CASH MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES AND MODELS

Cash management techniques aim at acceleration of cash inflows and declaration of cash outflows. This is done through speedy collection of accounts receivables and by delaying disbursements of accounts payables. In previous chapter we observe that the cash flow cycle is a constant process of generation-consumption-generation of cash. The

18

generation of cash can be increased by speedy collections. Showing disbursements can effectively optimize consumption.

SCOPE OF THE CASH MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

Cash management techniques cover both payables and receivables and have immense impact of the cash flow cycle. There are some steps involves in the cash flow movement which are divided into four phases which is displayed and illustrated.

Phase I The first relates to payables and has four steps, A1 to A4. The activity starts with placing the order for the materials, which are received after 10 days. A1 to A2 credit period of the days has been allowed by the supplier, A2 to A3, after the expiry of collection period, cheque is displayed. Another four days are consumed in the mailing time ,cheque processing time and clearance the bank,A3toA4.

Phase II The phase II in the mean time of phase I, phase II starts with the receipts of the material. The materials are then processed for production, the processing time as 30 days, B1 to B2. This ends the phase III. Phase III This phase covers wait-in-time for the inventory to be sold C1 to C2.

Phase IV The phase IV is activated by the sale of goods on credit of 40 days D1 to D2. The payment dispatched by the customers after 40 days consumes two days in the main, D2 to D3 and another two days for internal processing cheques by the business for presentation
19

MINING
The process involved in mining Drillings Blasting Spoil removal

Crude collection & Dressing the crude

The mining operation are carried out at jaguar and red hills mining is done by open cart method drilling is carried out by wagon drills and jackhammers using portable air compressor .The holes are blasted using explosives like ammonia nitrate from the blasted mass the magnetite is collected by hand picking when all such possible a magnetite has been picked from blasted mass the left over spoils are removed using pay loader and dumped at the spoil bank using frippers. The massive order are than broken into small pieces by hammers. A shiny surfaces of the ore indicated the presence of silica green show serpentine. From the mines the ore the are transported to the factory with the help of trucks.

PRODUCTION OF LIGHTLY CALAINDED MAGNESITE

Heating the raw magnetite at a temperature of around 9000*c-1000*c in shaft kiln produces lightly claimed magnetite the raw material is dumped in to the kiln from the top as lumps of sizes 4 To 6,the kiln used in this section is vertical one , the main purpose of heating is the removal of CO2.And thus making the mass soft. THE REACTION INVOLVED IS
34

MGCO3 900*-1000*C MGO+CO2 The safe the kiln is fluster on the top furnace oil is sprayed at the burner tip using compressed air blown by means of blower attached to the system .The exhaust gases pass through the top of the kiln the claimed ores tapped from the bottom the production rate is 30 tons per day. After air calling the claimed lumps are grinded the Raymond mills .Raymond mills here three rollers revolving in a conical shell after the mass is grounded well pressurized air is blown through the bottom of the mills all the powders are carried by the air and than they are packed and kept ready for dispatch. Lightly calcite graded is grounded to pass through 300mesh this is known as goals.

PRODUCTION OF DEAD BURN MAGNESITE.

The ores from the mines is brought to the crushing section and the crushing is carried out by jaw crusher after crushing. The crushed mass is carried to the top by means of elevator and than it is screened using screens and the gravitational force .The crushed mass of size below 50mm is screened to remove below 4MMmass after this screening the remaining mass I .E mass of size 4MM-50MM is changed into the rotary kiln by means of belt conveyor. Rotary kiln used here is about 75Mlong with diameter of loft this kiln was developed by McNally breath company Calcutta for the easy movement of the charge the kiln has been placed slantingly .A slant of 1M is provided for every 24M. The effective diameter of the kiln is reduced of 8FT due to the refractory lining inside the kiln which account for 21FT.The first 3 inches of the lining consist chromemag or macram .alumina bricks are used in the feeding end due to the lower. Temperature the cylindrical part of the kiln is supported by 16 rollers. Which are contact with 4 types which are inherent of the kiln.

The furnace oil used as fuel for rotator kiln the ratio of furnace oil to air is 14:1 The rotator kiln is divided into four distinctive zones they are Pre -heating zone

Calcimine zone

Firing zone Cooling zone In the pre- heating zone the moisture in the charge is removed the out going fuel gases raise the temperature of this to 400c .At the feeder end the temperature of calcining zones is about 700c-800c. Most of the carbon dioxide is removed in the calquing zone The temperature in the firing zone is about 1750*c carbon dioxide is completely eliminated here the magnetite in this zone is called as DBM in the cooling zone the DBM is down to the temperature of about 80*c-100*c, the cooled DBM is then sent to the bunkers for storing ,they are stored in different bunkers according to their size and silica content .The DBM thus produce is used for making refractory bricks and ramming mass. The DBM which is stored in bunkers is then grounded using ball mill, tube mill or impact mill ,then the grounded mass is allowed to pass though the screen and then they are stored in proper bunker according to their size the DBM is grader according to the percentage of silica content in it.

