1:Handling of teenage pregnancy

Though you are likely to be intensely angry, sad and scared when you first find out, remember your teen is experiencing the same emotions. It is not the time to punish or lash out. Instead you need to discuss the available options, and do so with both of the affected families if possible. You'll want to cover all the pros and cons of raising the baby, putting the child up for adoption or terminating the pregnancy with an abortion. Allow everyone involved to state their preferences while assuring the girl that her final decision will be supported. If the teen decides to abort, parents need to ensure the procedure will be performed by a qualified physician in an appropriate medical facility. The pregnant girl should see a counselor both before and after the procedure and may need follow-up counseling sessions as well. If the choice is adoption, you will have to help your teen locate the right organization and decide whether or not the adoption should be open or closed. Finally, if the baby will be born and kept in the family, a plan for taking care of the child financially and otherwise must be hashed out between the two families. Issues such as sexual activity and birth control should be addressed along with any other concerns. You should not attempt to pretend it never happened if the teenager has had an abortion or put the baby up for adoption. This will be detrimental to the teenager who has to face the aftermath of an unintended pregnancy and needs the unconditional support of family.

4:Handling of drug
Then the What becomes an issue. Spending time at a party or associating with questionable characters is not in and of itself a problem. The real problem occurs when teens use their stolen moments to engage in activities that endanger themselves or others. For example, it is a rare party that does not have alcohol and drugs available. That is not to say that all teens will partake, but when mood altering substances are available, bad things can happen. Physical accidents, unwanted sexual intimacies, driving under the influence, and drug or alcohol overdoses happen frequently when adolescents are allowed to use alcohol and drugs. Sometimes, it is the parent hosts who look the other way or who provide the alcohol - excusing this behavior by the false rational that it allows them to monitor what their adolescent is doing in the safety of the home environment. Studies about drug and alcohol abuse are very alarming nowadays. Most of these reports will tell you that the teenage drug and alcohol abuse rate is constantly rising and the victims of the said abuse are becoming younger and younger. Because of this, it would be best that you as a parent would be able to understand the nature of teenage alcohol and drug abuse. There are various reasons why someone would resort to drugs and alcohol and oftentimes, these reasons are not as profound as one would hope they would be. The number one culprit for teenage drugs and alcohol abuse is peer pressure. We watch it in the movies, we see it through the internet and we hear it on the radio drugs and alcohol are very much available to the youth of our society. Parties, whether they are in clubs or in individual homes, often have illegal drugs available and because of peer pressure, kids wanting to be part of the in crowd, a teen can easily start doing drugs and eventually become so hooked up that they find great difficulty in giving it up.Another reason for teenage drug and alcohol abuse is family problems. no matter what. Screaming, cursing, and blaming your child for his lost future are not exactly beneficial but instead, you must seek to help her find out as much information about the perfect teen drug and alcohol abuse treatment available as you can.

5:Handling of suicide
Often, preventing teen suicide means treating teen depression. Since 75 percent of the people who commit suicide are depressed (according to the University of Texas), it is a good start to begin by treating the symptoms of teen depression. It is possible to get professional help in preventing teen suicide. Indeed, this is a preferred option. If you are concerned about your teenager, talk to your child's doctor about the available options and therapies for teen depression. You should see someone immediately (and never leave your teen alone) if you suspect that a suicide attempt is imminent. Some things you might try include: Counseling. This can be done individually or as a family. Techniques allow your teenager to learn to cope with life. Often, when a teen learns how to handle problems (and families learn how to help), the desire to kill him or herself dissipates.

Residential treatment. This is treatment in which a suicidal teen goes elsewhere to live for a time. This can be a special treatment facility, or it can be a therapeutic boarding school. In these settings, the teenager is monitored 24/7 in order to prevent a suicide attempt. Additionally, most residential treatment facilities have trained professional staff that can help a suicidal teen. Medication. This is often seen as a last resort, or as something complementary to other treatments. It is important to note that in some teenagers, medication can have the opposite effect desired; some studies show that for some teens anti-depressants actually increase the chance of teen suicide. Carefully consider your teen's needs before medicating. It is important to treat your child with respect and understanding. Show your unconditional love, and offer emotional support. It is important that a teen considering suicide feel loved and wanted. Show your teenager that it is possible to overcome life's challenges, and make sure that he or she knows that you are willing to help out.

6:Handling of inplusive behavior:Some parents of teenagers have to deal with the out-ofcontrol behaviors in which teens engage. A teenage daughter may stop listening to her parents' directions; she may leave and not inform her parents of her whereabouts; she may talk back to all authority figures; and she may engage in high-risk and/or impulsive behaviors. According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, teens are biologically hardwired to behave, problem solve and make decisions differently from adults; teens may be impulsive, dangerous and irrational because their frontal cortex, which controls reasoning, is not fully developed.

