FSA (Forum for Social Activities) We, the students of school of management studies (MBA),Dr.

John Matthai centre ,Thrissur,launched Forum for Social Activities (FSA), an initiative to make the Youth aware about the social responsibilities towards the society and how MBAs can effectively manage it. This humble measure is to promote the social responsibility among the students.

MEDICAL CAMP Social responsibility is an integral part of Management Studies. As a part of our SR, we organized a Medical Camp on 20th august 2011 in collaboration with Amala Institute of Medical Sciences. The inspiration for conducting the camp was the survey that had been carried out by our team in the locality and the warm support extended by the corporation councilors of the region. The health problems in the local people which had been increasing during that period and the spread of infectious disease also compelled us to conduct the camp. More than two hundred patients attended the camp. They were also provided with necessary medicines.

20th ANNUAL MANAGEMENT CONVENTION 2011-TMA Our event management team executed various events within and outside the campus which proved beneficial to the students and the society as a whole. It developed managing and organizing skills among the management students through direct exposure to the real world. Our involvement with the Trichur Management Association in connection with its 20th Annual Management Convention has unfolded before us the practical lessons of event management. The presence and speeches of the eminent personalities made the event marvelous and memorable. The prestigious TMA scholarship was won by one of our classmates Ms.Saithya.K

KNOL-THE BOOK CLUB

As we are conscious that regular reading contributes to the enrichment of our knowledge in terms of human experience and information, we have started a book club under the guidance of one of our senior faculties, Prof. T.S. Nagarajan. Presently, we have a collection of valuable books which can play a positive role in shaping the attitude and career of management students.

TREE PLANTATION Trees have a prominent role in maintaining the ecological balance. The increasing acts of deforestation and urbanization reduce the quality of our nature. With a view to put in our little contribution to control this, we have planted the medicinal plant: Ashoka in our campus under the direction of oushadi who provided us with the saplings. Apart from this, we associated with other departments of the centre and planted saplings of different species on the occasion of the Environment Day Programmes.

SEMINARS Our seminar committee has organized seminars which gave the students a golden opportunity to interact with the tycoons in and around Thrissur and share knowledge with eminent personalities. These seminars gave insights to the students as to how the cooperates engage in business and exists in the market.

PLACEMENT COMMITTEE Placement committee focuses on initiating and nurturing relationship with recruiters, conceptualizing and articulating a positioning strategy for institute.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT COMMITTEE

The committee facilitates industrial visit for the students in such a way that it makes them acclimatize to the industrial climate. The motive behind the functioning of the I.V club is to provide an industrial interface to the management learners.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COMMITTEE The committee inculcates the skills among the management students to think innovatively and executing the same by converting it into future opportunity. The club has arranged sessions with entrepreneurs who have proved their mettle in their own business horizon so as to gain insight from them and to provide them with required training.
