Two years ago Halloween night, I had a mild heart attack and ever since then I have angina attacks maybe once every 3 months or so. When those happen it feels exactly as a heart attack does, very, very excruciating pain to endure for at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Usually when he is home and not on the road, he can get me through the pain, but this morning at 8 AM he wasnt here and I had the beginning of an attack wake me up. Last week end, I went up the mountain for a camping trip with my family! While setting up and gathering firewood, my 13 year old son tripped and fell. He didnt move but cried out in pain. I looked down and did not see anything visibly broken, but then looked at his hand. A tent stake had impaled his hand. We cleaned it up with some sterile water and got him to the doctor for damage assessment and stitches. He got pain meds before the stitches and took one more dose at 1 am, that the Dr. had given him. The next morning I was planning to get his prescription for heavy duty pain meds. I had heard that Inspirin had helped others with discomfort and relaxation, so I figured I would give my son some Inspirin until we could get to the pharmacy. I have recently discovered that when I take Inspirin, my body is dealing with the stress of continuous hip pain in a whole new way. I say that Inspirin has something to do with the reduction of pain because I know what I have been doing to relieve the aches and pain I have had for the past couple of years. I know that after the addition of Inspirin the pain subsides entirely for 24 to 48 hours. I have been teaching and using Yoga for 3 decades so I continue to stretch to reduce the pain. I have been a massage therapist for 25+ years so I am familiar with anatomy. I have no explanation for the effects that I am feeling from taking Inspirin, but I know that this effect is real and consistent.