Step 1Make time for yourself. There are limits to what you can do if you feel stressed or overwhelmed; therefore, it becomes necessary when working with a child who is engaged in troubling behaviors to take time for yourself to recharge and renew. Attend to your own needs. Set aside time for yourself to focus on you and do things you enjoy. Keep your life on track. Maintain your appointments, such as doctor's appointments. Step 2 Get your own support system. Dealing with an out-of-control teenage daughter can be trying on marriages; it can make you feel alone and unsuccessful as a parent. Developing your own system of support will provide you with a network of people you can trust and turn to for support and ideas. Talk with a close friend or family member when you become overwhelmed by your daughter. Get involved with a mental health professional, such as a counselor. The counselor will be able to offer you guidance and assistance if your daughter's behaviors become unsafe and you need to take immediate action. Step 3 Make sure your daughter is under the care of a mental health professional. According to TeensHealth.org, a teen who is engaged in out-of-control behaviors--such as falling grades, skipping school, getting in trouble with the law, using drugs or alcohol, showing drastic changes in personality or talking about suicide--may have underlying mental health problems that need to be addressed through treatment. Ask your daughter to begin working with a therapist. Help her maintain her commitment to therapy by taking her to sessions and ensuring she takes any medicine that is prescribed. Step 4 Take her to the emergency room if her behaviors become uncontrollable and she refuses to engage in treatment. Uncontrollable behaviors may include aggressive behaviors, self-harm, drug abuse, running away or other high-risk behaviors. Tell the emergency room about her out-of-control behaviors. Ask for her to receive a full psychiatric evaluation. Step 5 Set boundaries. An out-of-control teenage daughter will try to manipulate and sway you to get her way, which will only lead to more uncontrollable behaviors. Develop agreed upon limitations with your daughter's other parent. Pledge to hold yourself to these boundaries no matter what your daughter does or says. Stick to the limitations you have agreed upon. Support the other parent when your daughter is trying to manipulate him/her. Step 6 Avoid increasing the attention you give your daughter when she acts out. A teen who is out of control will engage in attention-getting behaviors if she feels she is not getting all the attention she wants. These behaviors may include things such as fighting, doing drugs, breaking the law or threatening to harm herself

Risk-taking behavior and accidents in adolescence in developed countries]..

[Injuries due to accidents are the primary cause of fatalities among adolescents. Between the ages of 10 and 19, mortality caused by accidents augments significantly, and there is an excess of male mortality, increasing with age. This mortality has remained virtually unchanged over the past 25 years, except for a small narrowing of rate differences by sex. Traffic accidents, particularly those involving motorcycles, are the leading cause of accident fatalities. Though not easily assessed, morbidity due to accidents is probably very high, especially among males. Sports accidents are the most frequent. Adolescents appear to be particularly exposed to some risks, but also tend to be careless about safety. Risk-taking is a source of rewards: pleasure, selfaffirmation, sense of independence; but it is described by some authors as self-destructiveness, death from accidents reflecting suicidal tendencies. Paradoxical results of prevention have been observed in this age group Risk-taking behavior and accidents in adolescence in developed countries]..

1:Suicide Causes.
Untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide. Untreated mental illness (including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and others) is the cause for the vast majority of suicides. Also, some people are genetically predisposed to depression, and thus they may not appear to be undergoing any negative life experiences, yet still become depressed, and may die by suicide. So, some people die by suicide because of a depression that was caused by genetics. You probably have heard about some indivuduals who died by suicide and did not exhibit any symptoms or appear to have any serious problems. In these cases, it is possible that the person had depression that occured because of this genetic factor. It is very rare that someone dies by suicide because of one cause. Thus, there are usually several causes, and not just one, for suicide. Many people die by suicide because depression is triggered by several negative life experiences, and the person does not receive treatment or does not receive effective treatment for the depression. (Some people need to go through several treatments until they find one that works for them.)

Some of the negative life experiences that may cause depression, and some other causes for depression, include: The death of a loved one. A divorce, separation, or breakup of a relationship. Losing custody of children, or feeling that a child custody decision is not fair. A serious loss, such as a loss of a job, house, or money. A serious illness. A terminal illness. A serious accident. Chronic physical pain. Intense emotional pain. Loss of hope. Being victimized (domestic violence, rape, assault, etc). A loved one being victimized (child murder, child molestation, kidnapping, murder, rape, assault, etc.). Physical abuse. Verbal abuse. Sexual abuse. Unresolved abuse (of any kind) from the past. Feeling helpless. Serious legal problems, such as criminal prosecution or incarceration. Feeling "taken advantage of." Inability to deal with a perceived "humiliating" situation. Inability to deal with a perceived "failure." Alcohol abuse.

