Hi The flow diagram of a power plant Basically power plant consists of namely 7 systems or cycles 1.

cooling water system 2.condensate water system 3.feed water system 4.lub oil system 5.gland sealing system 6.steam cycle 7.governer system Turbine may be divided into three parts : HPT,IPT,LPT.IPT is generally double flow type,i.e, steam expands in two direction or it do works in two direction.stages are of two types impulse or reactive. This steam condenses in the condenser and is collected in the hot well. Now ,we maintain a pressure below atmospheric pressure in the condensor with the help of Steam jet air ejector..why to maintain this pressure? (Main reason)See , generally steam condenses at 100 deg c \\this occurs at atmospheric pressure(1` bar). But this saturation temperature decreases well below 100 deg c when steam is expanded pressure below atmospheric preesure. So work done is less and efficiency of the power system as a whole increases. Reason 1.to maintain the flow of steam in the turbine.everything flows from a region of high pressure to low pressure.main steam inlet in turbine is 85-90 kg/cm2.to have it flow continuous we need a vaccum somewhere after IPT.so after IPT comes condenser and then hot well.if vaccum is not maintained in hot well,a back pressure will develop and steam instead of condensing in the condenser will flow back to turbine and will provide an extra torque or jerk on the rotor blades of the turbine. Reason 2 .steam condenses to water .exhaust steam temp. in condenser is around 90 deg c.water collected in hot well has temp around 48 deg c .so , soluble gases remain dissolve in water but we need to remove non soluble gases.this is done by sjae. Now after we have condensed steam in the hot well so the water now is termed as condensed water. Remember,LPH,HPH,GSC,SJAE are all heat exchangers.they just function to increase the temperature of water which is to be fed into the boiler,so that less work is done by the boiler in raising the temp. to 530 deg c required in the turbine. So condensed water after hot well is pumped with the help of CEP(condensate extraction pump).this flows into SJAE ,then into GSC.now it is feed into Low preesure heaters .there may be 2 or 3 lph.after LPH it goes to deaerator.in dearator ,mechanical dearation occurs(i.e.,removal of soluble gases like o2,co2; it works on henrys law and daltons law-solublity decreases with increase in temperature and in infintisimal/minimum at its boiling point), after dearator condensate water is feed into boiler feed pums. Now onwards ,condensate water is called feed water. This feed water is feed into HPH(high pressure heaters, may be more than

1).after hph feed water is fed into economizer ,then feed water goes to boiler drum where it is converted into superheated steam ,and after passing through super heaters it is ready to be fed into the turbine.. Steam for heaters and dearator is taken from turbine through extractions from different parts of the turbine.
