Ans. Introduction Of Hr : Human resourse management may be defined as a set of policies ,practices And programmed designed to maximise both personal and organisation goals. Defination: Acc to Flippo:Human resourse Management is the planning,organising,directing and controling of the Procrument,Development,Compensation,integration,maintenance and reproduction of human resources to the end that indivisual,organisational and social objectives are accomplished Functions Of Hrm : We have defined hrm above.The defination and defines that mangement of hrm consists of several inter related functions.These Functions are common to all organisations through every organisations may have its own hrm .These function Of Hrm may Broadly Classified into two Categories . 1)Managerial Functions: 2)Operative Functions : 1)Managerial Functions : Managing People is the essence of being a manager.Like otheres Managers a Human resourse Mnager Performs the functions of Planning ,Organising,Directing and Controling. a. Planning : Plannoing is the Process of deciding the goals and formulating policies And Programmes to achieve the Goals.Planning Involves Forcasting And research. b.Organising : It is the process of allocating tasks among the memebers of the group.Establishing authority responsibilty relationship among th e demand integrated their activities towads the Common Objectives. C. Directing : It is the process of motivating,activating,leading and supervising people.directing includes all those activities by which a manager influences the actions of subordinates. d. Controlling: It implies checking,verifying and regulating to ensure that everything occurs in conformity with the plans adopted and the instructions issued.Such monitoring helps to minimise the gap between desired results and actual perfomance. 2)Operative Functions: The Operative or Service functions of human resourse management and the tasks which are entrusted to the personnel department..These functions are concerned with Specific activities of procuring,developing,Compensating and Maintaining an Efficient Work Force.

a.Procrument Function : It is Concerned with Securing And Employing The right kind And Proper Number of People required to accomplishthe organisational actives..it consists of following Activities 1)Job Analysis 2)Human Resourse Planing 3)Recruitment 4)Selection 5)Placement 6)Induction b)Development: It is the process of improving the knowledge ,Skills,apptitude and Values of employees so that they can perform the present and future jobs more effectively. This Functions comprises the following activities. 1)Perfomance and Potencial Appraisal. 2)Training 3)Executive Development 4)Careeer Planning And development c) Compensation Function : It Refers to Providing Eqitable and fair remuneration to employees For their Contribution To the attainment Of Organisational Objectives.It Consists Of Following activities. 1)Job Evaluation 2)Wages And salary 3)Bonus d)Integration function : It Involves Motivating Employees through Various Financial and Non Financial incentives,Providing Job satisfaction,Handling Employees grievences through Formal Grievences etc. e) Maintenance Function : It Is concerned With Protecting And Promoting the Physical and mental Health Of Employees.
