NOTES FROM ALEX MARSHALL SPECIAL MEETING PERTH APRIL 1975 Hymn 174. John 1.

1 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life. In the beginning was the word, and the word was God." This is a most wonderful thing to me to realise that God ever spoke to me. When young I was brought up in a religious family our mother taught us and told us about God, spoke of God speaking in the beginning "Let there be the earth, and the earth was, let there be the heavens, and the heavens were, the light, the birds, fish, and later He created man." In childhood I believed that God created all, that God just had to say and the thing was made. He made something out of nothing. Then later I began to realise that God wanted to make a re-creation, that I was only a human being, and just as the earth was without form and darkness was on the face of the deep, so was this with me, this was God speaking to me, the word was God. Faith comes by the word of God the heart must continue to be tender for Him to speak. God has a heart full of love and compassion for mankind, there are 4,000 million people in the world and most have not heard Gods word. Six years ago I was moved to write a little verse to contain my testimony, and in it I found the theme that is contained in Isaiah 9.6 "His name shall be called Wonderful, the mighty God, the Prince of Peace." It is a wonderful thing to have heard the Saviour's voice, we are the true Israel, as it says that he is not a Jew that is one outwardly, but one that is a Jew inwardly, that has the spirit and heart of Abraham. Many Jews are outside of the true Israel they have never known our experience of hearing the voice of God. The word was God, this word started a work in us. It is wonderful that I have heard the Saviour's voice, it is not what we have thought up but it is God speaking to us. Our testimony today must have the word "wonderful" in it, must have a thankfulness to God. Good to repeat this testimony to God in secret, to say to our Father that we love Him, tell Him how much we love Him, the simple words from our hearts that we love Him with all our soul, strength and mind, and we are happy when He knows we mean it. This is the secret of true fellowship, God speaking to me and me speaking to God. John 4 "Beloved, 'believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world." This was a warning of John, and we read in the first meeting that God had upon the earth with Adam and Eve. He gave the teaching with a warning. It is true that God has made man upright, with no leanings to disobedience, we are to hate iniquity, to hate any disobedience. There is a possibility for us to have a leaning, God could see that Eve had a tendency to lean. If God speaks to us, He speaks in tenderness, in love, He is teaching us because God can see the future. Ye cannot see a minute in advance. Today we can listen to the personal teaching and warning of God. God spoke to His human creatures and sin entered in after that, that brought eternal death. Eternal life comes via obedience, and eternal death comes via disobedience. I have been interested in following up the life of John, he was not one to seek for titles or place, but he was just John, a fisherman who became a fisher of men John heard God's voice, and he could say now to the children "We show you eternal life that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you" What John had looked into and what he had heard, he did not change anything. He was now 60 to 70 years in Gods service, he was 90 when he wrote these things, he was an old man. These were things he had looked into. In the religious world there is church history, and it is very doubtful in certain religions. So when I was young I was certain that the religion of my father was the best, it did not claim it was the only way or that it was right, but I was told it was the best, and that alone makes it wrong. I was satisfied for a time and then when I began to look into the Bible I felt that I would like to find the true ministry like Paul, and I had the feeling that this did not exist in the world today, in the twenties, the true ministry had disappeared from the world. I allowed Satan to deceive me, as an angel of light. Satan deceives people in the world today, he deceived me. There was a time when a young man, Alex Campbell, went through religious instruction; he wanted to get back to the example of Jesus. George Campbell started before, he trained Alex Campbell to be a disciple of Jesus, they were called Campbellites, and that man after a long active life, produced 1,000 preachers and had a great congregation, and on his death bed he confessed "I have failed in my lifes work; all I have produced is another sect." In 1917, a Mrs Cooch, as an old woman came across
Page 1

