DEERE TOPS IRISH TRACTOR MARKET IN 2008 The figures on new tractor registrations in Ireland for 2008 show that John Deere was the market leader for new tractor registrations, according to the FTMTA Statistics Service. The figures show that the top three brands, John Deere, New Holland and Massey Ferguson between them accounted for 54.5% of the total Irish new tractor market in 2008. For the year 2008, John Deere had almost a 23% market share with registrations of 1,038 units out of total market of 4,531 units. Deere was clearly ahead of its nearest rival. New Holland took second place with a 17.8% share and 808 units registered for the year. Massey Ferguson was in third place with 13.8% (627 units) of the new tractor market. The market share figures can only be released 12 months after the close of the year in compliance with EU regulations.
