Initial Review for ISO 22000:2005

Initial review conducted Mr. Jai Kumar and following observations observed. S. No. Observation 01. 02. Food Safety Policy is to be displayed on a board at Main gate area in hindi, which should be visible to all employees, visitors and interested parties. Visitors log book is to maintained as the enterance. Every visitor has to inform about the purpose of visit. All material coming in to the factory has to checked by security guard and has to addressed in log book. Material has to be checked for quantity and weight. Site lay out plan is to be made and displayed for each unit indicating process flow, fire extinguishers, First aid box location with color coding as follows 1. Emergency exit arrows :2. First Aid Boxes Points :04. 05 3. Fire Extinguishers stands :Work instruction is required how to use first aid box and a list of medicines is to be pasted near first aid boxes. Separate bins were not available for disposal of different type of waste e.g. raw material waste, general waste e.g. paper, plastic etc. Separate bins are required with color coding recommended as per WHO guidelines under every first aid box to collect and proper disposal of biomedical waste. Work instruction is to be displayed on every fire extinguisher stand about how to use fire extinguishers and types of fire extinguishers. Toilets needs proper hygiene condition of toilets are not good, needs improvement, wash basin and soap with clean Action Plan Responsibility Target Time

cloth reqd. near toilet. Wash basin is also required at the enterance of plant. Every worker has to be instructed to wash their hand properly with soap and water and then enter in to the plant. Changing room required for changing the cloths. Sleepers also required in change room. Workers has to be instructed for wearing the sleepers in the plant. Emergency telephones nos. is to be displayed on main gate of each unit as follows:1. 100 (Control Room Police) 2. 101 (Control Room- Fire Station) 3. 102 (Ambulance) 4. Nearest Police Station 5. Nearest Hospital 6. Nearest Fire Station 7. Head of the Unit PPEs (personnel protective equipment) e.g. masks, gloves has to be provided to worker working in the plant. Every area has to be properly identified with name plate. Sections has to be identified properly.e.g. store section, main gate production area etc. walls and floors in the plant should be properly cleaned. Tiles and flooring in the plant required. No ventilation available in some areas, needs proper ventilation e.g. exhaust fans ensuring birds are not entering in the plant. Windows and doors in the plant has to be covered with transparent glasses to prevent any insects inside the plant. Walk way is not identified in the plant anywhere, need to identify the walk way area and everybody should be aware not to keep any material on walk way. All types of waste is collected properly and dump at identified areas. Fumigation is required every year to prevent insects in side the plant. Proper stock system required. Lot no. can be used. Laboratory is required. Set up of laboratory is required in

minimum 10 X 12 feet area Laboratory room has to be clean and hygiene and tiles on walls and floor is required with a platform of at least 2 ft width and 38 inches height. All laboratory instruments has to be calibrated every year. External lab testing is required for pesticides residues, aflotoxins in finish products once in a year. Hand swabs, air count test has to be done once in a year. Medical check up of all employees required once in a year. Air curtain is also required at main gate in the plant. E.g. pvc strip curtain can be installed. Packing material if directly in contact with product has to be required food grade packing material. Personnel hygiene policy required. Has to be made and to be implemented. All tube lights inside the plant should be protected and covered. Legal requirements has to complied following.