two sisters in a mission. She said this is what my grandfather wanted to do, and failed." He said "I have failed in my lifes work." Who made him fail? It was Satan, an angel of light. If we allow our own intelligence to lead us, we will be lead by Satan. I am very glad that God saved me to follow the example of Jesus. It came about when a man and wife got an invitation from me to come to a revival meeting, and they began to pray for me, finally they invited me to their home for a meal, they were sanctifying God in their heart, and gave their testimony in meekness and fear. This was a man and his wife not in the ministry, but they had a living testimony to give to me Faith cometh by hearing in the ministry, but they had a living testimony to give to me. Faith cometh by hearing. They answered my question so In Johns day there -were already many false prophets risen up, this was the first century, there have been nearly twenty centuries since then There are many people talking about doubts and confusion in the religious world. We are glad that we have a conviction via the Holy Spirit that moves us to follow him. A -woman told us of her old mother not being satisfied in the religious world, her husband wrote books to prove there -was no God" The old lady was praying to God to send to them preachers like in the beginning. One day two strange men from another land led to her salvation. It is not enough to believe, but we need to follow. This is something that becomes more and more precious to me, this eternal life from the beginning, made up by faith first, and a cry from our own hearts that it is wonderful, we have worship and adoration. Your testimony can be very valuable told in the meekness and fear of God. The fear of God is clean. After going to this couple who gave me their testimony, I had to face a large religious gathering who had gathered at my invitation and told them that I had met two people who were born again by the New Testament ministry, the ministry that has never changed, and that is forever. That man and woman led me to hear two servants of God, eight days later, and I was aware that this is God speaking to me. I was not free to go out to preach the gospel, I had a semi-invalid father to care for. I could see the awful need all around me, thinking about the millions in Africa, in China, and I did not want them to be missing out on this great salvation. Satan wouldn't mind that. There was a need laid on my heart, a conviction that the Holy Spirit brought to me, that all my life before this had been consumed upon the wrong altar, consumed by the fire of flesh, I was a slave to Satan, and all my flesh resisted God. I had to realise that all flesh is at enmity with God, this was a conviction of the Holy Spirit. I had to cry to God for Him to forgive me then He gave me power to be His child. Then I was very troubled, my mother was dead and I looked upon her as a wonderful Christian, and I felt that my mother never heard this, and she was not saved. I later asked the Workers, I was told in their great tenderness "Do you have complete confidence in God?" I said "Yes". And they said well, can't you leave your mother in God's hand." They also said "Are you going to be true to what God has spoken to you?" I said "Yes." I wanted to do the whole thing. This was a personal conviction, that I was not influenced by anyone else, but a conviction between me and God alone. This is life eternal, that they might believe in the only true God. It is not a matter what our doubts are, what we think of anyone else, but do we believe in the God of Heaven? The sister Worker that spoke the Gospel to us would always pray in every meeting that the Holy Spirit would brood over the meeting, that we would not just have a head knowledge of the Truth and not have a personal life with Him. Jesus was a homeless preacher a carpenter, there were no titles taken, Jesus taught this when the rich young ruler came to Him and called Him Good Master. He rebuked him, and said there was only one good, He did not accept any title or praise or reverence, this is the part of worship that belongs to God. Jesus taught that there was no man on earth that was to be called father, or to have any title like rabbi or reverend. This was a great revelation to me because I had been deceived for years by people doing the opposite to what Jesus did and taught. The law in Heaven that is a statute, all glory to the lamb. God resists the proud. If we are seeking a little recognition, seeking a title, any recognition that other people think that I'm all right, we will pay an awful price for that. Good to practice humility, and not to shelter under someone else's name, or seek to be justified by someone else's name. Thirty years ago there were a Godly young couple and we stayed in their home. The Mormons brought some literature to them and I saw it on the sewing machine. I asked them about it and their answer was that the children brought it in, and they may be a help to those people. That mother and father are now Mormons, and their children are still going on faithfully. They were blaming the children, but they were reading the
Page 2

