Montie Design is hosting a student design contest for Winter 2012. Students who participate are tasked with the mission of designing a new product for the Montie Gear line of outdoor, camping, shooting, hunting, and archery products. Montie Gear products have the byline of Heirloom Quality Tested Troublesome Gap Tough. These products share the traits of being extremely high quality, high performance, long life and very portable. The existing products are mostly fabricated from flat aluminum sheets with a water jet process and

then powder coated. Many of the Montie Gear products are 100% American Made. We would like to explore the use of additional materials in this contest, including textiles. Especially materials that we can easily and sustainably use in the manufacturing process at our upcoming Spring Creek, NC location. Successful products can then translate into jobs for the local population of Spring Creek.
