish including warping oI the Ilange can result in Ilange leakage and
lack oI inspection results in many Ilange leakages within the Industry Sectors.
c. Example oI preIerred surIace Iinishes maximizing sealing ability. Remove rust
and paint by using a soIt wire brush to remove debris Irom the Ilange Iace. Whilst
using a wire brush to clean a Ilange Iace, the cleaning motion must Iollow the
concentric groove direction

. Lathe Machining process
a. AIter the inspection the work piece are taken to the lathe machine to remove some
part according to drawing in speciIic dimension.

. Drilling process
a. AIter we get the shape oI the Ilange according to the drawing, the work piece is
taken to the drilling machine to make a hole or thread based on speciIic
dimension.

. Second inspection process
a. AIter drilling process the work piece is now having second inspection to make
sure the hole are in correct position according to the drawing.

9. Marking process
a. Marking process was proceeding aIter the work piece has become the Ilange such
as weld neck Ilange and has been mark. The important or the marking is to make
sure the all part oI the Ilange are in good condition and also to conIirm all the
dimension is according to the drawing perIectly with 0.05mm tolerance.

10. Packing process
a. The Iinished Ilange when pass all the inspection and the marking process are
continue being wrap or packing Ior shipping process

11. Shipping process
a. The pack oI Ilange are now being shipping to buyer







Process flow description (for steel plate flange)
1. Selecting Material
a. Plate steel has been selected in making weld neck Ilange using Iorge Ilange
process.

. Cutting process
a. The material has been cutting according to the speciIic dimension using press
machine or gas cutting machine or shear machine.

. Levering process
a. The part now going under levering process aIter that it should be inspect whether
the dimension are according to the drawing.