literature, they were playing with Satan. They could not measure the great danger there. They were being justified by the children, by blaming them. When I first professed there was one person who came to tell me some bad things about others in the church, including those who first gave me their testimony, and that man is not in the way today. We should never destroy in any way the testimony of another. When I was a shepherd in the mountains of New Zealand in the winter the snow would cover the foot hills of the mountains, and the sheep would gather and group together in the hollows and the snow would cover them all over. We would have to go out and find those sheep and bring them out. We would look for a hole in the snow; it would be a breathing hole, made by the sheeps breath. Sometimes the sheep would be snowed under for quite a time, under those conditions the sheep would begin to eat another sheeps wool. This wool would block in their intestines and kill the sheep that ate the wool. We could be snowed under with work on the farm or our business or our family and under these conditions begin to justify ourselves by pulling another's testimony to pieces, to tell the wrongs of others. We are not on any playground. At the end of John's writing, he had one phrase, "Little children, keep yourselves from idols." This is good teaching because John did not explain it, this makes us think, to learn what he was speaking about. An idol is anything that takes God's place. Worship is made up of two words: worth, and ship. Worship means anything we put worth on. This was a very real experience to me when I was putting worth on the wrong things and the Lord spoke to me through a Psalm of David. Psalm 27.8 When thou saidst, seek ye my face, my heart said unto thee, Thy face Lord will I seek." In the 16th Psalm David had said in thy presence is fullness of joy, at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore." This was David talking to God, and telling him what it meant to be in His presence. David was busy when God said to him to seek his face. When God gave John a letter to write to all the seven churches, in the first letter God's children had not entertained any false ways, not had any false ministry, they had patience in their suffering but they had lost their first love their heart was not right, and in the second year in the way I couldn't say in thy presence is fullness of joy because my roots had got wrong, they were feeding somewhere else. One morning I read one hundred times over Seek ye my face. These words were imprinted on my mind. I had trouble in my heart, I did not have the love peace and joy, I could not explain it. I discovered one day that I was not altogether dead, but those words came to me Seek ye my face" and I said when? It was when I left my work immediately. After being stubborn for so long I went to seek God's face. I had invited a number of people to the gospel meeting, and if they asked me Have you the joy I would have to say no, I did not have a living testimony, there were other things filling my time. I had a great orchard and garden, and there was no harm in that but it took up time that God wanted to speak to me. I put up a great searchlight onto the garden, and I would work every night till 11 oclock, it was a time that God wanted to speak to me. We need a real living testimony if we are going to help others, and I came back to the place where I said to God Ill love you with all my heart, my soul, strength and mind, and my neighbour as myself. God was not getting the time to teach me and to have fellowship with me. I began to feel maybe I have just got another false religion. I was stubbornly going on in my own way; stubbornness is as the sin of idolatry. John said Litt1e children, keep yourselves from idols." An idol is just something we are putting worth onto. Worth on what was unnecessary, taking up God's place. This is to do with the human side of life, which is only scaffolding for the building. The natural side of life is just scaffolding, we need just enough to build the building for eternity. There are 4,000 million people in the world that have nothing but scaffolding, no building for eternity. We need just enough scaffolding to do God's will; the trouble is that most have far too little building and more than enough of the scaffolding. Paul writes that they who are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God. We need to be sensitive to cut off when we have just enough. That night showed me what I was neglecting, I was being stubborn. God had no time while I was out working in the garden. When I asked people to meetings after that, they would ask questions about the way, and I was happy to give them a living testimony, fresh from the face of God, the day before had they asked me I would have to say no. My soul was renewed, my soul was in a bad way, not able to give a living testimony, a dead and a living testimony, there is a big difference. Good for us to hear again today that which is from the beginning. If I had not taken notice at that time I don't believe that I would be in the ministry today.

