This hospital list has been compiled to provide you with a comprehensive list of private hospitals throughout the United Kingdom (UK). Groupama Healthcare has agreed with all the hospitals that they bill us directly for authorised inpatient and daypatient treatment. This will prevent you having to pay the invoice yourself and then reclaiming the costs. For outpatient treatment, however, you may find that the hospital requests payment at the time of treatment. Groupama Healthcare is constantly reviewing the services provided and the charges made by the hospitals on our list. As a result hospitals may be added to or deleted from the list from time to time. This list was correct at the time of printing. Groupama Healthcare can accept no responsibility for any accidental errors or omissions. Scale of Cover Your Membership Certificate will indicate your scale of cover. This will be either Provincial Scale (Prov) or London Scale (Lon). The hospital list indicates which hospitals fall within which scale of cover. If you have Provincial Scale cover you are strongly advised to use only those hospitals that are shown as being included under the Provincial Scale of cover. If you have Provincial Scale cover and you use any other hospital you may be personally responsible for the costs incurred. Your specialist will discuss with you the most appropriate hospital to provide your treatment. However, it is important that you check in this handbook that the hospital is able to offer treatment within your scale of cover before you receive the treatment. NHS Hospitals In addition to the hospitals shown on the list, you may also receive treatment within NHS hospitals that fall within your scale of cover. Please ensure you contact the Claims Helpline to discuss and obtain pre-authorisation for proposed treatment. If you do not do so then you could incur charges that are not covered under the terms of your policy. You may be treated as a private patient in a private patient unit or in a pay bed. However, you should note that in some cases pay beds may not differ from standard NHS accommodation and their availability is at the discretion of the NHS. Alternatively, you may elect to be treated as an NHS patient. In this event we will pay you the benefit specified in your policy documents for each night spent in hospital for treatment that is covered by the policy. Specialist In the event that you are to be referred to a specialist, you should show your General Practitioner this hospital list. All Treatment must be carried out in either a hospital included on this list and within your level of cover, the Specialists own consulting rooms or another facility approved by us in advance of treatment otherwise costs will not be met in full. Therefore, it is important that the Specialist to whom you are referred has rights to admit patients to one of the hospitals within your scale of cover. Your General Practitioner will be able to advise you about this. Remember that you must contact the CLAIMS HELPLINE on 0870 444 8291 for authorisation before you arrange any treatment. Also, you are strongly advised to use only Provincial Scale hospitals (Prov) if you have Provincial Scale cover. This list is effective from August 2008.
