A. INTRODUCTION Faith is a crucial element of our life as Christians for several reasons; 1. The Bible refers to Christianity The Faith 2. We worship God whom we have never seen and cannot see by eyes yet we are called to have intimate fellowship with Him - How? 3. We live in a generation that has become Godless and scorns at our religion as blind faith, how do we stand and not falter? 4. The word of God teaches 'The just shall live by faith' this verse is key to our Christian faith (Hab2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11 Heb 10:38) B. DEFINITIONS Heb 11:1 (Read through the whole chapter) The assent and unshakable conviction of the mind and understanding, to the truth of what God has revealed. Simple belief of the Holy Scriptures, of the being and perfection of God, and of the existence, character and teachings of Christ, founded on the testimony of the sacred scriptures. This definition is not conclusive but sufficient for the purpose of our study today. C. DISCUSSION Seven Reasons Why You Need to Have Faith. 1. That you may access to Salvation in Christ a. John 1:12 - Believers given right to become children of God b. Eph 2:8 - Saved by grace through faith c. Rom 4:16 - It is of faith that it may be of grace d. Acts 10:43 - whoever believes in Him shall have remission of sins 2. That you may please God a. Heb 11:06 - For without Faith it is impossible to please God b. Dan 01:08 - Daniel laid it in his heart that he would not defile himself (trusted in God) c. Heb 11:04 - Abel offered a more excellent offering (obeyed God out of faith) d. Jud 05 - God destroyed those that were not believing (Unbelief) 3. That you can win the warfare against the enemy - the Devil a. 1 Tim 6:11-12 - Fight the good fight of faith b. Eph 6:16 - Take the shield of faith that you may quench the fiery darts c. 1 Joh 5:4-5 - overcome the world - our faith d. II Cor 10:3-6 - The battle field is in our minds, that's where the war has to be won

4. That you may be able to Stand against the Devil a. Eph 6:13 - Having done all, stand! b. 2 Cor 1:24 - By faith you stand c. Luke 22:31-2 - Christ prayed for Peter's faith d. 1 Pet 5:12 - Stand in Grace thru faith

5. That you may grow Spiritually a. Joh 20:31 - Believing you may have life in His Name b. Rom 15:13 - May the God of Joy fill with joy in believing - that you may abound c. 2Tim 3:16 - Word of God is profitable (if received by faith) d. Jud 12 - building yourself up in faith

6. That have a closer walk with God a. Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your heart thru faith b. Heb11:5 - By faith Enoch (walked with God and ) was translated c. Acts 15:9 - Purified hearts come by faith d. Gal 2:20 - Christ lives in you through faith 7. That you may have access to God's promises a. Heb 6:12 - Thru faith and patience receive the promises b. Jam 1:6-8 - Ask in faith, and you will receive, the unbelieving shall not receive anything c. Mar 11:24 - Therefore I say to you, All things, whatever you ask, praying, believe that you shall receive them, and it will be to you. d. Gal 3:14 That we might receive the Promise of the Spirit through faith

D. CONCLUSION Let us ask the Lord in faith that He may grant us faith and cleanse us, by His blood, of all our unbelief Heb 4:02 - The word of God can be made unprofitable through unbelief Mat 13:58 - He did not do mighty works because of their unbelief [But Rise and Stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of what you saw, and in what I shall appear to you; (Act 26:16)]