Hymn 225. This is a wonderful privilege to be amongst you today, but there is a responsibility bound up with our privilege. There is not a greater privilege than being in God1s family, and also there is no greater responsibility. In the world responsibility is given to people who are worthy, diligent people, wholehearted and zealous, they love what they are doing, and they are worthy of responsibility because they are constant People fit in with the law of responsibility, they carry out what they are saying and what is expected of them. People are paid according to the degree of their responsibility. Sometimes we see injustice with man because people are not paid what they are worth. With God there is no injustice, I can't turn that any way, because we are all going to reap what we sow. If we think fleshly thoughts we are going to reap corruption, if we sow to the spirit we are going to reap life everlasting. If we are here today and don't know God we are not his children. If we know God we go to Him each morning and tell Him that He is our God, and that we can do nothing without Him, our utter dependence on Him, without thee, Father, I am useless and hopeless. Tell Him that without Him you would only make a mess of things, saying to Him that I know in whom I have believed, and that I love Him with all my heart, mind and soul, and He believes us, and He gives us the assurance that He believes us by the spirit that He gives us. Yea though He slay me, I will trust." Good if we could sing those words and mean it. When I listened to the gospel through two of God's handmaidens, those words though He slay me I will trust were very real to me. After the Holy Spirit brought me to total repentance, when I realised that all flesh is at enmity with God) that my flesh was so proud and that it resisted God so much, I felt God could never forgive me. It was a comfort to learn that all flesh is at enmity with God, and in the last night of my resistance before I yielded myself to Him, I realised that I was a complete sinner, and God was listening to my cry, He had brought me to this place, had striven with me, had troubled me, His hand was heavy upon me. There was a time when David got out of His place, and he needed to repent again, and he said that God's hand was heavy upon him, and his soul was as a summer drought. It is a comfort to think of David, one of God1s best, confess his sin and then manifest and leave on record the true story of the almost unbelievable mercy of God. We are God's tender lambs and chosen sheep. All the forces of evil are against us, Satan is successful in having victory with the human race, he is a confident enemy who feels that he is going to win yet. God's lambs and sheep have something to face. Good when every morning Gods lambs and sheep come to Him poor in spirit, realising that we can do nothing, and we say to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit "I have tried too much on my own and failed." David when he failed had no help of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I honour David as one of God's best, yet much on my own and failed." David when he failed had no help of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I honour David as one of Gods best, yet he failed miserably, and when I realise that he failed, I had better look out. The last night of my own resistance, those words of Job were very real "Though he slay me, yet will I trust." Job meant those words. Job realised that he was not worthy of any more. He knew God as the great creator, he only knew him as one far, far away. I was the same as this and now can see that God was so patient, so longsuffering, until I came to a complete end of resistance. God wants us to have a real experience with him, rather than a head knowledge. Seeing only the way the servants go out, this is so precious to us and we could have this head knowledge and not be born again of God. There is joy in the kingdom of Heaven over one sinner that repenteth. This wakes us up when we realise that the whole of the kingdom of Heaven is interested in us, they see all that we do, know all that we think. We forget that, we think and are so conscious of human beings looking at us and we are aware of it, and we take care to be careful in front of others. We are not aware of our Heavenly Father, and we do not take care Oh how this human strives within my breast, to keep me back from rest. He wants to put His love and His joy and peace in my heart, where before there was rebellion, uncertainty, doubts and fears. Before God dealt with me I would never have been able to say "I love not the world You cannot love the world and love God. I had never known the first love; I loved previously the world, not the bad things, clean sport and so on, the things of the world, the pride of life. I thought there was no harm in the pride of life, but it is not of the Father. Our Father has something infinitely higher than this to give us, the gift of the Holy Spirit. Two times in John's writings, he says we know we are of God, because he has given us of his spirit. There was no explanation; this is good teaching. In Isaiah it says God's thoughts are infinitely higher than our
Page 4

