We are excited to welcome you to ARKs 2011-2012 product catalog. For the past ten years, ARK has been committed to developing quality products for individuals with special needs. In 2000, our journey began with the need for a durable oral motor tool made out of medical grade materials. We developed the Probe, ProPreefer, and ProMini in response to that need, and since then we have significantly expanded our product line to include such items as ARKs Grabber, DnZ-Vibe, Sip-Tip, and much more. One of our latest creations is the Y-Chew (see page 19), which comes in four different colors and is a great companion to the Grabber. Also available now is Tips & Techniques for the Grabber Family (page 18), the next book in our how-to series with detailed instructions and advice on how to use our various Grabbers. In other news, a Dog Tip (page 9) has recently been added to our playful collection of Cat-n-Mouse Tips. We are also very excited to offer a brand new functionality on our website: the ability to build your own custom travel kits. Coming soon is a Swivel Spoon that can be adjusted to 45 and 90 degrees for individuals with limited dexterity. A second installment of Tips & Techniques for the Z-Vibe is on its way as well! About Us
Debra C. Lowsky, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist currently in private practice based in Columbia and Lugoff, South Carolina. In her 30 years of experience, she has provided therapeutic services in public and private schools, daycare centers, preschool programs, home health, clinics, and long-term care facilities. She received her BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the College of New Jersey and her MS in Speech Pathology from Rutgers University. While treating infants and toddlers with oral motor delays, she became frustrated with the lack of tools for use in the field of oral sensorymotor intervention. Debras husband John Lowsky, Jr. therefore decided to develop quality products in order to fill this specialized need. As a mechanical engineer with a BS ME from Rutgers University, John began designing prototypes based on input from his wife and other speech pathologists and occupational therapists. Prototypes were eventually refined into products, and together John and Debra formed ARK Therapeutic Services, Inc., a company that designs, manufactures, and distributes speech therapy tools and other healthcare products. Today, ARK continues to expand in order to better serve its customers needs.

DnZ-VIBE
ARKs DnZ-Vibe is a unique vibratory tool with extraordinary versatility. With its compact size and over 26 interchangeable tips, the possibilities are endless! Its various tips of different shapes, sizes, and materials provide gentle vibrations to stimulate the gums, palate, lips, cheeks, and tongue. Two tips can be used simultaneously by simply replacing the Switch Tip with another tip. Try using the Fine Tip to isolate a specific spot in the oral cavity or one of our Sylvie Spoon Tips during feeding therapy to encourage the acceptance of textured foods. While the DnZ-Vibe is mainly used for oral motor stimulation and sensory input, it can also be used outside the mouth on the cheeks, lips, neck, and arms. Get the best of both worlds with ARKs DnZ-Vibe . Its dynamic design allows the therapist to use it either as the Z-Vibe or as the Double Z-Vibe simply by unscrewing the Switch Tip and screwing in another tip. One end is sealed off from the internal components so that no saliva, water, or moisture can enter from that end. The DnZ-Vibe is sold with one Probe Tip and one Switch Tip, other tips sold separately. The handle (excluding the tip) measures about 4.67 inches in length and just under 1/2 an inch in diameter. ARKs Thermal Tip is a therapeutic tool specifically designed to stimulate the posterior faucial pillars during swallowing therapy. It also provides additional sensory input through vibration and cold retention. Now you can have thermal stim and vibration together! The Mini Thermal Tip, however, was requested by therapists who wanted to use thermal stim on small children, and so we shortened the stem so that the tip measures only 3 inches in length.
