Table 2: Features Comparison Touch Screen

A thin-film transistor (TFT) is a special field-effect transistor which made by depositing thin films of a semiconductor active layer this material used to reducing crosstalk between pixels and improving image stability. It is also known as active matrix display technology (and contrasts with
"passive matrix" which does not have a transistor at each pixel). A TFT or active matrix display is more responsive to change. For example, when you move your mouse across the screen, a TFT display is fast enough to reflect the movement of the mouse cursor. (With a passive matrix display, the cursor temporarily disappears until the display can "catch up.")1. Blacberry Torch 9850 offer this type of toucscreen with include 16M color definition.

technology era, the LED backlighting is most commonly used in small, inexpensive LCD panels. This LED backlighting have less flutter
and are more efficient than TFT but usually not quite as bright and doesnt reproduce colors quite as well as the spectrum of light isn't as good on cheaper LEDs. The advantages of this

screen is the LED backlighting will boosts LCD

performance in efficiency and image quality, while making the display panel slimmer in the process. So in the term of customer satisfaction the LED backlight with capacitive touch screen

which must be touched with a finger and not affected by outside elements with high clarity can provide more exceptional operator viewing comfort. At this point of view, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is more impressive than others. Wi-Fi
Wifi, is a hardware and software device for wirelessly connecting electronic devices. Normally a device that enable with Wi-Fi, can connect to the Internet via a wireless network access point with normally has a range of about 20 meters (65 ft) indoors and a greater range outdoors. It also can be an network connection or data transferring module for one peripheral device

to another. A WiFi Hotspot is a site that offers Internet access over a wireless local area network through the use of a router connected to a link to an Internet service provider 2.

Basically, both of this features is include in smart phone as well as this analysis that we discuss about. As each type of smart phone that discussed here, such Black Berry Torch 9850, I phone 4, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray have this the WiFi and support the WiFi Hotspot.

Only the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray added new features that called Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). DLNA is a system that simply connected all your devices to your Wi-Fi network and share content between them. The function of the DLNA standard is to
enables easy sharing of data such as media player, music, video, and any data peripheral over an existing home network. An example is one scenario that might be streaming music from PC to our networked TV, or streaming video from our phone to our TV via WiFi. This feature was added in Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray as an added value

to impress their customer, which makes this cell phone more interesting rather than other which only have the basic Wi-Fi console.

3G Application As we all know, the 3G technology is stands for "third generation" which is the latest technology provided in mobile communications. This network communication, has a potential transfer speeds of up to 3 Mbps (about 15 seconds to download a 3-minute MP3 song). The first pre-commercial 3G network launched in May 2001 by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. The network was

branded as FOMA. Following the first pre-commercial launch, NTT DoCoMo again made history with the first commercial launch of 3G in Japan on Oct. 1, 2001.3 Then, the 3G technologies comes to latest enhancement, with the functional of HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) this function is referred to a 3.5G networks that allows the user to get the higher data speeds for internet connectivity. Basically they have two aspects to this technology that is:

1. HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) is the improves the downlink of the data transmission. 2. HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access) is the improves the uplink or transmission. For those information that we have described above, all the Smartphone that we analyze, had include those features, either 3G or both enhancement features that is HSDPA and HSUPA, although they have differences with the range of speed. However Blackberry 3G

applications step ahead of the other phone either Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray or Apple I Phone 4, with a few more hightech features for example EV-DO Rev. A 3.1 Mbps that provides Rev A which capable of slightly faster downlink speeds

than is EV-DO Rev 0, at 3.1Mbps, as well as significantly faster uplink speeds of 1.8Mbps. This is used to data optimizing which can provides more rates and could be deployed alongside a wireless carrier's voice services.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth technology is a short-range communications technology that is simple, secure, and everywhere. This technology is ambitiously to replace the cables

connecting devices, while maintaining high levels of security.

The Bluetooth technologies have many key features that is: 1. Robustness 2. Low power 3. Low cost.
A fundamental strength of Bluetooth wireless technology is the ability to simultaneously handle data and voice transmissions. which provides users with a variety of innovative solutions such as hands-free headsets for voice calls, printing and fax capabilities, and synchronization for PCs and mobile phones, just to name a few. 4 EDR is a one of the enhancement features of the Bluetooth specification which allows the transferring files faster. The advantages of this connection between two Bluetooth EDR can reach transfer speeds of over 2Mbps.

It is recommended that we choose Bluetooth with enhanced data rate (EDR). EDR means the upgrades to Bluetooth specification that enables it to attain much higher data rates and improved performance. In this aspect, we can exclude Apple iPhone 4 from our consideration since it do not have EDR.

GPS
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS was originally intended for military applications, but in the 1980s, the government made the system available for civilian use. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. There are no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS.5

According above statements, Global positioning system (GPS) with upgraded mode which is assisted GPS (A-GPS) is recommended since it is a system that can improve the startup performance, or time-to-first-fix (TTFF) of a GPS satellite-based positioning system under certain conditions. All of the smart phones have this feature. And this can facilitate the user to know their position where ever they are.