thoughts. There are two ways we can distinguish between human thinking and Divine thinking, between God's ways and our way. We are able to measure the natural distance, we can measure so many things in the natural, but in the Divine family it is so infinitely higher and immeasurable Good when we do not mix up the two. There is our fleshly nature and there is the pure divine nature. We begin to have the divine nature when the Lord speaks to us, as James puts it Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your soul. This word of God has been planted in you, planting, sowing are all the same thing. This planting or sowing is able to produce a new tree, and produce totally different fruit. And then we have a living testimony to give. I had a talk one time with a man and his wife who had an orchard, their grandmother decided when she was 80 and she died at 90 very happy and faithful. Twenty-four years later I had a visit with this man and wife and the man of the house said to me your religion is impossible to live. So I said to him you know a good deal about grafting in the fruit tree and he said yes for he had an orchard of apples. So I told him that God's sent ones whom He sends with His word, to graft into my soul a little piece of God Himself. In the beginning the word was God. God's servants came who had Christ dwelling in them, and they were able to engraft this word in me, and there is no beginning with God without this experience. When the graft takes, it forms part of the tree. We spoke to this man and said that when you place a graft in a tree you put a certain stock, which is the Northern Spy because it has good growth potential, it is a vigorous grower, just like human nature. It is not affected by blight or disease. So I asked this man "why did you graft onto the tree in the beginning? Why did you not just sell the fruit of the northern spy? He answered that the fruit produced is very small and won't sell, the apples are no good. So then the graft is made and then the sap of the tree is going into the new life. Then around the stem of the tree there are branches of the old northern spy that have to be cut off, so that all the sap can go into the new growth. Those branches went into the flesh, the world, and false religion. These are the visible parts that we had our branches in before we came in touch with the gospel. This northern spy had been fed by the roots, there had been false ideas of God, there had been sap going to feed the pleasures of this world, and sap going to feed the flesh But now those are all cut off, so the sap can go to the new growth. Then the root system also has to be changed. There is the tap root that is gathering food, but also the roots that go out to feed the plant. A circle is cut around the tree and all those roots are cut off. Then those roots weep, and there are new roots formed that are called "milk roots", and they then harden up and are the new feeder roots. Before we came in touch with the gospel we were feeding on the world, flesh and false religion. We need to be circumcised, and cut them off, because it says that only the circumcised can be partakers of the holy things. God sees the roots that are under the ground, but the branches above the ground, others see also. Then after this the tap root is cut, which is called the heart root and the tree is then shifted to its permanent position. All the wild human nature that is at enmity with God is cut off, and the fact we know we have passed from death unto life is this, that we love the brethren. That is a transplant. We are then transplanted into God Himself, and all our roots are in Him. Psalm 1 speaks of the trees that are planted by the rivers of water. Jesus never sinned He never had to be transplanted. Good for us to be willing to confess to God all our sin, and have the branches cut off. The visible things that we can see and others can see that we love, those things need to be cut off, because people can see where our affections are. Good when people can see that we love God with all our strength, mind, soul, and our neighbour as our self. Jesus had no roots in the world, flesh and the devil, no fleshly imaginations, no fleshly pleasure so all our roots must be in God. We are one of Gods trees placed in His orchard; we have been planted by Him. This man then said to me, I have noticed that after we have cut the branches off, that the old Northern Spy still kept sending out more buds, more shoots, and that is so with us too. The flesh will still want its own way, but we just need to cut them off. We do not want to produce more wood, but we want to produce more of what is of God. A brother asked me, how much of the human nature do I need, because we have to live like a human being, and my answer is Just enough. It depends upon each one of us to know what is just enough, knowing when God is pleased with us. God wants to prepare us as His tree, going onto perfection, not just going on, but going on unto the perfection of Christ. We hear of people just hanging, no, that is not it. There was a time when I was still outside of Gods orchard, I was not cut back. He was able to cut off my castles in
Page 5

the air, all my wood; all our projects, what we want to do. Perhaps our Father has something else for us to do that we do not know as yet. Good when we can say those words "Though He slay me, I will trust" each day. This matter of dying daily is far harder than having a bullet through our head. God has to slay all the wood off my tree. After I had been speaking along this line at a meeting, a sister worker who is very spiritual came to me and said "Here am I, I have been whacking away at the branches, and leaving the roots alone." The roots are the things that only God and I can see, they are like our thoughts and where are they going to? One time I went to a man's orchard, it was a pear orchard, and the first thing I saw the trees had long, straight shiny branches. These are called "robbers", they do not produce fruit, it is wood only. I did not want to be a know-all and tell this man about his trees, because he was proud of his success. The next day he took me out again to a big quince tree and he said that he got the stock for the pear trees