Drug abuse. A feeling of not being accepted by family, friends, or society. A horrible disappointment. Feeling like one has not lived up to his or her high expectations or those of another. Bullying. (Adults, as well as children, can be bullied.) Low self-esteem.

3:Causes of Alcoholism Addiction

Alcoholism addiction is a severe problem and should not be taken lightly. More than 13 million people in the United States alone are alcoholics. The causes of alcoholism are diverse. There are many factors that lead to alcohol dependence. Most people have a mixture of several factors that lead them to become alcoholics.

Genetic factors
Sometimes alcoholism can be attributed to genetics. If you have a close relative who had alcohol dependency problems the chances that you will have problem also are greatly increased. Alcoholism runs in families. Yet, some people who have alcoholic relatives do not become alcoholics. While there is much to learn about the genetic factors involved in alcoholism if you have parents who were alcoholics you need to be careful about your own alcohol use.

Physiological

Poverty and physical/sexual abuse are two factors that can contribute to alcoholism addiction. If you grow up in a poor urban area the chances are increased that you will have a dependency problem. The same holds true for those who have suffered physical, mental or sexual abuse in the past. Often these people learn to take away the pain and memories of the past hurt by turning to alcohol.

Psychological
Traits such as impulsiveness, low self-esteem and need for approval all can lead to alcohol dependence. Alcohol can provide a new world for some people a world where they are important and happy. When the alcohol wears off they find they are no different so they need to drink more alcohol to again become happy. The same is true for those with depression. Depression and alcoholism go hand in hand. Many people who suffer from depression selfmedicate with alcohol. This gives them a temporary good feeling. However, the after-effects make them slump into an even greater depression. The cycle continues so that the person must have alcohol to feel as though they can survive.

Social
Peer pressure and easy availability of alcohol can aid some users, particularly younger ones, in becoming alcoholics. What starts as drinking with others may easily turn to alcoholism. Teens may drink to impress their friends and to be one of the gang. They may like the attention they get when they drink. Many people like to brag about their drinking and their ability to hold their liquor. This may make them drink even more. Social drinking at college is another way that young people get involved in regular drinking. Soon they find that they have become dependant on alcohol and have trouble stopping. Misuse of alcohol can cause many different long-term problems because the whole body is affected. Some of these problems can lead to death. (Hyperlink all topics in this list to their article in the HIP library if there is an article about them.) Heart disease: high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, heart damage, heart failure Cancer (mainly in conjunction with the cancerous effects of other substances, such as cigarette smoke); Liver problems: liver damage, hepatitis, cirrhosis, cancer; Problems of the stomach, lungs, kidneys, skin, muscle, and bones; Infections (alcohol suppresses the immune system.);

Mental disorders: problems with attention, learning, and memory;depression; mood swings; anxiety disorders; Insomnia; Malnutrition; and Impotence and infertility in men.

Women who drink while pregnant have an increased chance of miscarriage. Babies of mothers who drink may be born at a low birth weight and with physical, mental, and behavioral problems. Many of these problems last into adulthood.

Alcohol abuse and dependence also substantially increase the risk of accidents and violent behavior. For example, alcohol plays a major part in over half of all deaths from car accidents. Misuse of alcohol increases the risk of rape, domestic violence, child abuse, suicide, and murder.

4:CAUSES premature sex

(1) Pressure: Pressure from parents, friends, peer group, lecturer, boss, future partners. Some men do mount pressure physically on their partners while some ladies mount pressure on their partners by dressing carelessly exposing their nakedness to seduce men. Some male bosses in places of work do mount pressure on their female workers, they want girls that can work for them and still satisfy them sexually. (2) Curiosity: Many youths have engaged themselves in premarital sex as a result of curiosity. They thought they were searching for reality, but they ended up destroying themselves. They are not satisfied with what their parents, pastors and christian friends told them concerning sex, they want to experience it themselves. (5) Environmental influence: We live in a corrupt society where people do not see anything bad in ungodliness they do not see premarital sex as sin; they see it as a normal thing. Hence, girls are encouraged to dress exposing their bodies. Premarital sex has become the norm of the society. Some Christian youths find it difficult to cope in this kind of environment; hence, they fall into this ungodly act.

