FOOT STEP POWER GENERATION

ABSTRACT
In this project we are generating electrical power as non-conventional method by simply walking or running on the foot step. Non-conventional energy system is very e s s e n t i a l a t t h i s t i m e t o o u r n a t i o n . Non-conventional energy using foot step is converting mechanical energy into the electrical energy. This project using simple drive mechanism such as rack and pinion assemble and chain drive mechanism. For this project the conversion of the force energy in to electrical energy. The control mechanism carries the rack & pinion, D.C generator, battery and inverter control. We have discussed the various applications and further extension also. The D.C generator used in this project is Permanente Magnet D.C generator. The Generator is coupled to the fly wheel Shaft with the help of Spur Gear Mechanism. The Output of the generator is 12 Volts. This 12 Volt is stored in a 7 Amp-Hour Battery. The battery type is Lead-Acid battery. The battery is connected to the inverter which is used to convert the D.C 12 Volt to the 230 Volt A.C. By increasing the capacity of battery and inverter circuit, the power rating is increased.

INTRODUCTION
The use of human-power in more efficient manner for generation of electricity has been possible due to modern technology. Feet power is an excellent source of energy, 95% of the exertion put into feet power is converted into energy. In a foot-powered device it allows individuals to pump out power at a 40-watt clip to charge its own internal battery. Then this battery can be used for powering AC and DC devices, car batteries etc. a notable approach is to have everyone have magnets in their shoes and all the paving slabs had inter-connected coils cast inside. Electricity can be generated whose amount will depend on the number of people travelling. A "Crowd Farm" has been setup by MIT students for producing electricity from the energy of pounding feet in crowded places. A populous country like India can look forward to it. Railway stations, bus stands, airports, temples or rock concerts all can potentially produce electricity.

WORKING

In this system, mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy. The control mechanism carries a piezo electric sensor. A.C ripples neutralizer, unidirectional current controller and 12V 1.3A lead acid DC rechargeable battery and an inverter is used to drive AC or DC loads. Battery is connected to the inverter. This inverter is used to convert 12V DC to 230V AC. This 230V is used to activate loads. It uses 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
