Summary
The GSM coverage theme analysis supports the following themes: poor coverage, over coverage, azimuth garbled, and no serving cell dominance.
Benefits
By analyzing DT data, the Assistant identifies network problems and locates the cells where the coverage problem exists.
Description
The Assistant detects the points whose level values are lower than the preset threshold in the serving cell. These points are problem points. The greater the proportion of the problem points to the test points in the serving cell, the more the possibility that the cell has poor coverage.
If the coverage of a BTS extends the planned area, the coverage overlaps the neighboring cells. If tight frequency reuse is applied, the overlapped coverage may cause adjacent-channel interference. In severe cases, the overlapped coverage may cause co-channel interference.
The Assistant compares the beamwidth with the angle formed by the line between a

INTERNAL
DT point and its serving cell site and the antenna azimuth. If the angle is out of a certain range, the DT point can be considered as a problem point. The Assistant then calculates the proportion of the problem points to all DT points in the serving cell. The greater the proportion is, the more the possibility that the cell has the problem of azimuth garbled.
Improper network planning, improper network deployment, or incorrect engineering parameter configuration may result in garbling signal coverage in some areas.
Enhancement
The following function is incorporated into Assistant V300R003:
Dependencies
GAFD-010020 Engineering Parameter Management
Summary
The WCDMA coverage theme analysis supports the following themes: over coverage and no serving cell dominance.
Benefits
By analyzing DT data, the Assistant identifies network problems and locates the cells where the coverage problem exists.
Description
When over coverage exists in a WCDMA network, the coverage of a NodeB exceeds its planned coverage area and overlaps its neighboring cells. In this case, the noise floor in this coverage area increases and the Ec/Io values of intra-frequency cells decrease. As a result, interference is generated in this area.
Improper network planning, improper network deployment, or incorrect engineering parameter configuration may result in garbling signal coverage in some areas.

Summary
Missing neighboring cell configuration indicates that the cells have neighboring relations with the serving cell but are not actually configured as neighboring cells for the serving cell. In this case, calls cannot be handed over from the serving cell to a neighboring cell. As a result, call drops occur because the signal quality deteriorates with the rapid decrease of signal strength. With the missing neighboring cell analysis, the Assistant can quickly identify missing intra-frequency neighboring cells and missing inter-frequency neighboring cells using the missing neighboring cell algorithm and highlight missing neighboring cells on a map in different colors. In addition, the Assistant can generate missing neighboring cell reports.
Benefits
The Assistant provides suggestions on optimizing neighboring relations based on the data collected by the scanner, a list of configured neighboring cells, and the information about neighboring cells measured in the radio environment. The missing neighboring cell analysis helps in solving handover-related problems caused by missing neighboring cells.
Description
The Assistant analyzes the scanner data and then provides suggestions on neighboring cell configuration. The Assistant provides the following information:
Recommended neighboring cell list of each sector. In the list, missing neighboring cells are highlighted. Neighboring cells of the selected sector on the map. The neighboring cells and missing neighboring cells in the neighboring cell list are highlighted in different colors.