from that quince. I told him that that was a very vigorous Grower, but it only produced wood. What did you do in New Zealand to remedy the situation, he asked. I told him that this year we would cut half the roots, and then the other half next year. It is possible for us to have long, harmless, shiny branches, our activities are shining so well, all that we are doing looks so good, but we are robbing God, robbing Him of giving us eternal treasure. This is the human side of our life, just scaffolding. Sad to see 4,000 million people with nothing but scaffolding, no building. There is a great weight of pressure on us and on our children, a pressure of this world, and the iniquity in this world. Good when we can squirm when we see the iniquity, and hate it. Jesus hated iniquity 100 per cent. Sad when we are getting used to what is going on in the world, and we say nothing about it. What is iniquity? It is anything; that is not like Jesus. What is needed is meditation to find what iniquity in the world is. Meditation is not mere thinking. We see a parable of the sheep chewing the cud, this represents meditation. When the sheep eats the grass it first goes into the first stomach, then it goes back into the mouth to be chewed, which produces a cream that goes into the second stomach that feeds the tissues and produces wool, lambs and milk. The wool of the sheep is like our testimony. Good when we are strengthened with all might in the inner man because of having Godly meditations. When God slays me, I am ready to live for Him, when there are robbers being built in the tree they are slain down, when I have idols they are slain down, all that I build up is slain down, then His peace will rule in my heart. Good when we can let the peace of God arbitrate in us. When we have the peace of God that passes all understanding ruling in our hearts, it is an evidence that our Heavenly Father is completely satisfied with us, completely satisfied with what we are doing, when this peace is arbitrating for us. Sometimes it is a struggle to get back to having peace in our hearts. We have the world, flesh and devil to face every day. We need to do plenty of meditation and not too much thinking, chewing our cud 50, 60, 70 times to get Gods love into ourselves, it is meditation that does it, not thinking. In Nehemiah's day the people were without the joy of the Lord, and Nehemiah said that the joy of the Lord is your strength. They were weeping. Good when we are feeding on the right food. Every tree has a tap root, it is a continuation of the trunk and suggests going down to the water. In the French the tap root means the pivot, in the German it means the post root, but in the English it means the heart root, it is the centre of our being. I went to some people in Spain who had an orchard and the trees produced perfectly for 7 years, and then all the trees died. They dug down to the root and they found that the tap root had got into oil shale and had poisoned the tree. In Morocco we had some converts that after 9 years did the same, they got into poison. We have a responsibility to where our heart root is going. These two women are outside of our meetings and listening to other preachers, false preachers. They allowed their heart root to get into poison. Galatians 5 speaks of the works of the flesh, horrible fleshly sins, seditions and heresies. Sedition means a double-up standing, a ruling set down by the elders and we contradict that, this is a double-up standing, and those who do that do not inherit the kingdom. Heresies have brought about different sects, seditions where two men are opposing about the scriptures and each will take a group with him. These two women I spoke of were sub scribing to heresy, they stepped out of God's orchard, and have gone out to be of another sect, and not to inherit the kingdom. In the early days in N.Z. a local lay preacher came to visit a man in the hospital, and he looked out of the window and said There is Mt Egmont, there are many ways that lead up to the top." The worker said to him "You have forgotten that there is only one door, only
Page 6

one gate that leads to the narrow way." "It is not possible to have two gates, or three gates. He just walked away .Colossians 2.6 "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him, rooted and built up in Him, in whom ye also are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands. Good when all our roots are in Him, our branches are in Him. No uncircumcised person can partake of the holy things. If we are not circumcised we will never have Christ. If we are not cut right around the roots and branches, no person can partake of Christ. It speaks in the Old Testament that the priests daughter was not to marry a stranger. If we are in the family of God and marry an outsider, we cannot partake of the holy things, the bread and the wine. No uncircumcised person can do that, no priests daughter or son can partake of the holy things. It is not men we have to deal with but it is our Heavenly Bridegroom. He knows we are not cutting off every other love, all the branches if we do that. Circum means round, and cision means cut. How can we say that we love God when we are showing that we love someone else? When do I show that I love something else? David in Psalm 27 said "When thou sayest, seek ye my face." David knew when the Lord called; it was not hard for David and he could say "In thy presence is fullness of joy" that is the Christians experience one who loves the Lord with all His heart. The Lord saw this with David and saved him from all danger. So it is not enough to begin right in the way of God, but it is to continue right and to finish right, and to know the peace of God that