(6) Covetousness: Greed for money, wealth and position is another cause of premarital sex. Some ladies want money at all costs hence they are ready to use their bodies to get it by sleeping around with men. (7) Indiscipline: Lack of discipline has led many singles into the dungeon of premarital sex. (8) Wrong association: This has led many youth into destruction. Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are. (9) Ignorance: Lack of good sex education has led many youth into premarital sex, some went into it not knowing what they were doing. (10) Wrong information: Since parents have refused to educate their children on the subject and the church is not forth coming with anything meaningful, the youth have resorted to any information they can get from anywhere either wrong or right.

5:causes of teenage pregnancy:

1) Lack of Parental Guidance: Most people evade their children from talking about sex. In some cases, they provide false information regarding sex and discourage their children to participate in any informative discussion about sex. In some cases, teenage mothers are not well educated about sex before getting pregnant and thus this leads to lack of communication between the parents and the children. 2) Adolescent Sexual Behavior: Among the adolescents, peer pressure is a major factor that encourages the teenage boys and girls to indulge in sexual activities. Early dating, as early as 12 years of age, is another factor that contributes to teen pregnancy. According to a research, 29% of teens were pressurized to have sex, 33% of teens were sexually active and that they felt things moving fast sexually. 3) Inadequate Knowledge about Safe Sex: Most adolescents are unaware of safe sex. They probably have no access to the traditional methods of preventing pregnancy. And the main reason behind is that they are either too embarrassed or fear to seek information about it. It was found that more than 80% of teenage pregnancies are unintended. 4) Exploitation by Older Men: This is another major factor that contributes to pregnancy among the teenagers. Those girls who date older men are more likely to become pregnant before they attain womanhood. Rape, sexual exploitations etc. also takes place that leads to unwanted pregnancy among teenage girls. 5) Socio Economic Factors: Teenage girls who belong to the poor families are more likely to become pregnant. Researchers have found that even in the developed countries teenage

pregnancy occurs most commonly among the deprived sectioTeenage Pregnancy is one of the problems in todays society. Many teenagers today dont know how big responsibility to raise a child when they are young too. Becoming a parent is a big responsibility that should give priority, but how can teenagers can handle this big responsibility if she was too young too? To raise a child involves a lot of patient and sacrifices which lot teens dont have. The risk of pregnancy among teenagers is largely increasing. Some teenagers who get pregnant early may experience anxiety, depression and other emotional problem. We know that teenagers ages of 15-19 are still young so emotion and other feelings of being teenagers might occur. Some of the causes of early pregnancy among teenagers are lack of education especially sexual education, poverty, undergraduate, or problem with their family. Lack of Education among teenagers should be given priority; I am agreeing that sexual education should be learned in school. To aware them from the effect that may occur. Problem with family is another issue, some of the teenagers are not provided with their own family, and most of the teenagers get rebelled. These are some of the cause why they are so many teenagers gets pregnant early, which I think the government should look in to it. Government should look forward on how to resolve this issue. Teenagers should be educated with this kind of problem, especially those teenagers who are already sexually active. If the Government should not give chances to these issues, teenage pregnancy will increase rapidly.ns.

6:causes of impulsive behavior

Aggression and violence are a direct result of impulsive demeanors but people normally do not act on such impulses unless they loose control. Whether it is a child or a teenager or an adult who has behavioral problems, the condition needs to be understood in the background of childhood history and the detrimental affects of the fast paced culture, unstable family environments and media influences. There is a dire need of considering the affect of the current cultural environment on development of a child's brain and its carry over impact during teenage years and adulthood. The present day culture of instant gratification, short and concise news stories, fast food, loud music and instant accessibility has affected the modern generation in an entirely unexpected manner. The 'instant culture' has led to an addiction of a different nature. Children find themselves in position where they are unable to resist the temptation of sensation seeking behaviors simply because they are bored. It is one of the major causes behind impulsive behavior, lack of attention span, and hyperactivity.

As children become more accustomed to living a fast life, they find it difficult to tolerate quiet environments like a classroom where they are supposed to sit quietly and listen. The problem is aggravated when the school system is unable to meet the challenge head on and take corrective measures in refurbishing age old curricula and out-dated teaching methods. There is no denying the fact that some children and adults do suffer from genuine neurological problems that cause one or more psychiatric disorders, but at the same time there is an ongoing controversy regarding the scientific proof of many psychological disorders and the efficacy of psychotropic medication in treating them. There are millions of children being administered psychotropic medication and provided classroom adjustments to help correct impulsive conduct and enable them to focus on lessons but it is unfair to quickly label children with psychological disorders. The human body is much more that an assembly of neural activity. Impulsiveness can also be due to the way children grow up, which depends upon the negative stimulation that they receive during early age.
