India is incredible, huge, diverse. The population of India is 10 times more than the population of Hungary.

For me it was a big challenge to come to India. Some things are the same how I imagined and a lot if things are different. It is hard to express in words how I feel here. Sometimes lonely, sometimes very well. The culture of India is completely different from my culture, so sometimes it is hard to understand whats happening. Hindi is the national language but English is commonly used for official purposes and is offered as subject in most schools. As against 2820 languages in the entire world, as many as 325 languages are spoken in India alone. It is said that dialect changes every 8-10 kilometer. So sometimes it is hard to speak to the native people.

The second most surprising thing is the weather. I have never experienced such a hot weather before in my life. India offers a choice of weather. When it is hot and sunny on the plains it can be pleasant and cool on the mountains. It may be actually possible to experience snowfall, rain, and hot desert winds all at the same time of the year depending on where you are traveling in India. India is one country many people long to see, and having seen it once, wish to return again and again. India is, indeed, incredible. Within the continent-of-a-country are the world's highest mountains, the Himalayas. Here is the great Indian desert, the Thar; deep jungle where the tiger roam and rhinos run wild; sylvan beaches, among the longest in the world; one of the most ancient settlements - the Indus Valley Civilisation - with a recorded past of five thousand years; the cradle of some of the oldest religions on the globe - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism. So sometimes I feel lost among the cultural diversity. It was the time of my life to experience the worlds oldest culture, which is the most richest and diverse. Inspite of the problems that I had to face in the beginning, I still feel that this internship was great!

City Experience
The city is friendly and safe. My favorite place is the garden and the zoo. I like the green ares int he middle of the city. This city was a good inrotduction to India, the city is not that hectic, there is no crowd, so I really enjoyed to enter the city. My favourites are the bulidings, they are so different from the bulidings in Hungary. I liked to ride a bike, or travel by Rikshaw and just look aout and watch the city, the people, the bulidings. I will keep a good memory about the city. Whenever I will remember Baroda I will think about the nice bulidings and the traffic. At the first time for me was a completely mess, but one week later my arrival, I could find some rules on the roads. Horning all the time. Now I can understand In Hungary you are not allowed to horn in the city, just in emergency case. This was one of the most surprising thing in India, that ont he roads everybody is horning

I come from a tiny little country from Middle East Europe, from Hungary. I live int he capital, in Budapest, and next year I will finish my master course at university. Now I am studying at Corvinus University Budapest, faculty of social sciences. My main course is economical and organizational sociology, and this year I finished my first master year at the university in mention. I grew up in a small village with 4500 inhabitants, and I like animals and nature as well. During my high school years I had the chance to travel a lot, mostly in middle east Europe, the neighbouring countries to Hungary. My biggest wish to travel to India since I was a child, and visit as much as I can. When I started to collect information about India I found the culture, and the language fascinating, and amazing.

It is exciting to get in touch with other young people from a foreign country and make new friendships with them. In my opinion learning is very important, but summer has a little bit different meaning for me, besides learning, it is the time of having fun. Do my volunteer job, make some trips, have fun and visit the amazing world of India with a funny, young company.

Project Wildlife Canine Group Association Vadodara

The internship started on the 17th June. Introduction to the NGO. We went to the riverside in Baroda to see the area of the crocodiles. Gathering information about the lifestyle of the wildlife in Baroda, and in Gudjarat. General training about the wildlife, get familiar with the working environment. Visit different villages to research and presentation under project Wildlife with several team members. 21st-22nd June: we made a trip to a village, called Vaso. We visited some crocodile nests, we found a lot of crocodile eggs, and babys. We measured, counted the babys, examined their health, and took them to the river, lake. 23rd June: we visited the zoo, checked the situation of the animals. 25th-27th June: we made a trip to Jumboghoda to the forest. Saved a snake and let him free in the forest. In the evening, and night we saw Hienas in the forest, counted them. The second evening we went to see leopards in the forest, but a big storm came, and we had to go to a shelter and wait until morning. 28th June- 9th July: visiting the riverside in Baroda. Rescue snakes int he city and let them free int he forest, visit the zoo-check the animals, rescue buffalos in the riverside 7th July: visit the veterinary hospital of Baroda-there are usually domestic animals, injured goats, cats, dogs, cows etc. 8-9th July: trip to village, veterinary hospital

The indian wildlife is completely different from Hungarian wildlife. For me was very exciting to see the forests in India, to gather information about the dangerous and very diverse species of raptiles, crocodiles, birds, hienes, leopards. This was the first time in my life when I could hold a babycrocodile in my hands. It was really amazing, I am sure I will remember this occasion for ever. I learnt a lot about nature, culture, animals, and about everything that surrounds me. My knowledge about the worls and nature is growing all the time, and this project gave me the biggest part of my knowledge. I saw different type of snakes. I learned a lot about them, how to catch, which snake is venomous and poisonous, which snake is not. In monsoon time there are a lot of snake calls, and other emergency calls, usually at late night, because the animals are active at night. If there is an emergency call for an injured animal, the NGO has to call the Forest Department ( they also have to give reports to the Forest Department about their work) , and after that they go to rescue, and take the injured animal to the hospital, where the Vets cure them. The NGO has a very good relationship with the Vet sin Baroda, they work together as a group. I really like this kind of cooperation. I really appriciate the Canine Group Assosiation Vadodaras work.

SWOT
Strengh: the topic of the project is really very exciting. The Indian wildlife is very rich, diverse. This topic is very interesting for those people who come from far far away places of the world. The topics, and animals that the indian wildlife has is amazing, You can not find it in every corner of the world. This kind of natural diversity is the most important strengh of the project. Here is Baroda is the only one place in India hat has crocodiles int he city and nearby the city. This is a very good place to visit the crocodiles, to learn more about these type o animals, everything is given here for this crocodile project. Weakness: the project is connected to monsun period. Before monsun there is hardly something that an EP can do as a volunteer. In a nutshell the project belongs to some seasons, an EP cannot join anytime. The NGO should be take care that the Trainee should come in this period.

Opportunities: to save the environment and animals is one of th ebest things int he world. This kind of work has a lot of opportunities, it is everybodies due to take care of nature. The presentations that are given at schools, to make awareness to people could help a lot bythis work.

Threats: people do not care about the nature, wildlife. It is hard to fight against humanity to save the animals. If the human behavior do not change in the early future, we will facing huge environmental problems.