passeth understanding. Good when this peace is ruling in our hearts. It is an evidence that our tender Father is satisfied with us. Don't think it is easy, dont take it lightly, it is a war. It is only the overcomers that will sit with him on His throne. All that is not of faith is sin, he that eateth is damned if he eat. If we don't have a firm conviction about a thing, have doubts, don't do it. It is not of God. We sin if we do it. Eating is doing, in the Bible. Iniquity means not equal, not Jesus. Equity means equal. Being poor in spirit is the first beatitude. David was a poor man. When Nathan spoke to him of his sin, wrath and indignation rose up within him. Watch out if ever this rises up in us, this righteous indignation against others. We should show that we had iniquity, the long hair, the short dress, hate it more and more. If we speak about it, that we do not accept it, in front of our children, they will not accept it either. The cloven hoof is parted and is able to give the animal a good balance. David asked the Lord to make his feet as hinds feet. A hind is able to jump over an 8 foot fence and able to get away from the danger. First David had to chew the cud and be in a good condition to do that, to get strength from God to do this. Meditate and chew the cud getting all the strength you can out of each verse that you read. Bathsheba was a careless woman, to tempt David. She knew he would be able to see her. She was a devil sweetie. Adultery is the result of men looking at women. Men in Paris are constantly changing fashions so that men will fall for them, look at them. Don't look at them, it is adultery. No adulterer will be in the kingdom of God. Jesus is coming to rule with a rod of iron as in the days of the Jews of Israel, and there was the death penalty to people who do this. Children not obedient to parents were stoned to death. We have 30, 40, 50 years to prepare here to become a chaste virgin for Christ, he will accept no other bride. He loves us and He chastens us to make us pure. Do not put your light under a bushel. A bushel is just a measure for wheat, which represents human life. Don't hide the light under the human life, no matter how successful it be, because that is all that people will see. The world expects perfect human life from us because they do not know spiritual life. Have the peace of God in your heart. If you lose it} something is wrong in your service. A young Frenchman had a wealthy father, his mother died so the father and son grew up inseparable; they loved each other very much. The father died and the son shot himself. He wrote a letter before he died saying he wanted to be with his father. There was the wall of death separating them, so he shot himself. Let us die daily, to have fellowship with Him. He is living a resurrected life; we need to die to world, flesh and devil to have fellowship with Him. Our love for Him is expressed in whether we die or not. Gideon and Deborah were standard bearers. Most of the people were in bondage to the Amalekites, the world and the flesh. The fleece of wool is like our testimony. The marks on the outside that the world sees come off easily. When the fleece is off the sheep and put on the table, the classer is able to tell what condition the sheep has been in during the year. He can see whether the sheep has been constantly feeding on the right food every day for 365 days. If the sheep has been in perfect health the inside of the fleece is pure white, it has a gleaming bloom. The classer then takes a staple of wool and pulls it and if there is

a break in the wool it means that during the year that sheep has not been feeding for some time. One of the things we need is constancy, the right amount of food by meditating each day. This constant meditation will develop a thickness of spiritual fat, a spiritual armour that the tick will not be able to get through to the blood. We are totally dependent on Jesus and good when for 365 days of the year; we are getting the right food from our shepherd. The inside of the flesh can have marks upon it. An A1 fleece never has any blood marks upon it where the ticks have been. The third grade fleece is brown and dotted with marks, showing that a number of ticks have been feeding on the blood of the sheep, and this reduces the value of the wool. The blood has been sucked out of the sheep and has not gone to produce wool. The works of the flesh in Galatians 5 are like ticks that live on us. When we are feeding constantly, the sheep develop an armour of fat that the ticks cannot get through. Sometimes the wool is tender, you pull the wool and it breaks easily. It shows there is something lacking in the soil. The pasture is not good enough. Sometimes we can be like that, we can have a gentle speech, be a sweetie that everybody thinks we are the best of saints, but we are too tender, the wool lacks strength. Some people are too tender, they are too touchy. You just pull the wool and it breaks. We need to be sensitive, but not touchy. The tip of our thumb, it will feel the finest thing, but the nail of the thumb is covering the touchy part. Good when we can be sensitive to others, when we see others heading for a precipice, be sensitive to evaluate the thing, and tell when people are in danger and warm them. Sometimes the sheep are not feeding, and the shepherd can see the trouble, it is because the sheep have lung worm. The shepherd is able to give them chloroform, and the lambs will cough them up, and they are able to feed again. Sometimes there are things in us that hinder us from feeding and meditating. Good to tell the workers our problem. It is no good chewing over and over the problem and being irritated and so not feeding.
