Business Case Template Introduction


ABC Corporation has decided to initiate a restructuring process to consolidate its operations and gain the efficiencies. We want to implement BPR concept in the organization in a stage wise manner. Firstly we want to focus on HR which is major revenue earner and has some pain points. Another important aspect was to adopt SOX Compliance for the organization.

Business Issue/Opportunity
First it will solve the pain points of HR which is one of the professional services businesses. Also it will solve the problem which customers are facing about the non availability of the consultants on the promised dates and which will benefit the our business

Scope of the Initiative


This will include mainly HR business which will cover up HR processes, centrally supported business process; this also include other department like finance and operation to strengthen the processes as HR is one of the main business however this wont cover the other businesses of the company and that will be covered letter if this went successfully.

Ownership of the Initiative


Global HR Head is the owner of this initiative and the CIO and Head of professional services Business are people who came first with proposal to initiate the ERP system. Cross functional team comprising Business analysts from IT with ERP system capability and HR specialists familiar with the critical business processes tried to understand the current state of the processes and the problems associated with the critical business processes of HR and evaluated risk and benefits associated with this initiative.

Steering Committee details


Steering committee will comprise CIO which look for the financial feasibility of this project and will allocate the necessary resources required. Head of professional services Business :- He will look for the practicability of the project and will give the inputs regarding the requirement of end users. Business analysts from IT with ERP system capability: - He will look into the technical aspects of the project and will act as a intermediary between other members and the firm who will implement the ERP system HR specialists: - They will assist the head of professional service business.

Frequency of the review of Business case and Participants


Steering committee will meet thrice a month and look the current status of the project, it will also look for the impact of the project on the current business. This meeting will be headed by Head of professional services Business.