PRESS SECTION
In the press section various types of mixtures are produced according to the necessity then they are sent to from bricks of required shape and size using presses and the bricks are in the drier and then they are in the tunnel kiln and they are cooled. The important types of bricks produced this section are Magnetite
36

Macram

Chromemag Macaroon Magnetite bricks contain a percentage of chromites this are used in electric furnace as a working layer. The drawback of the bricks is that it does not shocks it undergo spelling. Macram is the mixture of magnesia and chromites. The present of magnesia adder is greater than that of chromites magnesia is obtained from rotary kiln whereas chromites are brought from outside. These bricks are used as safety bricks in rotary and ladder they can withstand the temperature of about 1650*c. Chromes is the mixture of magnesia and chromates but here the chromates percentage is more as a result this bricks are bricks are costlier than me chrome bricks. Me carbon is the mixture of magnesia chromites and carbon it withstand very high temperature they are especially in energy optimizing furnace. There are two types of presses in this section Mechanical press Hydraulic press The hydraulic press has more productivity when compared to the mechanical press the dies required for the press are produced in the workshop according to the requirement the dies are produced for Various size and shapes among all the presses the lea is butcher is of the important one. It can produce a bricks of about in dimension. After pressing, the bricks are allowed into drier for drying and then they are allowed to pass into the tunnel kiln consists of 3 zones. They are PRE-HEATING ZONE
37

withstand

FIRING ZONE COOLING ZONE In the Pre-heating zone the heat is obtained from the flue gases which are produced in the firing zone there is an sucking fan on the top of this zone. Which is used to pull the gases out of this zone as a result the pressure in this zone will be less. In the firing zone the heat of about 1600 c is obtained from the combustion of furnaces oil along with air.The pressure in this zone will be normal. In the cooling zone. The heat from the bricks are carried out by the air. Which takes the heat from the bricks are allowed to pass through the drier in order to dry the green bricks. The bricks are then packed and kept ready for dispatch.

WORKSHOP
All the worn out sections and the new incoming equipments are machined to the required dimensions in the workshop. The important machines have been mentioned below.

Drilling machine-It is used for drilling. The crushing plants etc..For attaching all this parts to the main section of various equipments

Centre lathe-the main operation carried out here is the turning operation the shafts which are worn of in the mix miller is replaced by new ones which are designed in this it is also used to produce thread cutting etc.., Surface grinding machine-it grinds the surface of the given material using grinding the material is fixed to a wrought iron surface is magnetized later both the material and the tool rotate at opposite direction to promote effective grinding the section which are surface cleaned are used in press boxes. All the above mentioned machines are lubricated using lubrication oil which is diluted with water thrice in its quantity.
38

Electrical registenance furnace-this furnace is used for heat treating the metal parts which are produced in the workshop to attain properties such as hardness etc ..,

The machine such as sharper milling machines hard grinding wheel etc.

WORK-1
The insitial process is to feed the magnetite ore in furnace and heated about 1000*c on heating the ore the moisture is removed and a small amount of co2 is removed the heated ore is taken out on every 2 hours. Then they are dried in open atmosphere for two days after it is crushed about 10MM size. It is grinded with water and shaped as approx brick like structure and heated in a furnace Repeatedly it is crushed and well powered and then it is further mixed with water and making paste like and shaped a die whatever we required The magnetite obtained here is gold working this units is small their refractorys are taken to collar.

This is the primary basic section for preparation refractory bricks. The magnetite ore named magnesium carbonate is obtained from the mines this transported and kept in the stocking are from that they are fielded into the crushed is a screen where taken power and 25mm size are filtered directly and the lump will because and entered into the rotary kiln .

ROTARY KILN.
IT is kept starting where the feeding end is charge end and the other end is

discharge end when the 25mm size magnesite is feeder it goes on 3 reaction.
At 400*c the moisture is removed A t 800*c the carbon dioxide is removed.

In discharge end at 1750*c there it becomes to Dead Burn Magnetite (DBM)

MGCO3

MGO+CO2

DBM
The furnace oil is used in furnace the DBM cooled the cooling rotary. It comes out at 0*c and started in the bunker named silos Specification of rotary kiln Length is about h75m

Diameter-10 feet One feet is lined with refractoriness the DBM is comes out with 5 6 hours.

PRESS WORKING
The obtained DBM is collected from silos then crushed well in bell mill and make them into powder. This powder are mixed with a type of resin. Extracted from sugarcane and grinded well in grinding mill. Then the powder will get some moisture . These are fed into the pressing machine and bricks shaped are kept in are kept in atmosphere. finally they are heated in tunnel kiln and dried in air
